How good is it to see the food choices and dining areas of the ship presented so professionally. I am over the way some vloggers, who have no appreciation of food, ridicule themselves and the restaurants they attend. They highlight their dishes by showing us their tonsils and lack of table manners. I did enjoy this vlog. The food was presented so well. Thank you
The main dining room is stunning. It has a winter wonderland essence to it. Since discovering an auto-immune disease rendering me allergic to gluten, eggs, bean and almonds, fish and steak have been especially appetizing to my transitional diet that my entire body is having a rather rough time getting used to. I know cruise lines are very accommodating with diet issues, so it'd be really great to see how Cunard takes on the challenge. Though the view alone may make Sir Samuel's worth the extra upcharge. Aranya looks like a goldmine for accommodating such allergies. That Roasted Wild Turbot looks beautifully rich and flavorful. Tamales and dishes like it have become the most for me. The Carinthia Lounge looks amazing. I love how Cunard emphasizes the views up and down the boat deck. Wouldn't mind one of those distinctively Cunard/Queen Anne tea cups and saucers.
Really great to see all of the food offerings. We shall be spoilt for choice in July. We've pre-booked the specialty dining, but I'm most excited about the wellness cafe (and the naughty pastries - it's all about balance!)
1:51 Britannia Dining This sends my introvert/anxiety personality into a tailspin. 🤣 I'll need to sort this out [mentally] for my upcoming QA voyage in Dec 2024. I'll need on of the tables in the corner 1:57 hahahah! I've been on the QM2 [Transatlantic - US > UK > Norway > UK > US] and QV [UK > Iceland > UK], and both times I've gone to the maître d' as soon as I board. I usually go to the dinning room and scope out the tables I like and I go to them with a list and see if they can lock those in for me. I know we are meant to mingle on cruises, but I really hate being forced to seat with strangers. Oh well, nevertheless, I'm excited for the upcoming trip. 6:22 That burger looks yummy. 12:40 I'm looking forward to trying to new offerings Thanks for sharing. I love the sneak peak into what I have to look forward to.
Thank you for this video I’ve found it so helpful. We’re sailing on QA on 3/11 have already booked our speciality restaurants this just gave us a taste of what to expect and different ideas. Excellent footage 👌
Lovely video about the food options on Queen Anne we will join her in February on a sector of her World Voyage we disembarked Queen Elizabeth yesterday which we love having sailed on her several times Queen Anne looks modern and geared towards a new generation of Cunarders looking forward to our take on the experience.
As I commented on a previous video, our experience of the Britannia Restaurant was an absolute disgrace. Although service for Evening Meals slowly improved during the voyage, Breakfast service remained very poor. The problems were not just confined to service either, the Galley was clearly also under immense pressure. For the whole 7 days, we were not once served hot food at Breakfast (who wants to eat cold scrambled eggs?) and at best our Evening & Lunches Meals in Britannia arrived lukewarm. With regards the Speciality Dining food offering, we tried Tramonto (Mediterranean themed) which was excellent, Sir Samuel’s (Queen Anne’s version of The Veranda) which was good but not worth the 45% price hike compared to Veranda, and Aranya, which was a bitter disappointment compared with Coriander (and also significantly more expensive). I do think these venues still need tweaking, for example, I expect a tablecloth on a Cunard ship (white glove service is a core brand value). Also, in Sir Samuel’s they need to think about whether their choice of sides complements their mains, I very much enjoyed the gigantic prawns which are served Asian-fusion style, but don’t work well with classic French vegetable dishes. When we are back on board in August, we are in Grills and the Speciality Dining is not special enough to warrant a revisit vs what is in offer in Grills.
Thanks for watching and for your detailed comments, many of which we agree with. Hopefully some of the issues we had on the maiden cruise were teething problems and will improve over time 👍
Thank you for your very well done and extensive review of the dining options. And the chamber music (at least I think that may be what it is called) was a great touch.
Wonderful overview - Queen Anne looks absolutely beautiful. I can't believe how close those tables are - I had similar on P&O last year, but saw nothing like that on Queen Elizabeth or Queen Mary 2 recently - I'd find those tables SO awkward as a solo traveller - I wouldn't know where to look, ha!
Haha, so true. We sat next to a solo lady traveller on one evening and it was quite awkward, especially as she obviously didn’t want to engage in conversation 😆
Thank you for another absolutely superb dining guide Rich and Helen - superbly shot and produced, with all the info we could need (not to mention your fantastic VO Rich 😊). Queen Anne looks stunning, and we very much need to book a cruise on her. We sailed on Koningsdam in 2018 and love the Pinnacle class, and 100% want to experience Cunard's take on it.
@visitwithus oh we absolutely recommend it! We did a 2 week Baltic cruise on Koningsdam, and it was genuinely one of the best vacations we have ever been on. A perfect combination of fine dining, superb music, a luxurious ship, and unforgettable ports (plus 30 degree C sunshine!). And it's our pleasure - we always love watching your videos 😊
You are a lovely young couple who may not realize that as we age, some constitutions of your elders may not tolerate the spicier dishes. Were spices, hot sauces, horseradish, wasabi etc. made available to you for adding to your meals as most do with salt and pepper to their own taste? Your statement made the dining appealing to me because it made me aware that I can control the seasoning of the dishes that I am served. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to season meals appropriately for so many guests. I appreciate and enjoyed your presentation. Thank you.
We’ve never done Britannia Club. It always seems quite a big upcharge for a separate restaurant. But like you say it’s more than just that, it’s the complete dining experience. Maybe one day 🤞 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Thank you. Really enjoyed your dining guide - love the humour! Planning my eating alread though I'm not booked until March 2026 when she comes 'down under'. Have a few Queen Elizabeth cruises in between to keep me satiated. Particularly fond of Gosling's Bermuda Black Rum on my Baba!
Great job on the detailed presentation. We are trying to decide to upgrade to the Britannia Club (we are currently at a Britannia Balcony) or just indulge in more of the specialty restaurant. For us, it's all about the food. We just wonder how much better is the Britannia Club menu. It does feature a nightly flambé option - and we love the drama of that. It also allows you to have the same table for the cruise, which is similar to what they used to have in the main dining room. Any thoughts? Thanks again for a wonderful review of everything. I'm tempted now to try Aji wa. We love sushi and the tasting menu sounds like a grand idea. Ours is a 17 day cruise from NYC to San Francisco. We would appreciate any info you might have picked up on the ship. I'm going to check out your other videos on Queen Anne. It's our first Cunard experience.
Thank you for watching and commenting. We have never dined in Britannia Club so can’t comment on the food differences, though the restaurant itself looked very nice and we would hope it would be a slightly more elevated experience, we would particularly like it if we could have the same table and servers each night. On a 17 night voyage we would definitely recommend trying one or two of the speciality restaurants just for some variety, and though Aji Wa is one of the more expensive options it was great and a nice treat. Hope you have a fabulous cruise and enjoy your first Cunard experience. We have two Cunard voyages booked for next year, one of them is a 20 night voyage round Japan on Queen Elizabeth, can’t wait ☺️
In Q3 grills in October on QA. Love your channel and high production values. Re Britannia Club. In our experience the menu on QM2 it was superior to Britannia. ( Britannia restaurant + several extra dishes. ) We also found having a designated table for all 3 meals, so the crew get to know you and anticipate your needs well worth the extra price. We also valued the extra space provided. Britannia looked chaotic compared to the relaxed atmosphere in BClub. We will comoared BC v Grills in October.
Thanks for watching and your detailed comment. We’ve never sailed in Britannia Club but imagine it would be more reminiscent of how dining was on Cunard when we first started cruising with them over 15 years ago. If dining is an important part of your cruise experience (it is for us too) then we imagine it could be worth the upcharge in fare price.
First draft done - hopefully in the next few weeks. Sorry it’s delayed, the dining guides take quite a lot of time to put together. Thanks for following along and supporting our channel 👍
I must have driven past you last month. I was picking up a car from Southampton, jealously admiring the ship from afar. As a kid, I was lucky enough to go on both the QE2 and QM2. How does Queen Anne compare to the QM2? Is the QM2 still the largest in their fleet? Hope to have the opportunity for my wife and I to experience all this in the near future! Until then, I'll save money by living vicariously through your videos. Great stuff!
Thanks for watching Sam! QM2 is still the largest by Gross Tonnage but Queen Anne is the largest by passenger capacity (3,000 vs 2,600) We still prefer the QM2. She's just so majestic! :D
I do love your reviews, they're brilliant, thank you. Regarding your comment about the Asian food venue (I have already forgotten the name or is it Aranya or something like that (araña -pronounced arania- means "spider" in Spanish
Really useful video, thanks! Very much enjoying your channel. We’re sailing on Queen Anne in May, so we’re making a list ahead of time of restaurants and bars we’d like to try, so we can hit the ground running and make the most of our week onboard 🙂 Slightly unrelated question: would you recommend buying the WiFi package for at sea?
Thank you for watching our videos and supporting our channel. With regards to WiFi, it really depends how much you need it and possibly where you are sailing. As part of our Cunard loyalty we get some internet credit so when we sailed our WiFi costs were covered by this. We did find it to be good and stable but this might vary depending on where you are sailing. Hope you have a great cruise 👍
Haha! Thank you so much. If only they realised that. :) Cunard, I hope you've noticed all the lovely free content we actually PAID HANDSOMELY to create for you. 😂
I don’t think $11 up charge in the Golden lion for a burger is acceptable …. The same burger more or less is available by the pool , the same applies for the veggie burger … just stop penny pinching when folk have already paid plenty to go on the cruise in the first instance.
Princess did this in their gastro pubs, pretty much the same burgers as you get free by the pool but upcharged, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth (the cost, not the burger).
Also , the Artisan hall buffet is nowhere near as good as other Cunard ships …. The chefs serving customers is not going down well with them according to the guy in charge of it … it’s putting a lot of strain on the manpower , and he’s hoping that the full glass front will be changed to half as soon as possible for folk to serve themselves .
Thank you so much for watching! It really does mean the world to us! Please give this video a THUMBS UP, please SUBSCRIBE and please leave us a comment too as we'd love to know your thoughts and value your feedback (oh and also we’d LOVE to hear from you). R&H x
The choices for dining appear to be excellent. I really like that they serve you at the Foodhall instead of everyone grabbing their own.
Yes Lou, the dining choices are much wider than normal for Cunard. Some lovely food on board. :)
I LOVE your dining guides!!!! As I always say, your channel is one of the absolute best on RUclips.
Thank you for your kind words Katie. 🥰

Thanks for watching. The Wellness Cafe was our overall favourite. Such an original and relaxing place. 😊
Superb presentation. The camera movement, the themed music for each venue. Just delightful to watch … as always.
Thank you so much. We try our best… ❤️
