FANTASTIC TIP !! it work perfectly on My MACBOOK 2009 5.3 running EL CAPITAIN OS. Only a few extra tips: 1) the copy take longer time than the video show. Wait ! 2) when Win starts install select BOOTCAMP partition then select FORMAT, otherwise it wont install 3) the installation takes up to 20GB disk, than remember this when partitioning your SSD. 4) take several hours to this job, you must wait a lot !!!! BUT IT WORKS just PERFECT !! congratulations , it is simple and it works !!

GUYS! If Windows Installation is giving you the error that says that it cannot install on the bootcamp disk, DON'T PANIC! Just format it to NTFS in the installation and then the bootcamp installation will show up right after you finish installation. This video is a blessing because after a month of trying to installing and wrecking my MacBook Pro, IT WORKED!!! Thank you so much!!!

If you've got the "not enough space on USB" problem, that's because a single file in the win install is larger than 4g, which conflicts with the mac fat settings. If you have access to a pc, just format the USB drive and load the win 10 iso in there from PC. Then it works. (For some reason, bootcamp will not restart and install automatically though. You just have to restart and press alt, then choose the USB drive instead of the mac partition. At least that's how it worked for me ; )

@@user-st3cn3tw8k What I did was making the USB thru a PC, then take files in a folder in your Mac, format your USB (2.0) to MS-DOS, after that copy the files from your Mac to the USB again.
Download the bootcamp drivers in the USB, and continue with the installation.

For anyone still struggling to make it work (getting a "Windows 8 non supported...." after clicking Continue) after all the mods in step 2 for Bootcamp 6.1.0, simply change 7 to 8 in the string Win7OnlyModels and add below your Model Id as for the other steps.

It worked. Thanks a lot dude!
I was able to install Win10_64bit_1909 on my MacBook Pro Late 2008 (MacBook Pro 5,1).
Note for Boot Camp info.plist: Although my Mac (MacBook Pro 5,1) was not found in the "Win7OnlyModels" list, I had to remove also the model MacBook Pro 5,5 from list ( I don't know the reason, maybe "close family") , in order to be able to create the Win10 USB installation medium. Otherwise Boot Camp Assistant will allow to create only the Win 7 installation medium.
For those facing problems at Boot Camp drivers installation, you need to use the proper Boot Camp version for your Mac. The version Boot Camp 4.0.4255 from this clip/guide will not work for all macs.
In my case I had to install Boot Camp 4.0.4033 with compatibility settings of course.

@@mateiacd If I understood correctly you have a newer Mac than 2011.
If that is correct, this guide does not apply completeley to you.
You just simply runt BootCamp assistant from Catalina, make sure you have enough free space, create Windows partition and continue following the steps to install Windows.

You saved my MacBook Pro Mid 2009 17". Thank you very much!!
El Capitan; in June 2023, it is hopeless and there is no supported browser for OS X 10.11 today. If you want your old Mac to be fully functional, here is the only solution.
I faced several issues when I tried following this video. Here are my notes. Hope it can help someone.
    1) Boot Camp Installer couldn't run on Windows 10.
When I tried to install the Boot Camp installer, it went straight to "Boot Camp installer completed" before I got "Welcome to the Boot Camp installer" which means Windows didn't install Boot Camp anyway. So I got back to OS X and downloaded "the latest Windows support software from Apple" on Boot Camp Assistant. Then it worked.
    2) After finishing installing the Boot Camp installer, Windows 10 frequently froze.
NVRAM reset worked. Now it works perfectly.

Restart and hold option (if you have a Microsoft keyboard its the left Alt), then try manually selecting the EFI boot option (disconnect any other bootable installers to make sure it's the right one). If that doesn't work, you should probably go back to macos (by doing the same thing but selecting your macos volume) and retry creating the media. I also had this problem, but I think it's because when Bootcamp restarts its unable to find your media automatically.

Hi. I'm running a 21.5-inch, Mid-2011 iMac. When my Mac was installing Windows 10, this came up:
“No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key".
I did a bit of research, and found the "Hold option strategy", I'm sure you know what I mean by that. After that, I selected my USB with Windows named "EFI Boot". After that, the Windows Starter opened up, with a blue screen in the background. I selected my language, and time and currency format, and clicked next. After that, I was left with "Install now". After a while, a window popped up, saying "Activate Windows". I typed in the product key that you left in the description. I went through the installation progress till I got to 2 boxes. The first one said this:
"Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications"
    The second one said this:
    "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)"
When I clicked Upgrade, a window came up named Compatibility Report, with a text box underneath it that said:
"The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using Windows installation media. If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After Windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run Windows Setup."
This window gives me no option but to restart the setup process.
If I was to click Custom, a window would come up named "Where do you want to install Windows?". Underneath is a box that shows all of my drives.
    Drive 0 Partition 1
    Drive 0 Partition 2
    Drive 0 Partition 3
    Drive 0 Partition 4
On each of these drives, an annotation comes up saying "Windows can't be installed on Drive 0 Partation 1", "Drive 0 Partation 2", "3" and "4". If I click on the annotation, it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.". From there, I have no option but to restart the setup process, once again.
I have tried another way however, but this one does not work. Back on the "Activate Windows" window, there is an annotation that says "I don't have a product key". If I click it, a window pops up saying "Select the operating system you want to install" which in this case, I chose "Windows 10 Pro". If I click next, I accept the Terms and Conditions and the "Which type of installation do you want?" window pops up, again. If I click either of them, the same thing happens. I truly have hit a brick wall here. Do any of you guys know how to fix this?

It's a corrupted installer, your Mac is fine, just restart and grab a Windows PC. I'm downloading the .ISO for Windows 10 off the web, and I'm using a tool called Rufus to make the installer. Make sure you use a 64-bit .ISO, and not a 32-bit one.

I am trying to install Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Pro early 2011. I did everything in the video (great video by the way), and when I get to the install windows screen upon boot from EFI (USB), when I get to the point where it says where to you want to install Windows, I get an error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." Tried the diskpart and list disk in the command prompt (when hitting shift F10 from install screen), and that doesn't work for me. Don't know what else to do....

I changed a few things different from guide.
'prewindows10onlymodels' I deleted the "pre" and added my model here.
Then it told me I couldn't use win10, so I went and found all mentions of my model (4 total) and deleted it from 'supporedNonWin10Models' (I copied that, if it's meant to be supported... Apple typoed not me) so there are only 3 mentions of my 8,1 model... All the ones I added.
And then it started making the install usb with the win10.

Ive spent part of 5 hours trying to get this working today. You can install Windows 7 fine using the previous video but you have to create a bootable DVD as the machine just won't recognise a bootable USB despite what the videos shows. And you can't make a bootable Win10 DVD as the ISOs are too big.

      **Step 5: Bootcamp Setup
If compatible Run couldnt work. First install instedit software and do these steps.(www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/2zsaz7/can_i_install_windows_10_via_boot_camp_or_not/) after you deleted rows it should be work but if it didnt and you take error 2229 . Go to ''region and language'' settings and change your language option and pick English(united state). Restart and try again. It worked :D

Drivers install does not work or prompt me at all for compatibility issues. Most it will do is attempt win 7 compatibility and not run, giving the error "Boot Camp requires that your computer is running Windows 7" Anyone find a workaround or fix for this? made it this far just for this last headache...

If your bootcamp assistant doesn't say Windows 7 *or later*, try deleting MacBookPro5,5 like in 4:28. I was having an issue where I did everything the video said and I was only able to create a win7 usb. I randomly removed MacBookPro5,5 and it worked. I can now create a Windows 10 usb.

Download XCODE then open plist with XCODE place DAREQUIRED as a new array then add the required to a new string.

If you have the 6.1.0 Version of BootCamp you don't need to put the DARequired Rom Version string, instead locate this:
      "SupporedNonWin10Models" (yes it is "suppored")
Locate your Mac version (i.e. MacBookPro5,5) then delete it.
