After the first round of increases (which was 1 double crochet, one increase) the next round will be (1 double crochet in the next 2 stitches and then a increase) and the third round will be (1 double crochet in 3 stitches and then a increase) and you continue like that. When you do a slip stitch each round, do you go into that at the end of each round before you end off with another slip stitch? I’m confused. Is it considered 18th stitch when you counted for the second round ?

after you increased you are gonna do as many rounds of just double crochets until you´ve reached the point where your eye slit is gonna be. For me that were 7 rounds. So 5 rounds of increasing and then 7 rounds of normal double crochets in each stich. So I had a total of 12 rounds at that point.
Yes I did 5 rows of increases and then I continued to crochet in every stich. So no increasing and no decreasing. Once I reached a bit longer than chin length I did one row of decreases to make the neck part a bit tighter :)
I think you are doing too many increases, you should increase 12 per round. so you should adjust the increases with each round, the 1. round every other stitch, the second round every third stitch, the fourth round every fourth stitch, the fifth round every fifth stitch

I don't think so😅 after the slipknot chain 4 and then do a slip stitch in the first chain. I think that's it!
no it´s not. But you could also make a magic ring if that´s what you prefer :)

Yes! You always connect the round with a slip stich and then chain three to do the first double crochet of the next round
