The RC bloke is just a joke in the UK. People see like him David Brent in The Office. His Slanderous Content is on a Legal Sticky Wicket. He came on my Algorithm last week. First I thort it were a comedic pisstake then i realised the drepressing reality of it. Westminsters hands are tied due to fact that they r are light years behind Estonia when it comes to anything digital. Majority went to Eton and Oxford. Can he actually play the guitar? I mean, apart from mimicing other peoples? He certainly doesn't communicate in the language of a Virtuoso.

I tried to make my point as clear as possible. I made my video because I fucking KNEW what Rob was trying to do. He knew what his fans would do. So did I. I wanted to see if I could get just some of those fans to think twice.
Instead he just sent them at me too. Now I’m 31. I’ve been online a long time. KDH is young and I know how much shit like this can get to you when you don’t know how to deal with it.
I don’t care what people think about my video. Every word of it is true. Truth doesn’t change if it’s a 5 year old truth. I didn’t make that video 5 years ago because I didn’t need to. I needed to make the video I made for KDH.

Quality issues from an Indonesian factory ... what a surprise.
Chapman just puts his name on junk made in Indonesia. He does not lay down his own money. There is no QC done between the Indonesian factory and the retailer/end consumer. Rabea and the other guys used to do the QC from the 'world music' guitars that were made in Korea.
I would not do business with anyone who expects me do buy to order and wait for months for a product that has no support for the retailer/end consumer.
When the economy/music retail gets tighter you will see Chinese made Chapman guitars straight from the factory ... I will stack a huge wager on that!
Chapman is making money so he could care less ... the easiest thing to do is *NOT* buy his junk when you can get better guitars for the same money from other companies ...

You might not want to hear this, but that Anderton's channel exists as it does today because of Rob Chapman. When he partnered with them to do the videos he had a far larger RUclips fan base. Pete wasn't around. He came much later. I unsubscribed to both channels. Rob, because he showed his true colors with this incident. I had generally believed him to be a decent guy beforehand. I changed my mind. Andertons, because the fans in the comment section annoy me with they way they suck off all the presenters. Seriously, a few of them are really good. The rest are very, very average. I could overlook that if it was the only issue. I could just not read the comments. However, living in a town full of junkies and knowing dozens of people I used to hang out with or went to school with in the cemetery because of drugs, I can't stand watching them try to catch drains through their videos. (their noses are running because they've been putting stuff up them and they're constantly sniffing) I've seen this enough times to know what it is. Not going to be a part of it.

I've been noticing a lot more variety in drummer channels too these last few years, and as someone who always wanted but never had the spaces to properly practice percussions, it fills a hole in my heart.
I've held a few Chapman guitars. Absolute crap.
Having nearly died 19 years ago and struggled since to make life rewarding despite the subsequent ill health issues I can only recommend that you turn your backs on these (social media) playground squabbles and concentrate on making the most of every moment of the precious time you have on productive things. Focus on yourselves and your strengths and failings rather than others and avoid the anger that scrutiny of others risks above all else. Always smile and be nice in the face of rudeness and falsehood - it is the greatest comment you can ever make. Have a nice day.

The thing I liked most about this video was finding out that Glenn took his video well and wanted to do better.

Before i got married, i used to be part of the local scene in my town for many years, with my death metal band, nothing big, just for hobby an recreation, but i remember this dark side of the story, when all the other musicians were compiting and fighting eachother like if it was a sport. Gossips, egos, thrastalking and stuff, have been reaching the higher levels of the cominity, youtubers doing the same sh*t made me realize that some things will always be the same, it is the human nature i guess, that tendency of beeing destructive. Not everywhere, tho. When i still played with my death metal band, we used to help each other with other bands. Doing gigs, together, sharing rehearsal spaces, substituting when a band member can't be on the show, sharing instruments... There was zero drama at all. Now., i have no overview on the scene here, that much, but i don't think there is any drama, besides some healthy envy here and there.

I was a fairly religious watcher of his content in the 2012-2016ish era watching the reviews and blindfold challenge videos and such, but have since not watched much of his content at all in the last 4 years. When he started making guitars, I pre-ordered one of the Trans-Black Ghost Frets because I got caught up in the hype, and it was garbage, and I returned it 2 weeks after purchase. It just seems to me like with his guitar company, his music college, and other things like that recently, I just don't get it. From what it seems like, behind the scenes he is a ruthless business snake who will give you the screws and then go in front of a camera and smile and tell you how great he is. He's like a politician that way and it just rubs me wrong, because he didn't seem to be that way in the past.
I used to enjoy that stuff as well, but he just became grating after awhile...
I agree. I watched consistently during the same time frame and no longer subscribe. I quite enjoy watching the other gents but I am put off as well with Rob.

The first video I saw on this matter was Rob's. Because I've been following Rob since he started youtube, even bought the OG Chapman. So I figured someone was trolling him and that's where the vid came from. However, watching all this stuff just makes me see that Rob his slowly been losing his touch with his own Personality,

this was my experience as well. I'm hoping he pulls a John Mayer and goes on a hiatus and comes back a rejuvenated self-aware person who doesn't take himself so seriously. I have no issue with the other Anderton's dudes (captain, bea, pete, etc.) but Rob is on really thin ice here.

This man's behavior is reprehensible and should be career ending, plain & simple. Especially the malfeasance connected to the X-mas video and him blatantly lying about having no financial interest in the gear he's recommending. As you said, that's illegal. And to think I almost purchased one of his guitars (secondhand, but still). Thanks for making sure this is available for all to see. I'll make sure to steer clear of anything this guy is involved in.
This is a brilliant side by side comparison of what happens depending on how you deal with a situation like this. Glenn Fricker demonstrated that he can accept constructive criticism and as a result came out looking good whereas chapman's ego interprets any criticism as an attack leading him to act in a manner that exposes his true personality and bringing about the inevitable streisand effect.

I'm not perfect at it but I've always tried to shrink my ego and I actually feel sorry for those with the need to have theirs constantly stroked. It's just spiritual & emotional immaturity. That said, I don't wish Rob any ill fate but I pray he gets humbled for his own growth & maturity.

I actually used to be friends with "chappers"; was there at the beginning of his forum, attended the festival he put on (Monkeyfest - was actually part of the crew), helped give opinions and feedback on the creation of the original Chapman Guitars ML-1, was there for a few recordings of Andertons videos, and am incredibly lucky to count some of the musicians he used in his "charity campaign" as dear friends even now. Which makes it all the more difficult to see how damn far he has fallen due to the massive ego he's lugging around now. Bah.
Thank you for this video though. It IS important that people stand up to this ridiculously self righteous, hideous mentality of "I have internet powers, you cannot stop me and no one can see my lies".

omg, I have no idea who you are but I used to follow Mr Chapman (can't bring myself to type "chappers"). There is a trail of "destruction" in his wake. Pervious band members that he used and left by the wayside, endorsements, other shops guitar reviews (prior to Andertons). People who I just don't recall their names... What ever happened to the guy who built a studio in his home, played drums and used to do the Andertons audio setup during the video's......
Anyway, there have been so many and I have probably missed lots since I unsubscribed years ago.

Within 5 years, he went from putting on a festival "by guitarists,for guitarists" (including a big fat meat loaded burger van) to trying to squeeze out as many money spinning products as he could, and seeming to publicly demonize anyone who didn't agree with him and his hoardes of fanboys.

This is what chaffs me about him criticizing a 17 year old's playing. He does that shit! I had to quit watching his guitar review videos because 1. The arrogance was showing and 2. that nauseating repetitive playing. He's such an overrated success.

Super disappointing. I'd been a huge Chapman fan and advocate for a long time. With consistent evidence springing up against him I've changed my mind on him.

As a CEO of a big brand, frontman of a successful band, guitar clinician, promoter of Andertons, other retailers and RUclipsr. It would of spoken LEAGUEs if he had just kept his mouth shut and stayed away from all the drama. He waded into it and all the skeletons in his closet started tumbling out and these skeletons are starting to eat away at the image of his brand that he had created over so many years. Not only does this affect him but it also affects all that are associated with him. Since so much dirty laundry has been uncovered, some people are probably less likely to shop at Andertons after finding out what a kind of guy Chappers is when the cameras are off.
I was subbed to him many years ago when he was just a small youtuber with 100k'ish subs and he was talking about giving guitar lessons via skype and making guitar tuition and tips videos but that slowly turned into his dream of making internet-colab made guitars.
Im not going to knock him for having a dream and ambition. if anything at all his wrecks to riches is a success story and he he should be praised for holding on long enough to his dream to see it through.
But when you start Threatening people. Boasting about your achievements, Airing dirty laundry you have on other people and throwing former partners or friends under the bus to keep up with your lies...
Youve destroyed whatever goodwill & your brand that you've built up over the years... All that hard work all destroyed because you couldnt keep your mouth shut and not only that - you have influenced your community to go out and attack those who are speaking out against you...

Well said. I initially subbed his channel for the Anderton's content there. I still subscribe to them, but no longer RC. I just felt the content without Anderton's just wasn't as entertaining. It started to seem more about him, than music. That's fine. It's his channel, and he can post what he wants. It just didn't entertain me anymore. It became limited in scope, and didnt have the same level of fun and information that Anderton's still maintains. (Kudos to Anderton's!).
The points made here are interesting. If what has been brought to light is indeed true, I'm sure it will have an effect on his leadership, and sales. To what extent, time can only tell.
Being an educator and touring musician, myself, it was nice to see a guy like Rob get successful. It was smart of him to get on board with Anderton's. It was smart to try to build his own brand of guitars. (Still would like to try one, but my local guitar center refuses to carry them, because the manager feels they aren't worth it. Would like to make that decision of my own accord, however)
My meager little channel is just a tiny little corner of creative content, so by no means am I trying to dog on "more important" creators. I just want to say it would be very disappointing if all the things brought to light are indeed fully factual. I do have to salute the bravery of these guys to shine a light on it. Just going to wait and see how this all plays out.

His Glenn Fricker episode was absolutely solid. I felt the same way he did long before he made the video. Glenn is a whiny hack who will threaten companies with bad reviews if they don't give him shit for free. But good on Glenn for reaching out to KDH privately.
I do think his Rob episode delved a bit too much into personal attacks and inane criticisms (like yawning) which detracted from his solid points.

But this is all part of our consumerism and us trying to "complete" our tone and playing by buying stuff which is really not needed. That's why many of these big reviewers develop slowly as musicians. They're businessmen. I like Dovy because he makes music. I can't take someone like Glenn Fricker seriously because his guitar playing is crap and his mixing and producing doesn't sound special or good to my ears either. I’ve heard so many horrendous things regarding Rob Chapman that none of this surprises me. Happy to see his guitars being removed from both U.K. and U.S. outlets. I feel so sorry for my friends who have had to deal with him over the years. At least they kept him away from their endorsements. I hope that the dismissal of his brand is a wake up call for him and that he can find the humility to apologise to those most scathed by his actions. It feels a bit inconsiderate to jump on someone with such a fledgling company but at the same time it’s important to conduct yourself humanely; even in business.

I remember when he put out those chapman guitars years ago. Nothing special about them. I was 28 years old when i saw this nonsense first.. I am now 41... Stay away from this dude.

I think Lee is a Director of Chapman Guitars (from companies house). He is still heavily involved but i would certainly like to think that Lee and the Andertons brand is looking to distance themselves from Chapman. I have certainly seen a lot less chapman guitars related content (or none at all) in the last year or two. People should definitely read the Riff city Article in the description. It is very well worded and quite damning of Chappers.
Ive lost a lot of respect for chapman and chapman guitars but that doesnt mean im going to stop watching him on the andertons youtube channel.

I had respect for rob, always would watch him and the captain, i always enjoyed rob's playing and i thought he was a decent guy, funnily enough, i didn't realise Chapman guitars was his brand, i guess i never cared enough to dig that deep into it. No matter, this video certinly made me loose quite a bit of respect for the guy, though i never knew him and still don't, i respected him for his playing ability, knowledge and personality "from what little curated bits i could actually see" But not now as much, stuff like this painted the man in a different light, its sad, it seems there are many people out there who would do far better with the fame, money and brand he has then what hes doing with it him self. Andertons and Chap started to create really original content ( like the “sound like” series, blindfolded challenges, the kids guitar vs pro guitar Jackson minion, etc) and thats why I watched them. Lately they haven’t created much vids like that. But they did hit a blindspot because that type of content isn’t that common here on RUclips and Imo that’s the reason they blew up! ( hey that’s how I heard of Andertons and started watching)
I only know Andertons since August when picked up an old, not successful hobby again.
So, watched pretty much all blindfold challenges and some guitar reviews - the chemistry between Rob and Lee is just great - or was. Because I watched years of videos within a few weeks - mind, not in chronological order; I still noticed, body and facial expressions, that things started not to be at their best and recent development shows that this relationship must have suffered somewhere as Rob seems to do more of his own stuff and Andertons does not have him on so much anymore.
It's the other guys.
I personally don't find the other videos as entertaining as Rob and Lee where - it's like with TopGear, the 3 old idiots where just better then the new 3 idiots - the same is with Andertons. It has nothing to do how good they play, how much they know they gear. It's a sales pitch, and with Lee and Rob, it did not always did feel like, they try to sell you something, it came over a bit neutral - however the recent videos are in the face sale - and therefore it feels bias and therefor I can't trust their review - if you want to call it one.
It's business - I know.
Now, I watch smaller, hopefully more independent channels regarding reviews and the last Anderton video I saw, was NAMM with Pete at the Fender stand.
I'm just revisiting this now and it is a shame that this whole situation messed up the 'Glory Days' of Andertons content tbh. Used to watch 'Sounds Like' with Rabea and Matt religiously every Wednesday. I mostly follow their own channels and Insta as well now and also it's shined a light on Danish Pete and his incredible playing too which is good news.
I even feel bad for watching the chappers and the captain stuff, I have become a KDH fan recently, don't let online bullys put you off dude they are as full of shit as chappers himself.
