I love this tone but I don't think I can get it using passive pickups? I dont have much experience with other bases other than my own because all of our music stores have shut down in my area
Ofc you can. But you need to have dual signal of some sort. Clean bottom end and basically a gritty guitar amp tone for the top end. You can definitely achieve this modern djent bass tone with a passive instrument. New strings are important, but if you cant afford it, boil them, or if you're poor and lazy like me, just loosen the tension a bit and slap the freshness back into them. I do this every 30 mins or so anyway regardless.
You will need compression and something you can give some sort of grit to your signal. Like a distortion pedal. And you'll probably need to record two signals one for your clean and compressed low end and one for your gritty top end. And then depending on your gear you need to tweak your EQ to your liking
Hi, im just starting my journey into Bass effects, i mean a mostly play clean Bass + a lil Gian built in my combo. Could you tell me where should i begin to get smth like Your sound? Is it a distortion or fuzz? Can you recommand smth for me? I play on Ibanez srsm625 + fender rumble 200.

As the Boss DS1 in the 90's, you can hear this tone ("dingwall + darkglass " like) in about 110 % of metalcore's band....
sounds great! so whats the signal chain?
Can you do a video on your signal chain? I'd be really interested to see how you got your tone for your various videos.
What effecter do you use?

Sounds a lot like DD Verni's bass tone. Sounded like that for years.
Do you have a Patreon? You’ve been my favorite RUclips bass player since I watched your Demiurge cover and I’d love to support you more.

As a beginner, how can I get a tone as similar as possible as this?
