  • Come aboard Queen Anne with me to check out the Queen Anne Balcony Cabin. This was my balcony cabin on board Queen Anne for the preview night on board the ship BEFORE the maiden voyage! Check out this Britannia Grade balcony cabin on Cunard's newest ship.
    I stayed aboard Queen Anne as a guest speaker of Cunard. I paid for my own airfares to get here. I also paid for my own accommodation shoreside. I paid for my own transfers. Cunard has provided me with the opportunity to come on board for the VIP event and also invited me to be speaker on board the ship’s maiden voyage. But they have not paid me to make this video and they have not paid me to be here on board the ship.

    Very nice cabin. I have never been on a Cunard ship. Would love to someday. I saw the QE2 in Philadelphia back in the early 1980’s. She was amazing to see in person. My family is originally for Scotland and other parts of the UK. Enjoy the ship.

    Thank you so much for the marvellous sneak preview for what I hope it to come in August 2024. The balcony cabin is a significant improvement on the other three Queens, particularly the vanity mirror, shower door, bathroom sink and mirror, and the wood veneer to the furniture. We have Cabin 11047 provisionally booked, which is a balcony too. Having enjoyed many of your books, most of which I’ve had signed by Cunard captains on other cruises, the addition of one on Queen Anne I hope will be available in time for Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge to sign. Holding the health of my parents constant, I very much hope to have my partner and I joined by three friends, who I met aboard a QM2 westbound transatlantic, for a Norwegian fjords cruise. We’re overjoyed you are able to make this maiden voyage and look forward to your overview of this new lovely lady, who I’ve yet to see in Southampton, despite being eight miles away, due to a work trip to France! Good luck, enjoy your journey and thank you for the work you do showcasing Cunard’s fabulous fleet!

    Nicely designed and appointed. I don't know what grade it is, but assuming its a standard balcony cabin, it looks smaller than we've experienced in 25 years of cruising. I guess its not surprising as more and more passengers need to be packed in to minimise prices. Also appears to suffer from my pet hate - large TVs bolted back to back on the cabin walls. We've had holidays ruined where TVs in neighbouring cabins have been on at high volume from 6am to 10pm. Old and cranky we may be but these modern `pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap ships are not for us. We won't be sailing on Queen Anne - not that Cunard will need to care.

      @ChrisFrameOfficial It is interesting that she is the first Cunarder since the QE2 with contemporary décor. I wonder why they made that choice? I associate Cunard with a retro-ocean liner ambience. Does Queen Anne have this?

    • @ChrisFrameOfficial
      @ChrisFrameOfficial  2 месяца назад

      Ahh I’m not getting retro ocean liner vibes. More, as you say, like QE2 in that she takes the brand to a slightly different place. I think it’s a return to Cunard pushing the boundaries a little more than what we’ve seen between 2007-2010. Anne’s interiors give senses of QE2… some elements remind me of QM2… and also high end apartment hotel. Less Victorian / Art Deco recreation… more of an interpretation.

    • @ChrisFrameOfficial
      @ChrisFrameOfficial  2 месяца назад +1

      I’m not sure about that, I’d need to see some pictures of the standard balconies on the latest Norwegian ships in order to make a comparison. I sailed infinite verandah on Celebrity Edge which is a higher grade of accommodation than a standard balcony. It’s definitely of a comparable standard to the standard balcony we had on Norwegian Spirit post refit.

    • @ellisonketovore
      @ellisonketovore 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ChrisFrameOfficial Was just on the Norwegian Prima. Cunard's quality is obviously outstanding but to me I much prefer a less traditional decor and the Prima exemplified a very innovative and very current / hip design theme throughout it cabins and passenger venues which I see a lot of ships doing but perhaps Cunard knows and respects the taste of its loyal followers.

    • @ChrisFrameOfficial
      @ChrisFrameOfficial  2 месяца назад +2

      Makes sense. Prima looks like she pushes the boundaries! The Edge had some very nice unique features in her infinite verandah rooms too. And her bathroom was hands down the best I’ve ever had on a ship - so spacious! I actually really liked how they’d updated Norwegian Spirit’s bathrooms
      and cabin interiors too - basically stripped back to the metal and a new interior built - makes me think if NCL can do that to a 1998 build then Cunard could upgrade Victoria / Elizabeth to have a standard comparable to Anne - especially in the standard inside / ocean view rooms.
