It's pretty crazy to watch that thing push those 10k lbs up some of these hills or keep the grip during a descent on some flat rocks. Obviously not a vehicle of choice for some crazy long offroading through Australian continent, but looks like a lot of fun to take it for an afternoon trip on some outbacks. For that I actually like the fact that this isn't a gas guzzler. I don't know how to put it in words but feels more suitable for a trip out to the nature, I guess?
What has it come to that when I can choose between this and an SL65, I pick your offroad video to watch first. 😂Always tons of fun and I love that you make these videos as long as they are.
I work on the assembly line that builds these and it's so cool to see them in action and also to see that people are enjoying them quite a lot! Seeing this makes the long hours feel a bit more worth it.
That's cool, not everyone gets to see their work put to use so publicly. I'd imagine it's satisfying. Vehicle looks really nice.
At least this Hummer have proper shifter, unlike most new car right now, which have button shifter or dial shifter (really?). The lever shifter is always feel better!
I agree. its always those moments when you do a quick 3 point turn in some traffic that you long for a normal shifter in a funky car.
@@TedwardDrives Imagine doing a J-turn in button shifter or dial shifter... . The fact that you can make quick manuver with normal shifter is indisputable.
Looking like a really smooth ride, cool what hummer is putting out in the future of EVs
Off Road Tedward videos are always a treat
Spotted my first one in the wild today. Looked to have 24 inch wheels with rubberband tires. Nice to see you offroading this one!
Gotta love the people who buy massive trucks and off road vehicles just to put rubber band tyres on them and drive them to and from work.
Dream car! Thanks for video!
Never been in one, probably never will, but the forklift reference was perfect.
loved it! more videos offroading please
Share it! People don’t tend to watch off road as much
Very cool!
I'm not an ev person but that was pretty impressive!
That's what every ev person has said before they got into an EV. Trust me, once you try it, ICE is far too boring and slow to ever want again.
Awesome video. Your low-key terror added a lot of flavor :D
again i say, hi ted!
Hi!
@14:16 that boi do be humming tho
11:20
Ted I would argue that this Hummer EV is MORE efficient off roading than it is cruising on public roads. Electric cars lose efficiency as you increase speed, ask any Tesla owner, you lose significantly more range going from 65 to 75mph than you would from 55 to 65 mph, for example. It's not a linear scale. When you're crawling below 20mph, it can't be that bad.
Wait did you do this with jerryrigeverything? Cause he uploaded a similar video
What's Inside as well
He was probably invited to a promotion event organised by the company
@@sha22276 yea probably
@@sujalalmeida3726 not even probabably, this was organised by GM PR. He even says so in the video.
Ngl if I had to drive an EV it would probably be this one.
These things look ready to explore mars.
Welcome to southern Utah! Glad you got here before the summer heat. How's the air-conditioning in the Hummer?
A+ Aircon! Plus cooled seats. Stress free desert life
s t r e s s !
gj bro!
love the offroad videos and it makes sense with vehicles like these to see them in their natural habitat and not just on a highway! about walkie talkies, would you say they're a feasible option for roadtrips? we've got 2-3 cars leaving this summer and going through different countries and we figured being able to communicate instantaneously would be super helpful but I don't know how capable a "basic" walkie talkie is when surrounded by a metal box
Basic walkies are amazing. Only way to do a road trip with multiple cars
@@TedwardDrives thanks a lot! i was really worried about the range but i guess absolute worst scenario i could return them
One of the few electric cars I would like to drive 👌
Ralph 10/10
If Ralph didn't already have a job at GM, I'd say he'd make an amazing co-host 🐾
Proper stuff
Love you bro
Looks cool but I’d never own one if I was able to afford it.
I wish they made a duramax version.
the new H1 Alpha haha, weighs 10k pounds and is even more ridiculous xD
Hell… i think id even take the diesel from the 1500 series trucks.
They do have a cool factor but I'm not gonna lie whenever I see one at an intersection I always wonder how horrible it'll be to get in an accident with one.
Yeah and the owners don’t even care about that. What a dumb vehicle
@holmieg3435 You should see the typical drivers of Cadillac Escalades or Chevy Tahoes. All they care about is how they look and when their next government support check is coming in lol
OMG MOAB! 🏜️😍 One of the actual coolest places on Earth. Spent spring break of my freshman year of college there and it was incredible!
Absolute death machines. The battery in these things weighs as much as a Honda Civic
Go hide under your bed kid..
Yes. In the hands of the wrong driver these can be dangerous, what a revelation.
I love how the EV hummer is now more hummer than ever, it weighs more than it ever did, over 3 times more powerful, and just as inneficient and huge as the diesel H1 lmao. Brilliant and awful at the same time.
That about sums it up.
One wrong scrape or impact and poof! Onboard fire 🔥
That’s what the skid plates and rocker guards are for
@@TedwardDrives good luck with the brands renowned reputation for solid engineering to keep that from happening.
I know it’s tacky, first
Naw it’s cool 😎
What would be really cool is a POV drive of an R129 Mercedes ;)
Or a Unimog.
Screw the EV's
as someone who would probably not ever buy an EV when there are ICE options, holy shit is the EV hate childish
@@avi-if9eg real
@@avi-if9eg every day there are more and more electric shitboxes on the road and if this stupid political electric car bs continues (at least where I live in Europe, I don't know for you AmEriCaNs who probabbly don't have a single clue where Croatia is) we won't have any real ICE cars in a few years and I don't want that to happen, so obviously I will comment my opinion and argue about it
Ban ICE!
The EV haters are usually the ones who can't afford an EV in the first place. That being said, hybrids are the future. Not fully EV, and as much I hate for say it, ICEs will be less and less common in the coming decades.
lul, screens in a "car"... skip
I got bad news for ya... There's a screen in every car.
@@TedwardDrives _EVERY_ one of them huh? xD good thing i prefer two wheels lul
@@griffon2-6 every bike that's the same year as this hummer has screens as well
@@trashbandit2449 lmao, sure buddy
