Got recommended this video randomly, bought the game. If you are tired of games with long setup times, having to build maps, place the different pieces, sometimes paying very large sums of money for figures this game is for you. I think there is much more potential in having units represented by these cardboards than miniatures. It is cheaper, therefore large expansions can come out faster and be affordable. It is easier to read the board with all the information on the unit itself, the game takes so little space it's actually possible to play on regular size tables. The art style is really good and the design lends itself to some historical accuracy

This is basically a reimplementation of Pocket Battles (also by Paolo Mori), and I'm so happy it exists. Hope this does well.

I do like the mechanics, the do seem very nice. Is there a complete list of units? "Greek-Baectrian is a weird faction to me. Selcuids (in the East it seems) I assume but whould they fight China? Undaunted by Osprey is quite nice so will check this out for sure. I do think the post Aleaxander the Great areas (Selucids & co) could be more than one faction like Macedonian/Greek, Egyptian and some "barbarians" maybe horselords and Gallic/Germanic? Many good wargames are rock-paper-scissors in my book an this does look alot like that :)
It is a fair chance I could get obsessed with this yes!

Agree with the Greek-Bactrian Kingdom. The big dogs of the ancient world are the Romans and the Chinese, so why not instead include the ones in-between, the Parthians?

Selcuids would have been a better choice, bactrians are really a sub list of them .

Loved seeing something not on my radar, I’ll have to look for this at PaxU! I loved your enthusiasm and critical takeaway, but it was a bit hard to understand the loop of the game for me with your explanation. Haven’t caught your videos before, but with your collection behind you and our mutual love of Pax Pamir I’ll be checking out your other stuff for sure!

Awesome! Glad to have you. Yeah sometimes it’s hard to balance brevity and overview. Core loop is very simple though. After you set up you take a turn by commanding a type of attack with one unit to another eligible unit OR you rest to recall all of your command and somewhat heal your units. Continue exchanging turns until someone runs out of their draw deck (which you draw from whenever you lose a unit or take a rest) or you start your turn with your opponent having no units in their center lane.
Beyond that there’s a bajillion tactical implications, but fundamentally it’s select a unit to attack with and you attack something else it can reach.

They could also sell cardbdeck expansions of each the 4 original factions or expand the troop choice . Welcome to miniature wargaming folks ps look up DBA as a game .
