  • In this travel vlog, I'm sharing my experience flying from Sapporo to Perth with Japanese Airlines (JAL) and Cathay Pacific. I had the pleasure of flying with JAL from Sapporo to Osaka and then connecting with Cathay Pacific for the final leg of my journey to Perth. Both airlines were fantastic and made my long-haul flight comfortable and enjoyable. One of the highlights of my trip was the opportunity to upgrade to business class on JAL for a measly US$13/AU$20. The JAL lounge in Sapporo was a tranquil oasis providing a great space to relax before my flight. I also had a chance to experience the Cathay Pacific lounge in Osaka, which was also a different experience to what I'm used to. Overall, I had a fantastic experience flying with JAL and Cathay Pacific and I highly recommend both airlines. Thank you for watching my travel vlog and be sure to check out my other videos for more travel insights!

    Thank you Kym for another well done video. Always enjoy watching you navigate the different airports and the reports on the different planes and seating arrangements. The different foods that are available. And that was a lovely picture of the beach by the Indian Ocean. Looks like your little doggie was happy to have you back home,giving you a lots of licks. Hi Kym. Thanks for sharing. Was great seeing the drive from Niseko back to Sapporo. Sp pretty We were in Niseko when covid hit as the our border was closing. Talk about panic as our flight got cancelled. And had to buy new flights. Never felt such relief to land back in Perth. But we loved Niseko and would love to go back or maybe try Hakuba.
    Cathay was our first taste ever of BC. Brilliant. Oh and we did their PE from HKG to JNB. Was a haul but was better then out usual flight down the back of the bus back in those days. We found it really comfy.
    Just got back from a quick trip OS. From time we walked off the plane and out the front door was 8 mins. Something to be said for travelling light.
    Did you notice Perth airport had no decorations for Chrissy at all. Geeze it's a poor excuse for a international airport in my eyes.

    Kym, if you weren't making content, do you think you would visit lounges as often? Sometimes it seems you walk some distance to the lounge, chill for 30-60 minutes, and then trek on to the gate. Just curious what your genuine sense of enjoyment/preference is with lounges versus the chaos of gate seating.

    If you can upgrade for only $13, this usually means you're already paying a pretty high economy class fare. If you're on the lowest fare possible, the upgrades usually cost a lot more.

    I love all the content you give us Kym! But I find this unethical. You are blocking seats with the intention of cancelling them at the last moment. This is gaming the system and causing losses to airlines or you end up denying other flyers who might want to get on the same flight. In both scenarios whether you cancel or not, either someone in economy doesn't get those seats or someone in business can't book them. I don't think someone in your capacity needs to resort to these tricks. We expect better from you.

    • @mr.forche4373
      @mr.forche4373 Год назад +28

      It’s on the airline to craft rules to stop unwanted or unprofitable behavior. A very classic example of don’t hate the player hate the game.

    • @liamkelly5850
      @liamkelly5850 Год назад +5

      You’re not seriously sympathetic towards the airlines, are you? I traveled recently, applied to be upgraded using points (that were soon to expire), wasn’t successful, yet even just prior to boarding business class seats were available for the low cost of $10,000 Perth to Dubai.
      The airlines don’t care about you or your fellow passengers, they care about profit. So much so that instead of approving a points upgrade and making another economy seat available for someone else to travel, they’d rather have empty seats in business after gambling someone might pay.
