- hi! i'm 17 and I tried to get signed with a modeling agency despite being short (5'7 or around 170cm) and living in the middle of nowhere.

As someone who's 5'7 and wants to become a model, this is really inspiring to me. I was going to apply to some modelling agencies and hope for the best I score myself a role there.
Me too I’ve been a bit scared to apply but this year I’m just going for things and this video definitely inspiring.

@@fyrun yeah i think so. the agencies i applied to had a requirement to be over 172cm and another one had for 174cm. and im 179cm so thats like 5’10 i think?

I actually tried modeling but I was aiming more for TV commercial or like background acting work. Then they were like "You could actually do some magazine work too."
I'm like 5 ft 2 and honestly I don't think they decided to book me because I lived a full train ride away and was in a demanding university program. I know for sure that they booked a lot of models for commercials that were smaller than me and that were less okay talking on camera. I was very stylish in an emo/punk way and was super into environmental/social causes. The agency I signed with liked that. I also had just been getting into RUclips and they thought that was interesting/great for promotion. I was cool with them cutting my hair or whatever and they were more of the "we may dye it different colours" and I was game for that.
