"After formatting the partition appears a message saying: Windows can not be installed on this disk. The selected disk is in the gpt partition style.
What is going on?" *Click Read More*
After I did some digging, I found an youtube guide that has helped me.
Step 1: go back into Mac OS and open up Disk Utility.
Step 2: Click (what used to be the Bootcamp OS ) and click Erase on the top. For the Format, CLICK "ExFAT", not MS-DOS.
Step 3: Restart your mac and hold Alt as necessary.
Step 4: THIS TIME::: Select "EFI Boot" instead of Windows. It should be the last option.
Step 5: Follow the default instructions accordingly, and (format it into NTFS via the Format button on windows mode)
Step 6: the "Next" option should now be unlocked. Happy Bootcamping bois.

I just did this following these specific instructions and am currently running Windows 10 on my mid 2001 iMac. This video helped when the instructions online didn’t. I also had to install windows 8.1 first and then upgrade to Windows 10 due to the 4.7gb size restriction of the DVD-R. Also my Apple BT keyboard didn’t not work at first and after numerous attempts at reinstalling boot camp drivers realized it was a BT issue

All you need to do is get a smaller size version of windows to put onto a 4.7 gb cd, and then you can update it later. I used parallels for Mac to simulate a windows computer and then used the program Rufus to download a smaller size iso, like windows 10 version 1709, which fits on a 4.7 gb cd

Best one for macpro 3,1 as my earlier efforts with other videos using USB didnt work (couldn't boot from the boot menu....kept getting stuck). The windows drivers worked from the outset even without the bootcamp drivers. Wasn't able to update the graphics card drivers as demonstrated here. Its still the ATI xx00 series but everything seems to be working fine except the bluetooth connection to apple wireless keyboard and trackpad. I updated the display driver as it had the generic one to start with.

You’ve got to buy a DVD+R DL 8.5gb DVD. I only found ones that came in as little as 10 DVDs at office max, though Amazon has them for the same price. For reference I bought the Verbatim brand.

Nice video an explanation, i've actually given up trying to install Win 7 and 10 on 2011 iMac, from Lion to El Capitan, info.plist edits to my own partitions, years ago i was successful from Win 7 DVD in drive but forget usb drive, black screen no boot, got Win 10 installed on partition but blue screen error when loading, did work once today but then when to blue screen error, appears it's something to do with graphics driver error but blue screen is stopping me from loading bootcamp drivers, so given up and reinstalling High Sierra.

Ian Kim yeah but you have to go to boot camp -->show package contents---> right click on info.plist and launch with tezt edit---> look for ___USBSUPPORTEDMODEL. Delete the letters behind the blank. keep page up and go to about this mac and then go to system report. put the system name under the usbsupported models
