Hey Gino's I wrote a 1 man opera clasdical guitar, in spanish, it's on my channel I could play for you guys I go to Pennsylvania sometimes, I play for free just try to bring something new to people
I'm always proud to be from Philadelphia & the neighborhood that gave us the Eagles (Frankford and the FKD Yellowjackets) but when I see these videos, I feel warm & fuzzy! Just incredible!
This is awesome. I will have to talk to the Symphony Orchestra where I live at and ask them if they would consider making some Random Acts Of Culture videos.
we don't have this in California. NO. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT SANDWICHES! California, like many states, has wonderful arts houses. but we don't have random acts of culture. Philadelphia, you have it good!
I don't live in Philadelphia any longer. I haven't for nearly 15 yrs and I've never found an opera company I like as much. Also, they had some sort of deal where you could buy "abbreviated" season tickets, which I could afford.
Jon Savell I also used to have the "abbreviated" season tickets for the Phila Ballet and Phila orchestra, as well as the Walnut Street Theatre. Those were the days...
Fifi, I am sorry. I do hope that you can enjoy good opera in person again. Sometimes the local movie theater plays performances of the Metropolitan Opera on film. It can be quite good. If nothing else, opera DVDs with a couple of friends can be rewarding. Have a good evening! Sincerely, Jon Savell
I do NOT understand I have a brand new state of the art PC I paid $10000 for a month ago. It has an octacore processor that runs 40GHZ. I have a commercial line from my provider that gives me down load speed of 100kbps and yet inexplicably RUclips keeps freezing up every time I watch any video.
Ameise1971 Well I don't have this problem with any other website. I watch streaming videos on my 60 inch hi def monitor and have no problem at all. But the moment I want to watch a postage stamp size video on RUclips it's like I went back 20 years. I use IE for my browser. I have no idea how to do what you suggest. My octacore acts as a single CPU as far as I know. When I open the performance window in Task manager, while attempting to watch a RUclips video it just shows a green line across the bottom of all 8 windows. On my previous computer with a quad core processer it was always half way up each window. My memory display also shows a blue line at the bottom of the screen. My Tech guy says the only solution is to not go on RUclips since they are constantly trying to load junk on your computer but I like or rather used to like watching the videos.
The problem is the youtube-script, that is run when you want to watch a vid here. Thy systemload wont increase magnificiently when you watch a video. When running your browser, open taskmanager, rightclick the process of your browser and then look in the popup-menu for somthing like "set affinity" (Sorry, dunno the exact english phrase, me german). the upcoming window explains itself, just reduce the number of used cores for your browser from 8 down to 2, thats more than enough. ;)
Ameise1971 Hi, I don't speak German but I have a friend who went to Engineering school in Germany who can translate. Could you send your reply again but leave it in German and I will have him translate for me. Thanks!
I always wonder what the unsuspecting victims of these flash opera mobs tell their spouses when they show those camera photos.....well, it was really interesting.
Where's the orchestra??? I'd rather hear it as it was done on the street: w/o music! It must have been much more powerful & tougher for the choras! Heck; give them credit for doing it the hard way! "And dat's da truth!"
Please bring these Random Acts of Culture back! We need them more than ever in 2024!
Thank you Opera Co of Phila for again taking the joy of art and music directly to people. The smiles say it all.
I enjoy each of these videos so much I can't get enough, they have a medicinal effect.
This wonderful. People who probably say they don't like opera are smiling and enjoying this!! I LOVE IT.
Every time I see one of these videos I cry. It's such a wonder thing that you are doing. I wished that I lived in Philadelphia!
This is really cute! Thank you for performing at Geno's!

IL TROVATORE - GIUSEPPE VERDI - ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL AND VERY GLADLY! THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I'm always proud to be from Philadelphia & the neighborhood that gave us the Eagles (Frankford and the FKD Yellowjackets) but when I see these videos, I feel warm & fuzzy! Just incredible!

What a brilliant way to promote opera to the masses!! BRAVI to you all!! :-))
Love love loved it! Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection!
Wonderful! Opera Philly setting the standard for flash mob opera once again :)
The opera company of Philadelphia, and Geno's steaks are the two best things Philly has going for it.
I’d include the orchestra in there somewhere too!
Wonderful!!
Me too!!! it's so exciting, I just love it!!!
stupendo, l'ARTE è VITA
This is awesome. I will have to talk to the Symphony Orchestra where I live at and ask them if they would consider making some Random Acts Of Culture videos.
Proud to be from the Philly 'burbs
Only way it could have been better was if they were at Pats! Great sounds, but they deserve better steaks!
Superb.

How many of those people weren't part of the Opera Company but just happened to have a tamborine with them?
los amo!
we don't have this in California.
NO. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT SANDWICHES!

Jon Savell I used to have season tickets to the opera. I wish I'd never let them go. Sigh...
Fifi, what happened? Why are you unable to get season tickets again?

Great fun.
Check out the "Cheesesteak" t-shirt one of the singers is wearing!
brutal love it
Hahaaaaa, that guy's "Get it on!" at 1:45...
Bravi tutti! Sure it's pretty epic live...
Finally they get it right.
Geno's cheesesteaks are delicious.

The problem is the octacore. Reduce the usage of firefox (or what browser you use) down to one or two cores and you should be fine. ;)

No problem, in German its "Zugehörigkeit festlegen". :) Have nice Easter!
Nel paese dell'opera lirica NON CI SONO QUESTE MANIFESTAZIONI --- SVEGLIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To those uninitiated, "wit" in Philly-speak, means "with" (cheese) - on the Philly Steak Sandwich.
wait, this is phiily? i can't believe no on booed!! i mean, they booed santa claus one year.
Ha Ha --great!! ---I do believe this represents Italian culture a bit more than cheese steaks wit cheez whiz!
at least they didn't boo them like they did santa claus that time.
I always wonder what the unsuspecting victims of these flash opera mobs tell their spouses when they show those camera photos.....well, it was really interesting.

Thanks to Bugs Bunny my generation knows this music.
My _Cheese Steak_ place sux. They don't do this.
I've got to pay for my opera.
No! Really? (Hint: we aren't stupid.)
No, you do not.
