    That mega beast is 8k you could buy a trek session with that

    • @SteveGouldChewy

      Alisa Diez Exactly. And it wont be the Trek model with carbon rims, titanium spokes, carbon bars, fox suspension, needle roller bearing pivots, hope brakes etc etc. If you spec’d an adults bike with the components these bikes have, it would be 11k ++

      Neko Saupe each size should yield at least three years of growth. And you can always sell it.

    Indeed it is an extremely niche market, especially if you are based in Hong Kong as generally most parents (especially Chinese background) who could afford high end products for their kids don't encourage their kids to engage in dangerous sports (even Rugby believe it or not!). DH racing is certainly quite dangerous and as a parent who loves road and mountain biking and watching Aaron Gwin and Rachel Atherton fly down Fort Williams, it looks mighty spectacular but I wouldn't want to see my boys up there and definitely having to constantly visit hospitals for broken collarbones and wrists.
    Maybe you could consider part of the sales pitch to the parents especially those that are none bike literate is that having the right equipment ensures their safety of persuing the sport hence the DH geometry helps the rider's weight shift backwards and the long suspension travel inspire confidence. The CF frame not only save weight but adds to the rigidity and also dampens vibration etc. Also another elephant in the room is that crashes are inevitable so what would happen when they stack their HKD+50k bikes! Maybe bundle insurance with safety and crash protection garments may better help sell your bikes?
    Also IMO pretty bad marketing to see the Meek boys fly down the stairs in a resting/ BBQ area without any protection other than a FF helmet! It looks reckless and dangerous and not very encouraging in most HK people's eyes (thou it looks damn fun to me!!). As you know, the HK govt is already very backward and strict in opening up riding trails so it doesn't help for them to see people treating their parks like a backyard playground.

    To build the same bike at a shop with a professional it will be cheaper

    • @SteveGouldChewy
      @SteveGouldChewy  4 года назад

      Krypt Galaxy they have a direct sales model so they manufacture the bikes, build them in-house then ship direct to the customer. I can vouch for the manufacturing costs and tell you for sure there is hardly any profit margin on each bike. Going via a bike shop, they will add their profit and labour cost on top for sure.

    the adult forks on kids bikes that's just wrong.

    • @SteveGouldChewy
      @SteveGouldChewy  5 лет назад +1

      The frame shape is designed to take the adult fork. The reason for this is that kids forks are cheap and shite. They need a fork to match the bike's performance.

    • @mtbboy1993
      @mtbboy1993 5 лет назад

      @@SteveGouldChewy that exist, commencal use their own forks, they have all kids sizes of mtb bikes, i also see Mrp has forks for kids. There probably is more I forgot about, but there are options out there.
