That traffic and all the horn honking would drive me bonkers. 😆
Some people say :"if u can survive driving in India, u can drive anywhere else in the world." Love your video..
Thank you !!
@@TREADtheglobe Please go to China, you are sure to find a new world,
No mention of stopping to eat. Did you not eat that whole drive? Kudos Marianne, you deserve as award. I was nervous for you.
I’ve been driving for nearly 60 years in all types of situations. After watching today’s video, I must say: Marianne, you did outstandingly well the past two episodes. Also, I am now convinced that I would not want to drive in India.
Yeah right just go to the most crowded place and just small state and compare whole of india. 😂😂
You guys are mental driving in India
How to make India look drab and boring.
They are delebrately leaving the good roads and driving on the side roads
Marianne you need a T-shirt that says I survived driving in India!
I was glad I was in a large bus when I was there. You are an excellent driver
Who in there right mind would want to go there.
India is not on my bucket list. It’s on my list that rhymes with “bucket”.
This is a seriously underrated comment
Its Your mind its your choice sir
Exactly my thought.
I kept waiting for them to drive by something remotely clean or new or maintained. It’s just garbage, chaos and decay everywhere. Hard pass.
I've always said, if you see me in India, call Interpol because I've been kidnapped. Lol.
As Carl Jung said "India gave me my first direct experience of an alien, highly differentiated culture. Altogether different elements had ruled my Central African journey; culture had not predominated. As for North Africa, I had the opportunity there to talk with a person capable of putting his culture into words. In India, however, I had the chance to speak with representatives of the Indian mentality, and to compare it" with the European. I
My wife was invited to India by a school that was having an anniversary celebration and she was a guest of honour .. I went with her and we stayed in a 5-star hotel which was very nice but outside the absolute poverty was totally appalling … we had a car and a driver curtsy of the school … even so we were terrified as backseat passengers … the driver would go round roundabouts the wrong way into oncoming traffic … he even reversed up the entry ramp on the motorway because it was blocked ahead,he would also stop the car and get out of have a pee 😮 …on the motorway to Agra to see the Taj Mahal there were people walking along in both directions, bullock carts lumbering along, dogs and sacred cows just wandering around … the place is an absolute shithole … people just shit and piss in the gutters at the side of the road and the sides of the streets are lined with dust, rubble and other rubbish that people have dumped … we won’t be going back any time soon ….
Was it Africa..
It's a great pleasure to see your adventures. I travelled around in India back in the 80s but to my surprise, just found out that there is no improvement at all on the traffic system over the years. Take care and continue your great adventure.
some indian might disagree what you have say and tell you : after all those year's the trees has grows taller
No comparison at all from 80s. Totally changed. In 80s we hardly had any highways. Today India has more than 100k miles of highways and expressways, most of them are built after 1995. Target is to complete another 50k KMs of new expressways by 2037. Watch some youtube videos about Indian highways.
My husband and I watch you every Sunday morning while we eat our breakfast before going to church. He said this morning that he thought we may have nervous breakdowns by the time you get through India. Please be safe.
Marianne, you are the most confident woman ever! In every way! You are so impressive. And you are right, you deserve a metal (a T-shirt at minimum) for your driving skills in India.
Growing up as a kid in the 1960s and 70s my mother always drove with my father in the passenger seat and all the kids in the back. She liked to be in control❤
Sounds like a women after my own heart !! 😉🚐💃
Beta male!
A badge sounds unfair, a trophy maybe? A gold medal? A spa day after every drive? Haha.
India is mad and amazing. As long as you have fun and follow the flow you’ll be alright.

@@mariamaru9972thats just your ignorant brain saying these things. U have been misinformed just look at northeast and south places you will know how wonderful india is.. Dont be stereotypical and generalise india😊. India is like EU many countires together. Everydtate is different
"going to remember forever....or block it out". Love it.
Visited and drove in India in 2011, no paper maps then either and a marked absence of road signs, happy chaos, what a great trip you’re having.
As I hv suggested. Drive very early in the morning. Cooler, no traffic, less stressful.
India is a very large country, with a billion people, different cultures, languages, climates, geographies. You both are so lucky to be able to travel this ancient country.
FU Rahmapin your country is the worst experience i got from 53 others i visited. It is soo deep in the bottom that you need to dig to search it in my comparison ....
@@ivaylotsankov7292 pity you. so which is the second worst country then?
Gotta be China lol
Greetings from Sabah, Malaysia! Keep moving forwards, slow & steady. Happy exploring & take care always 🤩.
Apa khabar orang kampong! 😊
Adalagibah😅

@@rasrazak657 Aramaiti !
Orang gila masuk 😅😂
That driving skill definitely deserves a medal, hats off to you guys.
I've just watched your video when you were returning to your hotel after picking up Trudy. I've been driving hgv trucks for nearly 50 years and wonder if I would manage to do that journey in the manner you displayed. To keep your cool in such a vibrant and chaotic environment was inspiring. I probably said 'wow' half a dozen times., I am in awe Marion. Safe future travels.
Thanks Peter 👍🌷
You def deserve an I conquered the Indian roads badge or t-shirt Marianne 🥇🥇🥇Could see Chris having a few squeaky bum moments 🤣🤣
What a relief to get to the hotel and be able to just destress 🙌🫶
Ha Ha ... you are right with the squeaky bum moments LOL !! 😂🇬🇧🚐🙌
I called India the land of contrasts.
Tremendous driving from marriane. Chris you still can't get comfortable in the passenger seat. You need to relax, marriane has got this. Great video, and what a great experience you're having
Looking forward to the next one 👍
I can't wait to see more of your Indian travels. It definitely seems like a unique and interesting experience.
You're being very calm and brave here.
There seems to be less sense of a multi-ton vehicle bearing down on one with a limited stopping (breaking) distance here!
Absolutely terrifying to watch, but I am grateful for the 2nd hand experience... and to know that you survived to upload!
Thanks !! 😉🌷🌺
What an unbelievable nightmare. Makes me wonder how many people, animals and vehicles are involved in accidents or even killed each year. You guys are driving champs! Thanks for the adventure, it's all I need to see of India.
Brilliant what a driver marianne you definitely deserve a medal 🏅
I've seen "horn please" written in chalk on the rump of an elephant, one word on each side!! Happy Travels
wow..
😂
What a treat watching the two of you driving through my favorite country. So full of life and so refreshing to watch people out and about enjoying themselves or going about their business. Whether on foot, auto, bicycle, horse cart, bus or what have you it’s organized chaos at its best. Brava and bravo to the two of you for staring in the video, crossing of India by road. What a marvelous experience. Anxiously awaiting your next episode. Happy Holi.
The old looking taxis you mentioned were made from 1957 until 2014. Originally Morris, they were sold to India in the 1950s and remained largely unchanged over the years. At one time that's pretty much all you saw on India's roads until more modern cars started to enter the market. I recall seeing a lot of Suzukis back in the mid-90s when I was there. Also 60s and 70s Vauxhalls.
I will never forget the ten days I spent there and watching this really makes me want to go back there and just throw myself in the middle of all that wonderful chaos.
Correct the Morris was known in India as Ambassador. Built like a battle tank. It died a natural death when Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda etc entered the market. But I heard that Ambassador is going to be re launched with a more sporty look
Fifty years ago, Ambassadors were the only cars you saw on the roads.
I love driving and I can tell you, that was top notch driving..Getting through those narrow lanes without incident is amazing..Well done.
You are certainly a good driver to handle that nightmare!! Thanks for another awesome episode guy's cheers.
I am sitting on my couch here in Ireland watching u drive through India, I am a nervous wreck .I am breaking, swerving, shouting etc etc at my TV.. Safe journey..Some Driver Marian.. 🙏
Awwh thank you Mary - we appreciate your love and support
This made me laugh out loud. 😂 just picturing it.
He chose to be a gutter inspector.
Most of India 8s much better than this.
BE CAREFUL when driving through small town or highways cutting through villages because the Tractors carrying harvest or hay suddenly come in front of you from small muddy roads intersecting the highway. Usually avoid driving after 15:00 hrs on highways because of the reason I explained. In big cities you will not face this.
Come and spend summer in Turkey , we missed you......
Turkey looks amazing!!
I know you guys think it's terrifying, but i loved my five years living and working in India (based in Delhi and Bangalore, but travelling to offices all over the country and driving my company car extensively!). It's a fantastic place!
Phew, India is so full of contrasts, well done on your driving skills, we love the country and its people but driving there, no way
Dude 7 th largesst cou try and u judge a small place they drove around? Lol
OMG my toes were curling...brilliant driving, well done Marianne
Since Mumbai is your destination you should see the Ellora caves. They are amazing!! It's a UNESCO site. The Ajanta caves are also impressive. All are in Maharashtra State. Happy Travels
Defo!
The Ellora caves? Amazing
Travelled a lot in India. Lived for a year once. I absolutely love India. Takes a while to get over the shock and just float with India’s crazy mystical life… looks like it shouldn’t function but it does. It’s hilarious and horrific, heaven and hell. A trip to India is so intense it feels like a lifetime.
But… I not once considered driving… I admire your courage!
Enjoy the wonder of India!
Pity you aren’t going farther north to the Himalayas. You’ll probably miss all the amazing places to see…
All the best! Fun videos! I’ve never heard OMG said so many times! 😂👍
It looks like everyone wakes up every morning & immediately heads out to walk, pedal or drive on the road. No one stays home or sits anywhere. Kudos once again. I would never be able to drive there. I thought Peru was crazy, but this is much much more chaotic.
Population, we have 150 billions of people,if half are out in road imagine what will happen😅
Just amazing. I love it!
Fields, small towns, so many people!!
lovely!
I'm anxious for you driving just watching your footage !! 😊 you are doing fantastic job 👍
I can see why inner peace is so valued 😂. Awesome driving skills.
I love the way you keep smiling when facing such big challenges! What an experience! Keep trucking and keep 😂😂!
Always! We make a great team and we couldn't do this expedition without a sense of humour that is for sure 😉🚐🙏
I drove to India and back via Afghanistan and Iran in 1978 in a bright orange VW camper van called Polly. We took a year to do it and loved India! Tehran was even worse to drive in. ...
Wow - sounds epic !! Fantastic
Morning Chris and Marriane im.looking forward to your Indian road trip ive been to India a few times its beautiful and different to anywhere ive ever been your going to love it but traffic is wild enjoy India ❤❤
@21.39 I'm glad you clarified you were out of Kolkata here. Very unclear where you were if you had left the city , I heard another 'town ' or 'village' being mentioned, would be great if the videographer could just mention how far approx you've driven and the town or village you are driving through would add another dimension of clarity and interest! Great videos and the driver deserves a trophy for her driving.
What a great experience! Travelling is worth it when you encounter a totally different culture. It's rare these days necause of internet.
Awesome driving Marianne…really enjoyed the vid. Stay safe and can’t wait for the next post…
Looking at how Marianne had been driving since she start driving in India. No one can denied that she s a better driver than you Chris 😂😂
Chris tells everyone I am the better driver 💃😉
That luxury room looks absolutely lovely
I nearly had a heart attack just watching this. I can't believe you drove there! LOL
This is so interesting to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your trip
I’ve heard Maryann come up with one liners, but her asking to have a baby goat inside Trudy …seriously, Maryann dear, you deserve an Oscar .😂🫶🏻🇬🇧
6 hours must feel like 12 hours on the road. Well done!
9:59 That is Dankuni. And the junction is called Dankuni housing as there are housing complexes at the right side of the highway.
You drove all that way, including all those mad crazy streets and you didn’t stop once for food 🥘 why? I held my breath all the way through this video and breathed a sigh of relief once you got to your destination safe and sound. Also I missed the sight seeing due to the fact, I KEPT MY EYES PEELED ON THE ROAD, and now I’m flipping starving. 😂 Marian, you are a super super driver for sure 👌 love you two. ❤
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. And I'm in peaceful quiet Canada. I couldn't imagine how intense it was for you, noise, smell, heat, traffic all at once. Amazing, good job!
Well done! We were in India for Diwali once and that was mad.
That should be a 2 night stay. 1 night to recuperate from this crazy drive and a 2nd night to rest up for the next day's drive. If this was a book, I'd be skipping to the end to see if you all make it out in one piece. The suspense is intense!
Hats off to you both for driving in India! Good luck and safe travels!
LOL.... Alan from SmallHomeBigGarden here. On my trans Canada trip I met a young couple with a short skoolie and they had A GOAT in a stall in the back of the bus. No joke!!! Hope to see you again on your return. Take care.
Ha Ha Alan that is magnificent !! There is hope for me yet !! LOL - Marianne xx
You will be a hero to your grandkids and great grandkids after they see these videos.
Wow, first time watching your channel. India driving is crazy but I have to say, you deserve a medal, spa day and much more! I was anxious watching but was very impressed with your driving! WELL DONE!

So interesting! Such diverse vehicles & contrasts! Ta so much for filming & sharing! Still on my bucket list, but not driving!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loving this video. Marion is doing an awesome job as always. It reminds me of the mountain roads of Georgia, but worse.
I drive a care in India have done for many yrs, once you get used to it I don’t find it a problem .
Another WOW ❤❤❤❤❤Maryanne driving vlog... and Chris you do great photography.. you two make a great team together...
I hope you are taking the time to stop and have a chai with the people along the way. They are so helpful, friendly and informative on their culture and things to see along the way.
❤thank you Chris and Maryanne superb travelling legends do you think that motorcycle with the goat had her kids on back 😊 and relax
How very lovely to meet You,,, You are amazing. Safe travels and blessings, from me, in Australia.
Thanks for these videos. Reminds me of my trips to India trice.
Well done, Marian, I could not cope with the stress of driving through India. You're a star.
Massive respect for the driver! If I were doing this video, it would be obscenity filled!
Eline emeğine sağlık bu güzel vlog ve video için kolay gelsin hayirli işler bol bereketli kazançların olsun👍👍👍👍
"There are good drivers and there is screwdrivers" got me really good😂😂
Im from Kolkata, the city of Joy. My hubby is Aussie, currently living in Perth. You are an awesome driver, glad you had a great trip. Asansol is much cleaner
Traffic in India is like watching water flow. Just goes where it fits.
Love the music you match to each country you vist, well done, your journey is amazing ❤
Watch hanging arms out Chris, I met several who'd lost limbs that way over there. As you see traffic comes from all sides and doesnt leave a gap 😅
Thanks for the tip
Found your videos recently and we love watching them. So brave to be driving in India! We live in Sri Lanka and although we say the driving in crazy here it’s definitely not as mad as over in India!
I’ve never been so relieved for you to get to your hotel for the night! This is so stressful!
People in India are friendly and kind. Bravo Marianne, star driver! I love India and it's wonderful to share your journey with you.
Ditto... no place like it.
I absolutely love the craziness in India , going back in November can’t wait 🤣😀😃
I just discovered your channel. I am super impressed by how calm you were during the driving. I think I’d have had a massive migraine if I was even a passenger, and could never have lasted all day. Wow. And to see miles and miles of garbage, filth, and homes made out of twigs and sheet metal and then to find that nice hotel there? It’s a miracle.
I never wanted to go to India and nothing you’ve shown has changed my mind.
I would travel with you though, you guys are super chill. Glad you didn’t get covered with dye!
Horns? We call it beeping😂😂😂
Thank you for taking us on ur drive thru india, very interesting challenging drive, we can never experience it ourself
Stressful watching it, never mind driving…..
fair play to you both not easy, safe travels
Kidos on the expert driving. Marianne, you are a great driver and I'm so impressed that you two are okay driving through the crazy streets in India. God speed.
