    The prices of these are getting too expensive In my opinion and would just buy a real one if not on sale.
    Edit November 2019. Just bought another 070 clone saw. Going to build and convert to 090 for comparison.
    Waiting for ms880 clone.
    070 still runs and cuts amazingly well fuel line rotten
    Another edit November 2021 Looking at buying a Husqvarna 3120 before they quit making them. But I'm still amazed how much wood this saw has cut. I only did a little milling with it.
    But most of it is used to cut up big logs into firewood it's showing some wear but the power kept getting better and better with age and the gallons of fuel it's used. I've probably put 40-50 gallons of fuel through this saw. Just chugging away and I don't even want to know how much bar oil.
    I figure if the Chinese can't clone 1950s technology in 2020 they should give it up and I was right. Nice saw. Now they just need to make AV conversion handles. Because this thing VIBRATES.

      OTAlucard - Several of the most popular channels who build these saws will load them up with aftermarket parts and I have always said that is ridiculous. Let the saw stand on its own or buy the OEM.

      Problems with the saw being working on delivery. Shipping more than the cost of the saw. The metal cover was not well made and they substituted a plastic top. Have another friend who got his running. The 070 being an early chainsaw has some technical problems that are corrected in a 660. Can't get an Oregon bar and a bar for the sthil which is available on Ebay costs a bit. Bought this saw to slab a walnut tree dropped on my parking area by the sawyer as i couldn't get anyone to come and mill it for me. Will let you know more of the story.

    • @OTAlucard
      @OTAlucard  5 лет назад

      No it has to be the large mount Stihl bar and there's a difference between the ms 880 large mount and the 070 090 08 and 076 etc bars. . 404 is the sprocket that came with mine.

    • @OTAlucard
      @OTAlucard  6 лет назад

      Yes. It's supposedly driven by crankcase pressure and it has an option to manually pump it. There's no shortage of oil on the bar. I usually use one bar oil tank to a tank of fuel. I finally got the saw running better. It's still a work in progress but now it pulls the 42 inch good.

    well..lcomparing the warranty on stihl vs husquvarna, there's a big gap
    price is not that much different imo, but chinese saws are hard to beat for the money you pay
    50 bucks for a 50cc chainsaw, it works too, completely with bar and chain...that's crazy
    while lower quality, you pay 50 bucks just for the bar and chain if you buy brand name stuff, for the home gamer propably not worth it...
    let me put it like this
    you can buy 12 cheap chinese saws for the price of a comparably powerful stihl saw, complete with bar and chain
    you yould literally buy a chainsaw instead of replacing the chain and it still would be cheaper than buying stihl

    For the 070 Only replace that one bolt on the clutch? What oem parts would you replace if you could and if you know the price of that part. If you don’t know the estimate of the price no worries. How many tanks do you have through the 070. Thinking about getting both for milking. How do you feel about killing with the 660

    • @OTAlucard
      @OTAlucard  5 лет назад

      I killed the 660s clutch side seal. Sadly I was going too fast and the clutch overheated. . I'm going to rebuild it.
      The 070 worked pretty good for milling. The oil kept leaking out of the cap was the main problem. And I couldn't easily adjust the chain. But I had a right angle flat head screw driver.

    • @OTAlucard
      @OTAlucard  5 лет назад

      I probably put at least 4 or 5 gallons of fuel maybe more through the ms 070 clone and it still runs good. The rubber parts are showing their age. The throttle lock vibrated loose.
      I mostly use it to cut up logs into small pieces so I can haul them to the dump.

    Hi, thanks for the helpful discussion on these clones. Which clone do you prefer--the ms660 or the 070? The specs for the ms660 clone suggest it is more powerful yet lower weight than the 070 clone--is that the case in your experience? Thanks!

      TL:DR AT BOTTOM
      As of Right now I'm thinking about buying another 070 clone and trying to make one really good one by having another to compare to I Did that with dirt bikes
      Maybe I'll pick up a real 090 or real 070 to make a base line
      Honestly for that It would probably do the job Mine feels like it's going to fly apart but it hasn't yet
      for the price as of right now on Huztl US$ 334.32 I Just don't see it
      It was dropped back below 300 dollars recently like $285 and at that price it was a deal Cause you can buy the parts that you need for it !
      I Feel like the Clutch is the weakest link with this saw And after mine wears out totally I'll swap it with an OEM Stihl clutch with an Oregon drum/rim sprocket And if that improves things It would be the best thing ever But I can't remove the clutch as of this moment without cutting it off for some reason it Just won't budge even with a puller >.<
      The ms660 cuts quick VERY Fast The clutch locks up and it just goes
      The ms070 must be low on power or something or the clutch is truly garbage
      It's hard to say honestly It's cut everything that I ever needed it to but I couldn't lean on it at all It would just Stop the chain and the clutch would keep slipping
      I Would like it to just bog a little bit and keep the clutch spinning so I Don't have to stop the cut and start over
      TL;DR
      SO FOR MILLING YOU WOULD PROBABLY SLIP THE CLUTCH AND HAVE TO STOP THE CUT AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT FOR MILLING you want the cut to keep going without stopping SO I WOULD SAY THE ms660 out of the two would be your option
      It's hard to say I Wish you were closer then you could just bring a log over and try them both Is there any GTG That you can go to and swap stories / ideas with ? Facebook Community near you >?

    • @alexhub4582
      @alexhub4582 6 лет назад +1

      @OTAlucard  6 лет назад

      @@alexhub4582 you're welcome. I haven't tried with the ms660 yet But I bet it would do it. But for a comparison. I could bring my ported dolmar 120 super with a 24 inch bar to an idle. Mid cut.
      And gas it and it would start cutting again without pulling the bar off the wood at all. Can't do that at all with an 070 clone.

      I'm on the fence about it I've got a few small vintage saws that I love that are without chain break
