I agree about Americans being more polite on the roads compared to Australia. Most people here don't believe it because we have less crime and murica is all about guns guns guns, but Australians in comparison have bad road manners. I'm always tailgated even at speed, and in Canberra no one lets you in when you indicate, they just speed up. Thank you for confirming this in public!!!
Just a tip for the next time you come to the US. Try Turo instead of Hertz. It's cheaper, the cars are in excellent condition, and the owner shares the car with you over the app so you can use all the features. You can also rent a Model S or Model X, even the Plaid if you wish. Some of them even come with free supercharging.

Great video as usual Ryan. One thing I will mention though is that modern planes are insanely efficient. Sucks that they can't be fully on renewable sources of energy, but the A380 for example has lower fuel consumption per passenger than a modern HYBRID car like a Camry, it's actually insane in a way. People who drive ICE cars (not even talking about SUVs here!) should be the ones feeling guilty haha
Yeah you're not wrong, A380 is very efficient per passenger ! Such an impressive plane, but still a frightening amount of emissions from SYD - LAX. However I agree, I feel good about the fact that we drive an EV for the rest of the time ☺

Ryan, it is great when you do longer videos. Often if a video is less than 5 minutes I don’t watch. Your first USA video was so good as you and your wife drove in the US for the first time. Please consider doing more videos in the future of the road trips you take. Often I think they don’t require as much editing. Keep up the good work! It is appreciated.
Greetings from GA, USA. New Sub here. The abuse of Hertz Tesla's are bad overall as I took home a Model 3 SR+. I had the choices of a Polstar 2, Bolt EUV, or M3SR+ but Ultimately took home the M3 since we already own a MY so it's less of a learning for my wife. 1st thing I did with the M3 was I changed the settings and details the exterior (foam wash, Quick Butter Wet wax,deep clean the tires/RainX windows) and Fabreezzzz the interior. 😊
😂 haha sounds like that's what we needed to do ! I was tempted by the idea of trying a Polestar as well but didn't want to relearn a new car as well. Although the Polestars looked in better condition and came with a key fob 😆 Appreciate you subscribing to my channel and commenting ! 🙌
Great video. Good observation about car rental Tesla isn’t same experience as your own Tesla. A few months ago we had take Model 3 in for rattles. They gave us a Hertz Model 3. Really missed cell phone app interface. In addition no connectivity which really impacted entertainment options. Positive was getting experience of driving Model 3 RWD. It doesn’t have acceleration of the AWD but handles really well. Look forward to more of your USA trip videos!

USA, Canada, South Korea, China, mexico, landlocked countries in Europe, Northern Africa, and some of South American countries drive on the right side of the road and have left hand drive cars and UK, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, SriLanka, New Zealand, Jamaica, Guyana, Suriname, And Cyprus drives on the left side of the road and have right hand drive cars there
Going in a couple of months and will be driving my dad's Tesla. Will be doing a similar route as you did (LAX > Malibu) haha. Will probably let my dad drive me around for that first day. Fun times ahead!
Make sure you go to downtown LA and look at the rows and rows of homeless encampments so you don't get a warped perception of what America is really like.
That's crap about having a vald US licence. When I was over there i booked a test drive in a S in California no problem. I think the sale guy was just pulling your leg, knowing that you wouldn't be buying one.
Polite California drivers?! I would describe S. CA drivers exactly as you described Australian drivers but maybe because you were driving through more affluent areas you got the wrong impression. LOL Enjoyed this video and looking forward to the next one.

The A380 Works out at c.3L per passenger per 100km in std config, 2 (or more) passengers in the car you're back to even (or ahead).
