i try to replace driver side door lock but cannot reach the bolt near the key area as there is a metal track blocking it ,anyone know how to help

Hi, here is the situation with my 2010 Honda Fit. I tried to open the passenger door with a key and turned it left/right, but didn't feel the lock doing anything. Door didn't open. Turning the key back to initial position was met with some resistance. So to remove the key, I had to keep pushing to the right and then when key was straight, I was able to remove it. I went to driver's door and pushed on lock/unlock and passenger door knob moved to unlock position, then went back to lock. Other doors unlock normally. Manually pushing the knob from inside to unlock position, but springs back to lock position. Could it be that the lock by the outside handle got stuck and is pulling on the cable/hook of the unlock knob when I try to unlock it?
