If they used an all metal construction I think it would be worth it. I can’t really see the justification to sell these for $200. Keep in mind you can buy a metal dolly for under $100 and will last for pretty much eternity. I guess I got to wait for the fuel version where they ditch the plastic construction
Hey! What alternatives you can recommend to transport your packout set? Thanks!
All metal construction... Dream on.
Just isnt cost effective for the chinese from a resources standpoint.
You remember about 15 years ago when EVERYone was selling those stainless steel rollaway tool chests, at low prices? I got one branded hammerhead from Costco. Looks awesome and no weak points. 56" wide, it was $700.
Anyway about a year later they all disapeared. Couldnt find em at any price. The steel market had soared for whatever reason, making the product priced out of its own market.
Plastic can be okay as long as the engineers are meticulous and dont ignore inherent weak spots.
It could be argued that a metal equivilent would be so bent and rusted over time theyd still see equal endurance.
The plastic had its advantages though it’s better on a job site working around finish work. The plastic skid frame will not scratch treads or stair nose, it’s lighter and don’t have to worry about bumping into casings it won’t dent them. Plus it’s got a lifetime warranty and Milwaukee warranty is absolutely great last time I used it I ended up on the phone with product manager for the new tool I had problems with and got a replacement overnight. Realistically if there ends up being a design related failure and a gen 2 is released they will probably send you the new one if the original fails. I don’t see that happening though I had almost 400 lbs on mine today without any issues wish I got it sooner instead of reading bad reviews.
Metal dolly with packout mounts on it would be cheaper.
@@batvette the Packout is not made on China. It is made in Israel.
Great Video! Lot’s of good information and great comparison to the rolling box.
Hi,
Yes, the video is helpful. Some youtubers don't like the new hand cart style. Let us know how it feels after you fill all the containers with tools and move it around.
Also, maybe a bungee cord around the milk crate section. This might hold it closer to the cart rails.
Thanks for the video
Packibletool makes the Joey and its it's a mount for the packout rolling box to let you connect boxes on the front
Great two wheel cart, good review man!!
Yoo that wire spool idea 🔥
LIKE THE SMACK IT AROUND TESTING.
Great video! Thanks so much!!!
Gotta buy em all. They all got a purpose on my job
Great VIdeo! Learned alot from this content. Thanks!
Great now I gotta get the dolly
Hey brother cousin 🤙🏽
Great intel on the pack out ... I’m pretty sure that you can lock in the back of the system to the dolly?
The idea of interlocking singles and doubles is a very solid approach... I’m a dedicated Makita man ☝🏽.... And right now Makita .. has Shit the bed on pack out systems.. !
Milwaukee has My solutions... especially with the new Hand cart ... 🤔🤘🏽
I got the packout system ended up using it on one job then quit using it too big plus having to remove the top to get to the bottom was a pain.
I will say that if you were to rig up some sort of wire spool holder (which would be pretty simple to do) the spools would be smaller in diameter than the wheels on the dolly. Unless of course you put the carrier on the outside of the frame rails themselves. But you could make one and have it simply hook over the top part of the top/upper most cross bracket on the dolly handle.
Great review. Ive got a lot of the packout system. Im waiting on the drawers. I hope M wont delay them like some of the stuff from last year. I like the idea of the cart except the price. When you consider no more than they have in production costs, its about double what it should be. Profit is profit, but geesh M.
Yeah I can’t wait for those drawers either.
I agree the drawers look sweet but way overpriced. Can find cheaper alternatives to accomplish same functions. The dolly is also overpriced.
If you think about it they aren’t THAT far off. For a standard Decent dolly you pay 70+ add two packout mounts like what comes in this and your at 130 then long tool storage in the back. I’d say 150$ would have been right on but then you have to add the red tax. It’s just too bad they never run sales on it although every once in a while you can get 30$ off 200$ from acme tools that’s what I did and got it for 170$ it was worth it though love this thing no more lugging my packout cooler/toolbox/radio/vacuum. Plus I can now move appliances by myself instead of calling for a coworker!
You can also put 3 spools of wire in that crate! Nice for spooling off wire in a pinch. Just slide some 1/2" conduit through the handles! Nice review man! 👍🏼🇺🇸
Great idea
JakeofAll was prototyping a spool holder in the pack out crate too.
I actually drilled out holes on each side of milk crate so that 1/2 emt will go through crate and through spools of wire
Went and picked mine up from a supply house with my 435i lmao
I think the xl toolbox on the bottom of the Dolley would be a good potential idea
Been waiting for the dolly!...heard some of them already breaking tho cause of the plastic.
If it breaks it’s because they were really hard on it... it’s a very strong plastic.. like the tool boxes.
@@drainmonkeys385 I don't think it's as tough as the fiberglass reinforced packout boxes, but I do think you're right about them having abused it. Unfortunately, in my mind that Milwaukee label means it's supposed to be able to hold up to some abuse. I've come to the conclusion this is a packout moving tool first and it's dolly functionality is a far second.
The plastic is super strong. In fact It has more glass fiber reinforcement then your average tool plastic. Is visible in the black plastic .
Damn!!! Those tools are so expensive here in my country, if only I could manage to buy 'em, even the empty boxes to store something hahaha
They're expensive here too. This guy gets him tools from TTi for free if he makes a favorable video... hence that's why he drives a BMW with a ton of tools
@@anynamey that's illegal. Can't ask for favorable reviews. They are expensive yes but for a professional it's a system that can be built over time.
@@cliffordbaker8534 lol. It should he illegal but its not on RUclips. FCC regulations do not extend to RUclips content as far as truth in advertising rules go. Especially if it isn't directly from the company.
For sake of argument let's just say they don't ask for a favorable review, just a review. Then they offer up thousands of dollars of product for free, let the channel "review" products before they're released which has a direct impact on a channels ability to stay relevant. If TTi doesn't like the content they stop sending products. How critical do you really think a reviewer is going to be? The whole thing is a ruse and RUclips is filled with shills, albeit there are some likeable ones.
@@anynamey This would apply more to FTC than FCC. And sure a free product would be looked at differently than a product someone paid for. I do not believe that is what happened here but only the creator can say. I personally doubt he or anyone would risk it with all the other ways this can generate money for him.
Honestly, I just thought it was funny that you were hating on his success. Whatever that may be. This is a decent set but not the most expensive thing.
So the og rolling box can't be used with the dolly, so I would have to buy the dolly and the big box without the wheels?
Nice!!!
Do you have internal measurement of trolley?
An excellent and honeemst review m. Thanks and bless your soulbsir.
Huh yeah can I fit the packout base cart in my ford fiesta back and front seat. I wanna get a hatchback so it fits easier
JakeOfAll has some pull pins that you can use to modify the handle on the rolling Packout bottom box and make it removable. It replaces the screws that secure the big handle at the bottom of the case. Store.JakeOfAll.com
the packout fits perfectly in the hatchback ford focus. that is what I have, I actually took my packout to the dealer before I bought the car to make sure it would fit. It did so I bought it.
@@devinnelson5410hey that's a good
idea.
I’ll buy those boxes you don’t need or want!
How has the durability held up? That's my only concern.
You lost me at the BMW bit.
I use a Dodge Charger and stowability of the Packouts was a big concern, the dolly would hardly be an exception
6:15 the bottom plate seems awfully flexy.
Too much plastic for the money. Could be a packout or two taller.
It definitely costs too much. But having bought and returned it, and then trying to diy a bunch of other solutions over the last few months, only to come back and buy it again, I've come to the conclusion that if there is a solution that works better irl, I can't find it. Tons of stuff seemed better in my head, but just didn't work out as nicely.
That new dolly seem flimsy and cumbersome.
Where do you get these red boxes?
Here in Germany I only can get black boxes
United States it’s funny because you guys get the black ones and we want those just as much as you want the red ones.
@@BlakesGarage right! Is so backwards. I just came across the black set on eBay. Asking $700 tho! They look better in black tho
I've heard the wheels fall off.
That's the rolling tool box that has that issue.
They can! They rely on cotter pins just like most wheel barrows so I could see it happening but hasn’t been an issue with mine. You would have to somehow knock the pins out though they don’t just fall off.
has the Milwaukee packout 2 wheel cart proven to be durable or has it broken or cracked since you have been using it? I am skeptical to purchase it.
It’s all plastic
I use mine today to unload a full pallet of vinyl plank. Every load I put exactly 360 lbs on it so I was just under the rated limit and absolutely no problem with it. Every day I haul my packout setup in and out of jobs up and down stairs my setup including packout cooler and radio is probably around 150-200 lbs and it’s hardly noticeable unless I’m lifting it up steps. It’s bigger then you would expect from pictures but seriously as awesome dolly also it’s really easy to lift stoves/washers/dryers with it because the base it like double the size of a normal dolly so it won’t tip forward while you lifting it up.
Also the plastic frame skids slide really well on hardwood and carpet steps. If you work residential you’ll be happy you bought it as it won’t scratch up the homeowners steps
What one?
The base box doesn't fit under tonneau covers either
Good to know yeah that’s a big no go for lots of guys then. This is definitely a lot better and just add a Packout baseplate and then you can snap in the Packout when driving and just click it into the Dolly when you get to the job site. So much more versatile to load out.
It doesn’t until you mod that quick release handle.
"Ruggedness"?! I love Milwaukee tools, but when you flicked that box and said "Ruggedness" it looked to me like a decent gust of wind would have f*ucked it off into Narnia, or even better China. So disappointed with the flimsiness of it, even annoyed.
Cheers for the review still mate
For price, it should be more solid & strong. China is going to copy & underprice @ this price point. 😥
Sounds like a pitch from a big time commission sales person rather than a tool reviewer
What kind of Electrical do you do out of a BMW?
I drive to my job lol. But every once and a while old do some side work.
For Electrical work , check out Hilit redipak Hand dolley .
did you mean Hilti?
@@jamdc2000 Yes , The Hilti redipak Hand is all metal . It more expensive, you get what you pay for.
@@jayturley4066 the Hilti brand here in Guatemala is twice as expensive as Milwaukee, but the quality feels so good, I went once for a demonstration, damn those tools are great
it is plastic and not worth 200.. maybe 100
yap. too much money for sth that flimsy. WTF
Yea Chinese plastic and a rip off price.
Get real a basic dolly is 70-100, it’s priced high but really 150$ would be about right. If you watch acme tools you can get it for 170$ when they run the 30$ off 200$ sale and I think that’s pretty close to a fair price. Literally my favorite dolly I’ve ever used so far.
“Which one...”
If you want to sell those m12 cases let me know
Hey DM me on IG @Blakesgarage I have a bunch I’ll sell super cheap.
Hahaha I wouldn't dare bang my tools in an m4 😂😂👍
Haha I've been to pick and pull in mine 😂
The dolly is not really that durable. It’s made of plastic
It’s very durable for it’s intended purpose. The way it’s built it will support over the weight no problem but if you were to try and break it sure it’s not as rigid as metal. It has a lifetime warranty though and Milwaukee absolutely backs their products I used to hate on Milwaukee until I bought a vacuum that ended up having issues. Literally was on the phone with the product manager that designed it within 4 days and had a new revised m12 fuel vacuum the next day. After that I started investing in red they have been better than most tool trucks I’ve been on as far as backing their products.
It's just a box from metal gear solid
Buy a truck be a man give that pos car to your old lady and be Way happier
Yeah 80k BMW M4 is a pos okay....
@@BlakesGarage Si
👍👍🌹🌹
It's made of plastic it should be all metal
So corny 😂
seems fucking expensive for a fucking hand truck
Yeah it definitely is but I still think it’s the best solution on the market and worth the price.
U just need some draws
I agree they just came out can’t wait to get some.
Too bad the bottom packout roller doesn’t have drawers.
Not strong
1:01 Sex Doll?

So you can lock one of the milk crate style pieces to the back but unfortunately the regular stuff is just chilling. Someone need to make something that can kinda make it a bit more connected so it doesn’t wiggle around so much.
