I don't see you did The Greatest Show on Earth - possibly the pinnacle of Nightwish (with GLS and PatP of course).
That "WHOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" by Marco is one of my favorite notes of Nightwish songs. :)
Any metal band would consider themselves lucky to have a singer the likes of Marko alone yet we get Marko AND Floor.

Wjen you listen to studio versions its probably not Floor singing either. There were two singers before her.
Nice reaction once again. Anything from Nightwish is awesome, and this Wacken 2013 Concert is best of the best. If you wanna hear something creepy and unique, try Scaretale. it's with their previous singer, Anette Olzon. There is some "official live" video, but it's not that good, and you really need to hear the orchestration on this song.
You should also listen to the studio version of Storytime, that one is imo better than the live version which as you noted is VERY rare for Nightwish.

Remember this: any song you hear from this Wacken 2013 concert was written for one of the two previous front women. It's them you'll hear on the album versions. If you compare you'll notice that Floor gives her own twist on each and everyone of them.
One thing you really need in your Nightwish experience is Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembly. It is their most epic and emotional rollercoaster of a song in my opinion. 🤘🤘

I am sorry but gonna have to say no. Experience is only different. With studio it comes down to mix and other sound design decisions. Do those ad or take away something from the story.
Let´s not put something down. Simply to praise something else.
Sometimes it just feels to me that Rammstein has too much of crazy shit going on on the stage. It is such a sensory overload that the music itself almost is covered under all the other things going on. Nightwish has just enough effect to make the show look awesome but it does not take away from the music. Anyone can have their opinion of it and I still fucking love Rammstein so this is not to take anything away from them. Just a difference I appreciate in Nightwish live shows over Rammsteins.

All the big DVD shows are epic. This one. Tampere 2015. Wembly 2015. Buenos Aires 2018. They are all incredible.

This is on of the biggest thruths that you said about live performance of Nightwsih compares to their studio version of the songs! Nightwish is a one of the best live live performance bands! I personally listen 90% the live version of the songs.
and this was Floor's first great festival performance at that time she wasn't even a year in the band and indeed other concerts are great to i haven't hear a bad Nightwish song with Floor yet.....normal you have to hear a song a couple of times and then it becomes a good track with Nightwish i have to hear it one time and then i'm digging it great reaction btw thnx

I think this is the most gorgeous song of them...the combine of voices.....pfffffff and then the end!!! Amazing!
So cool, man. Tarja sang the studio version of Ghost Love Score. Floor added so much more vocal emotion and power to that song. In my small opinion, Floor sings Ghost Love Score the way it should have been originally recorded. Not taking anything away from Tarja... but Floor rocks it right.

Yeah, both Tarja and Anette were well above average singers and Floor blows them both out of the water
I grew up on Tarja and got a little bit out of touch with the band when she left. I knew of floor s existence in after forever but never really looked into the. Now after many many years I've come back to nightwish and at first it felt wrong to me because the version you heard first is always stuck in your head but I now after having listened to it and a couple of other songs a couple more times I do agree. Tarja s voice is beautiful and amazing and she is great when she is in her operatic element but I did always feel the songs were intended to have more intense contrast within switching from lovely to rough raw and I feel Floor isn't afraid to take it to those more extremes.

Nightwish is a touring band, as in they put out an album and then immediately start touring (for the most part). They spend the bulk of their time doing this and as such their live shows have a great deal of production, not to mention the musicianship and vocal ability involved. I believe you were made aware of their history of their previous lead vocalists (they have had three) and most of the studio albums are recorded with either of the previous two vocalists. The current lead vocalist, Floor Jansen, of whom you have seen in this and the previous reactions, is only on their last album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" and the upcoming album "Human. :II: Nature.". All live shows from mid 2012 - present are with her as well.

There are nightwish fans out there who ONLY listen to the live versions of their songs, rather than the studio albums. Personally, I was introduced to these guys in high school in 2003 when I was 15, and it was the albums we all fell in love with (because youtube was only just starting really, and we didnt have live videos) so the albums are very dear to me still, but there is no doubt that they are one of the best live bands around, and also Floor changed Ghost Love score alot in terms of how she sings it versus the original singer, Tarja who is operatic (at some point you should check out their 2005 performance of phantom of the opera- its soooooo good!) :) Ok so after Storytime, you could check out a song from the wembley show in 2015, you could check out Shudder before the beautiful - basically we are going to want you to work your way through all the concerts, wacken, wembley, Tampere, End of an era and then Buenos aires.You seem like a man who is up for that challenge! :)

Marco's performance of High Hopes (cover of Pink Floyd song) from End of an Era DVD is a must-see, I don't know if anyone else has expressed that yet. It really highlights Marco specifically in a way that we don't often get to see since he doesn't usually do full songs on his own.

All the songs from this show were originally recorded with either Tarja (the original vocalist) or Annette (second vocalist) so that accounts for some of the studio vs live difference, as well as just years of experience. They have only released one studio album (so far) with Floor. If you check that one (Endless Forms Most Beautiful) out, you’ll hear something closer to what you’re hearing live.

Yes, Nightwish has no bad songs, just great or amazing songs and 3 master symphonies (Ghost love score, The poet and the Pendulum and The greatest show on earth). As you are discovering, in symphonic metal you never know what's going to come next, they don't use the typical songs structure... Like in previous comments, I suggest you to also react to EPICA, to see a heavier side of this amazing music (Nightwish heaviest songs are what Epica does usually...

I am split between the live version and the complete studio version of this because the second part is out of the charts.. At the end of the day Nightwish has 2-3 different versions of the same song because of their history with the other 2 singers. A treat.

Nice reaction! This song was the one played immediately after Ghost Love Score. A good portion of the lyrics of this song come from the very long poem of the same name. By Walt Whitman, (Circa 1892). For your next NW song reaction I would suggest either 'Ever Dream or 'Storytime' from this same Wacken 2013 concert.

Nightwish doesn't play down to thier fans. They create songs. Don't worry if it breaks up what every other band is doing. They don't assume that thier audience can't grasp a change in the songs. An don't cookie cutter thier songs. That's why none of thier songs are predictable. Now with the new albums. Even old nightwish army. Get the same feeling of anticipation again. Not knowing what to expect.

so i will feel "pushed" to oblige, Song of My Self is inspired by Walt Whittmans "Song of my self" Cyvle. Tuomas (the Keyboarder and Composer of Nightwish) often calls Whittman "my Hero Uncle Walt" after Robin Williams in the "Dead Poets Society", Tuomas wrote the Song while overcoming his Depression after the Dark Passion Play Era (the Poet and the Pendulum deals with that time)
There Studio version (and a very good fan video with snippets of wacken) has Diary entrys and letters written to and by Tuomas in it that show his Thoughts in that time

If it hasnt happened already, I still guarantee you will call Floor a goddess before long ;) I said something similar to the ghost love score video, that I really do enjoy your reaction. It feels honest. And personally I dont mind the 'abuse' of the pause button lol. As you said in previous video, if a song is long, its hard to remember to comment on what happend 8 minutes ago in the song. I'm really looking forward to Storytime, its not in the heavy category. I wont spoil anything though. Same goes for the other *big* (not heavy) songs like "poet and the pendulum"(emotions is the keyword there), and "greatest show on earth". Storytime is a perfect song to play to get your mood up ;) so looking forward to that one.
Also two videos now where you get introduced to Marco's amazing voice :) And not only is Floor amazing, but everyone deserves SO much praise. Tuomas on the keyboard for example, one day you will say he's a genius, I just know it ;)
