@Lorna.R What lovely comments. Thank you very much. Yes, Jane is the joker of the family, she makes me laugh so much. We are both quite mischievous…. Put us together and there’s usually trouble! (In a funny way) We both had such fun on Queen Anne! Thanks again for watching Lorna.
Wonderful video. Photography prefect. Great colours and clarity. Well done !!👍 The food looks Delicious !! Cunard is my favourite cruise line. Everything is so elegant and beautiful aboard their ships. I’ve dined at the “ Veranda “ restaurant on both the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. Sir Samuels food offerings look very similar. The Brioche Rolls are Fantastic . Definitely a highlight on the menu. I must say that Sir Samuels does not seem as fancy in its decor design as the Veranda Room on the other Cunard ships.But I’ve heard that they went with a different look on Queen Anne , which is much more “ Contemporary and Modern “ in style ? I personally prefer the more traditional “ Art Deco “ style of the other Cunard ships ! But the Queen Anne is very grand also in her own way. So glad to hear that you and your sister are both doing well with your health ! A true blessing from God !🙏😊
@michaelwhalen2469 What lovely comments, thank you Michael and I’m glad you liked the video. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food on Cunard. I’ve sailed on Cunard 3 times before, all on the QM2. I couldn’t help but compare, and in that regard, Queen Anne is so completely different, at first I was disappointed…. However as the week went on, I fell in love with Queen Anne. She’s a very ‘Classy’ ship with lots to offer. We especially liked the food and service in Sir Samuel’s. Those brioche buns were delicious! In terms of the actual restaurant itself, it’s quite unremarkable in my opinion, apart from the good views. I’m looking forward to trying Queen Victoria later this year. Thanks again Michael, best wishes David
Thank you so much. I just learned my daughter needs a kidney transplant. Came here to get my mind away from health issues and the mention of your experience with your sister was so uplifting.
@Desjardins50 Oh my goodness! Well first of all, thanks for watching the video, I really appreciate it. I’m so sorry your daughter needs a kidney transplant and I hope a suitable donor kidney is found asap. I have no regrets whatsoever! That kidney completely restored Jane’s health, literally within 24hrs. I really hope the same will happen for your daughter. Sending you both our very best wishes. David
Following all of your Queen Anne videos, it was great meeting you onboard the ship. We were frankly feeling a bit negative after our time onboard, but you point out a number of positives and we’re thankful for that, makes us reconsider many of our opinions. And we loved the story of the kidney donation, thanks for sharing that!
@callingallports Hey thanks for watching! Yes, it was so nice talking and I really enjoyed meeting you both. I’m sorry you were disappointed with Queen Anne. I guess you had literally just come off the very majestic QM2, which didn’t help. They are world’s apart in just about every way. What an adventure you both had though, I hope you enjoyed the transatlantic crossing and I’m sure Norway didn’t disappoint. I hope our paths will cross again one day. Sending you both my very best wishes, David
@williamporter2867 We both loved the food on Cunard’s Queen Anne. Jane and I are appreciative of a great deal of things. She’ll be back on the channel for our next adventure in a few weeks. Thanks again, David
@norfolkboy6935 It was one of those cruises that we will remember and talk about for a very long time!! We enjoyed the bar offerings very much indeed!! Glad you like seeing Jane in the videos, I’ll pass on your comments, she’ll like that. Thanks as always, David
Glad to see your scones at afternoon tea didn’t disintegrate into crumbs like ours did every time a knife was shown to them when we were on Queen Anne in May …they may well have tweaked the recipe ..great food review .. 👍👍
Mr David, I’m glad to see your sister is well enough to cruise with you again. Your meals on Queen Anne look even better than other Cunard ships’, minus the buffet and MDR. I’ve booked QM2’s scenic Cornish cruise for my birthday in 2 years’ time and apart from the buffet, may try the deck grill, pub lunch and cafes. June
Loved this video - I've just come back from Queen Anne and we decided not to do Sir Samuel's - I now regret that after watching this video! We ate at the Indian at the back of the ship beside the Food Hall, and really enjoyed it in there!
@FraserAtSea Thanks for watching Fraser! There’s always another time to do Sir Samuel’s! We missed out on the Indian restaurant. Will have to return to Queen Anne and do the others! Best wishes, David
@carmelshepherd6739 Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. It’s been 13 years since my last Cunard voyage. We had such a good time and I can’t wait to go back on Queen Anne one day in the near future. I’m also sailing on Queen Victoria this coming November. That will be my first time on her, so very much looking forward to it. Thanks again for watching. David
@aimeerogers4542 Hi Aimee! Thanks for watching. Yes, Cunard are the most formal line I’ve cruised with. I can’t think of a more formal line. Best wishes, David
I was on the Queen Anne with my daughter cruising the Norwegian Fjords departing Southampton on June 23. I was particularly impressed with the new and vastly improved buffet area with food stations featuring various offerings ranging from customizable salads to fish & chips to pasta to sandwiches to roasts. We are pretty loyal Cunard customers and this arrangement was a huge step up from the other Queens. The highlights of the Specialty dining venues (read extra charge) were the steak house, Sir Samuels, and Tramonto, the Mediterranean restaurant. This video does a good job on Sir Samuel's and it is very good. We loved Tramonto although I was a bit surprised that they had no pasta offering. In both of these restaurants the service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with the service in the Britannia Restaurant. They appeared to be understaffed and there was usually more of a wait between courses than we liked. The food was quite good and there was lots of variety. The biggest (only?) disappointment was the specialty Japanese restaurant, Aji Wa. I have spent a lot of time in Japan on business over the years and whatever they were serving wasn't Japanese food as I know it. In addition to the food on offer being odd and not delicious, practically everything had an extra charge. The other specialty venues did not do this. Avoid Aji Wa. One last tip, book the specialty dining restaurants before you get on board - the price goes up about 10% if you book on board.
Hello Nancy and thanks so much for commenting. We were on the same cruise and wasn’t it great. Fantastic weather, beautiful ship, great crew and Norway didn’t disappoint either!! Thanks for watching the video. Best wishes, David
@wendydee3007 Thanks for watching the video Wendy! The food was really good. You certainly won’t go hungry!!! Have a great cruise, September will be here before you know it!! David
Thanks so much for watching. I was really surprised by the food quality on this Cunard ship. Good quality ingredients and it was all so tasty! We have another Queen Anne food video coming soon! Best wishes, David
Great vidio on all the diining venues on Queen Anne we are Cunarders who dail when we can when in Australian water on Queen Elizabeth next week and join Queen Anne in Auckland in to dail to Sydney as sector of her World Cruise.
@KathyB52 Thanks for watching Kathy! Yes, that bread was the best!! The room service was great, although as you pointed out…. Nowhere to properly eat it…. It was literally breakfast in bed! That’s another downside of booking the small inside cabin. Yes, you noticed the lack of a spoon!! (You have a good eye)
One day, just one day a cruiser will let us know about a healthier diet, if one exists, and review it. One day eating as you ate and I wpuld unfortunately have a stroke. I would love to goon a cruise and not have to worry about a relape
@taniagoldman Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I guess you make a good point. Tomorrow I will be boarding Sun Princess for a week around Greece and Italy. I’ll make my usual food video, but will also do a day of healthy choices. Best wishes, David
@Stephanie-vx4zi Thanks so much for watching!! It really was great in Sir Samuel’s. It was so good we went back! Another Queen Anne Food video coming soon! Best wishes, David
Anyone seen how bad Cunards Queen Marys gone? My thoughts are- it's because Carnival has sent it's best crew to the Queen Anne and is allocating more of their $$$$$$ in to it financially, too.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I’ve not sailed on QM2 for many years, but I’ve seen several vlogs/blogs about the poor state of things. Such a shame. QM2 is their flagship, it should be the best of the best. Hope it improves as I’m booked on her for 2 weeks in 2026.
What aspects have gone downhill on it out of interest .?? Seen a vlog recently from a chap who’s pretty discerning and he really enjoyed his transatlantic voyage ..
Hi and thanks for watching. I can’t really remember the steaks being overly thin on Queen Anne. I think it’s true that steak size had reduced across the cruise industry, especially so in the main dining rooms. On my recent Sun Princess trip, I ordered the always available New York strip and it was more like a thin slice of beef!
Loved watching how excited your sister was, loving her life. Amazing that you gave her that gift of a kidney ❤️
@Lorna.R
What lovely comments. Thank you very much. Yes, Jane is the joker of the family, she makes me laugh so much. We are both quite mischievous…. Put us together and there’s usually trouble! (In a funny way)

Your sister is full of class what a great brother and sister you are.

That’s so nice of you to say…. I will show Jane your comment!
Thanks very much for watching the video.

That is wonderful to hear. Thank you so much
A lovely thing you did for your sister, and fantastic she's well! A great act of selflessness!

Sensational meal you are both very appreciative of the entire day's food. Both class eaters as well.

Scrumptious episode. Is Cunard the most formal Cruise line you've been on?
@aimeerogers4542
Hi Aimee!

Yum the rolls/bread in Sir Samuel’s! Lovely I love room service but you had no table to eat at? No spoon for your mousse at tea?

Presentation of the steaks not to Cruise standard should be no juice leaking out of the steak on the plate.
Tasted great to us!
Thanks for watching the video.
Was there a Chicken Salad sandwich?!
@lukecalladine1683
I think so! It changes daily though, but there is usually a chicken option of some sort.

Well for $60 that steak house is not a patch on Morano restaurants on the Celebrity ships!!...You can keep Cunard, not for us!!!
Celebrity do offer something special don’t they.
The steaks appear terribly thin … 😮
