Thank you so (oops so#1) much, I was so (so#2) frustrated that Brother does not seem to have made rear jams on CDW printer. I am so, (so#3) happy that I can get back to printing. Your bright mind as stopped me going out of my mind. Cheers from Sunny Western Australia.
Excellent step by step instructions, and this was so valuable. Just a little piece of black tape in the right place and I'm back up and running. My part was still in place but not covering the sensor! Thanks again!
I have a MFC L8900 that had that problem, but the parts were all there, and the part had just broken. I carefully plastic welded that part with a soldering iron, and it now works well. I had to adjust the part a couple of times after welding it. I also had to work the part around a little bit to make it work properly.
I have the HL-L3230CDW and there's am issue with the same part. Its in my printer however the end that deactivates the sensor seems to have broken off. I need to see if I can fabricate something similar. Thanks for the video.
Great video - because you pointed out the photo sensor I was able to clean mine that was blocked with paper dust and my printer now works like new again
This video is great! That same piece broke on my printer. Brother doesn't have that part. Would you be willing to share the specifications of the piece you made?
Bro you are my hero , i had the same problem , a peace missing , and I couldn’t find any information in the web , but here i found you video , thank you so much , you really are a genius , thank you , i am your fan for ever .
I have the same model, but not the same problem. Mine prints fine single sided all day look. But it thinks it is paper jammed when I print double sided. There is not paper jam that I can see. It prints side 2, but then errors when it is trying to print side 1 and ejects the page unprinted on side one. Any thoughts? Thanks all!!!
Your really have done it. The first is to know where are the sensors Second how is the function: in this case its a light barrier. Don´t forget th open rear door sensor!
depending on the model, there is no rear door sensor. My MFC-9340cdw has none, since this is how card stock and envelopes are ejected - straight out the back. One must not forget to move the grey levers to adjust the fuser for paper thickness. A, B or C.
We have one of these..If the fuser access door is open it will run, if the fuser door is closed it jams in the exit assembly. We have replaced the Fuser and Eject assembly with no success. any ideas..
Thank you for your video. I have an MFC L8600, bigger question I simply can not find an answer to. About 4-5 inches above the fuser are 2 feed rollers. - What are those rollers called - Paper hits them and jam, the rollers do not spin to pull the paper through. If I can find the name, I can find the assembly or switch.. Thank you for any advice you may have.
I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it could be "eject roller" or "heat roller" or "pressure roller". That's just from the diagram on page 25 of www.brother-usa.com/-/media/brother/product-catalog-media/documents/2020/08/17/04/59/sm_hl_bc2_e_ver10.pdf. Maybe that's somewhere to start?
Hi and thank you for this video it really helped us, no technical assitance in my area. Now I got another situation, I'm getting a Machine error when i introduce the code *2864 88 Machine error 0501 and when i enter the *2864 82 machine error 6902, in the lcd screen I get the message PRINT UNABLE, also SELF-DIAGNOSTIC and the machine will restart itself within 15 minutes.. and that is all, never restar again and no printing at all... Any ideas?? I already try all the troubleshooting brother offers, but nothing.. Really Aprecciate any help!! Thanks...
so, most of us call it a sensor flag, since a small flag passes in and out of the infrared sensor. I have mine. My problem it the paper stops when the paper gets 1/2" past the fuser. I can't find the resolution. It's probably the main circuit board, but I can't be sure since I'm not a repair tech.
You can give it a try with the service manual at: www.brother-usa.com/-/media/brother/product-catalog-media/documents/2020/08/17/04/59/sm_hl_bc2_e_ver10.pdf I don't imagine brother color laser printers are all that different inside. Good luck!
I have the same printer and when my co-worker was trying to print double-sided the paper got stuck on the roller and burnt up. We managed to pull all the paper off but in the process put a tear in the roller (not the red one). Is there a place to order parts for this? or a work around? it keeps jamming because of the roller.
If you mean the black roller that goes against the red one, both are part of the "Fuser Unit". The Fuser Unit is replaceable so you might find the part. It might be expensive comparing to the printer total price thought, but should be doable.
Same for me. Error 7302: "When printing from the paper tray 1, the registration front sensor does not detect paper pass within the specified time after the T1 paper feed sensor detected paper pass." But I factory reset the printer...and this error seems to intend to occur during a print but it's persistent. Grr. Looks like it might be the PCB for me, or the sensor harness, whatever and wherever that is. ;) And I don't have the "RM" sensor showing.
It could be something to do with that sensor, or the bar that the paper pushes to trigger the sensor. When the printer prints and it doesn't detect something coming out the back, it immediately stops and calls it a rear jam. Maybe you can fiddle with it to make sure paper coming triggers the sensor. Good luck with that!
You know what you don't want to see when you are less than 12hrs away from a flight and your printer dies? Taking things apart with a screwdriver. Ahahahah.... thanks for letting me know I'm in trouble, I guess.
Sorry, I'm not sure because it's not listed in the service manual I found. www.brother-usa.com/-/media/brother/product-catalog-media/documents/2020/08/17/04/59/sm_hl_bc2_e_ver10.pdf

That is so awesome! So glad you enjoyed. So have yourself a wonderful day! from Canada
Amazing video. After watching I noticed that I had a wire pushing the blade out of the way. Moved the wire and bingo!! Printer fixed. Thanks!!

You are a genius! I was going to throw away my $1,000 printer and fixed it thanks to you. 🙏🏼
Thank you so much, your video helped a ton, I managed to build a temporary replacement part like yours until I can get my hands on a proper one
Downright impressive engineering ingenuity, Excellent Job !
Thanks!!
Awesome video. Helped me figure out what was missing on a printer and what I needed to order. Fuser cover ASSY
You helped me save so much money and get me out of troubles today! Thanks so much!
Thank you soooo much! I followed this video and fixed my printer. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Thanks for this. I found a plastic rod round behind mine the other day, will go see if I can just refit it.
I do have some bike spokes around too though...
Great video - because you pointed out the photo sensor I was able to clean mine that was blocked with paper dust and my printer now works like new again
Awesome! Fixing a broken thing is like the best feeling ever. Good work!
This video is great! That same piece broke on my printer. Brother doesn't have that part. Would you be willing to share the specifications of the piece you made?
Nice fix - well done
Great video. Got one for free today with this error
Excellent video. Where can I get a service manual for my Brother color laser printer HL-31C or one close to that? Thanks....
Thanks a lot for sharing got the exact same problem on a huge colour printer I found in the garbage. FREEEE ^-_-

The spring is broken on one of the little grey wheels in the back of my printer. Any idea how to fix that?

lovely was fun to watch :D
Beautiful
Please help! Does it work the same way with an MFC L8850cdw?
You can give it a try with the service manual at:

Sorry, I'm not really sure. I imagine it would be a special order item at Staples equal to half the value of the printer. Good luck with that though!
If you mean the black roller that goes against the red one, both are part of the "Fuser Unit". The Fuser Unit is replaceable so you might find the part. It might be expensive comparing to the printer total price thought, but should be doable.
what was the actual problem?
HELP ! i have a paper tray 1 jammed error, no paper in it.

Hi,
I have a HL-3140CW and paper is keep jaming in the rear eject part.
How can I get it fixed?
It could be something to do with that sensor, or the bar that the paper pushes to trigger the sensor. Amazing
Help me please ... monitor said C1--MPMRPORMRA-- Thank you very much how to fix it?
I'm not a printer expert :) But I can try and offer ideas. What exactly is the problem with the printer?
Have same problem.
C1-MPMRPORMRAFW.
Could you tell me what sensor is P1?
Btw amazing video!
Ahaha, just turn off and turn on prineter. Its working! ;D
Can you order this part? My flag broke too and want something more reliable than I can rig up?
Mine shows machine error 0000 please what could be the problem
Sorry, I'm not sure because it's not listed in the service manual I found.

What was actually wrong with the printer, obviously, it never had the little gadget you created to start with?
I think someone probably tried to fix a paper jam at some point, and knocked the piece out and lost it...
