Great catch at 6:00! This build is a bit over my head. I ordered this saw prebuilt and broken in. Can't wait to mill with it

Thanks! I ordered a 440 kit. I am expecting it in the next few weeks. The saws that are already built are a better deal, they are about the same price. I just have fun working on them.

I used your or videos to assemble my saw. Many thanks! I would like to add a few recommendations:
-Obtain the Stihl MS660 manual off the web. It has torque values
-The oil pump should have a rubber seal in place (looks like a short black plastic tube 3/8" long) Discovered this when pump wasn't oiling the bar but pouring oil out the bottom
-The clutch drum has a notch that sets over the oil pump drive arm-My e-clip came off and bearing popped out on initial startup. New bearing from the Stihl dealer and e-clip. Hint, good idea to crank over a solid surface vs dirt and gravel.
There is a site that has parts breakdown on line-super handy reference.
Not knocking your work! It saved me as ton of time!

I am glad the videos helped you. I have a couple more saws that I am going to be doing soon. Your right, I should mention the IPL and WSM at the begining. I must have missed the oring on the oil pump in the editing process. I am going to have a quick update on the saw soon. I had a very minor breakdown last night.

Wow, using Stihl diagram and parts to bail you out.
Call you beloved china knock off company whom are stealing Stihl's engineered and tested design and get your parts

@@stihl9968 Imagine taking the time to come the comments of a video on a Farmertec saw build just to complain about the concept of making clone of a 20 year old a saw from parts that are out of patent. I bet you're a blast at parties!

Awesome video. just finished putting mine together. I used all of the Farmertec parts on mine. Put fuel and oil in it and it started on the 4th pull. Just a question with the oil worm gear, the arm that come off it, is it suppose to lock into the little notch on the clutch drum and stay there? Looks like mine only picks up every now and then but still pumps oil ok.
    Cheers Rod

Cool, I hope your saw does well for you. The arm is supposed to lock into the clutch drum. The arm should not come of the worm gear. If it does you may need a new one. The arm may be slipping on the worm gear. I've heard some guys say the worm gear is not very good but I've never heard the say why.

94BULLITT Thanks for your reply. 👍 I had another look and I bent the arm out a couple of mm and now locks in fine. Also if you do another video it may pay to mention the little rubber grommet that goes on the outlet it the oil pump which I forgot. . I don’t know if you had yours in watching your video. If it’s not there the oil just runs out around the bottom of the clutch drum housing instead of coming out where the side plate is.
      Cheers
      Rod

Why worry about getting a NGK plug?! If you are gonna go Made in China you might as well go all the way! Lol! Im curious to see how this saw works out for you.

I have a portable ignition tester. I'll hook up the Farmertec and an NGK and see how the spark looks. The farmertec plug actually looks good.
