I am o impressed by the citizens of India who seem to be so kind and handy. Being able to communicate in English seeems common at all levels of society. What an amazing journey.
Marianne you need the driver of the year award I have been driving since my 17th birthday 31/12/1979 and would not like to drive in them conditions best of luck x
Thank you a great episode. I love how in India when you have a problem and someone helps you, there's always an audience. Trudy's horn repair audience had me chuckling and yearning so much to visit India again.
I'm a HGV driver in the UK and I've seen some bad driving over the years, but India OMG that certainately is an art Marion must have nerves of steel, I think my favourite place you visited was definatlety Turkey beautiful place and lovely people.
LOVED this episode - brought back so may memories of our travels in India. You've probably already passed through the Jaipur area by now but if not - one place we explored a few years ago was Bagru village. It's off the tourist trail (or at least it was when we went 11 years ago) and the entire village is devoted to the art of hand block printing with elements practiced in different houses throughout the village from dying of the fabric, carving the wooden blocks for printing and hand printing. It was one of the most interesting experiences of all our years of travel! Maybe you'll be able to visit one day too! xx
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. People in India 🇮🇳 are so proud of their culture and heritage and they may be crazy drivers but they also so friendly and helpful. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s journey around the world. 🌎
Thank you two for always providing an upbeat video. I’m an elderly lady in Texas and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your journey from back in the US. India has been a real hoot or should I say “toot” 😂 Mary Ann you have held your own in that mad traffic. The horn has been the best part. I have laughed and laughed at all the honking and Mary Ann having too much fun honking back! It’s great! 22:40
Honking is just the way of life, letting others know you are there, honk few times to remind them, and repeatedly like a madman to let them know of your urgency.
My grandparents lived in Lucknow and I have very fond memories of staying with them and of the city itself. Lovely food and beautiful Mughal monuments as it was the one time capital of that empire. You are very courageous driving in India, as you say not for the faint hearted! Nothing beats your first view of the Taj Mahal! A very enjoyable video!
Something universal in any country you go to. If the engine hood is up this attracts a whole gaggle of men(usually) staring into the engine…even if they aren’t part of the fix!
Ha Ha - this is so true !! I don't know if you saw our episode in Georgia (Country) when we had a hole in our oil tank - there were a ton of men stood around discussing it and your comment reminded me of that time too !! Kind regards Marianne 🌺
There’s a dementia care home near me which has an old Mini with the engine removed and the hood up. They put it there so that the men have something to congregate around and it works! They all stand around staring into the old car, hands on their hips and chatting! 🥲
It's commendable that you both are enjoying this blistering heat of North India, navigating Indian traffic, and it's lovely to see you enjoying the use of horn. Stay hydrated. Jaiselmer will be very hot. For bless you both.
These accidental guides are common in indian historical sites. In my experience they have an impressive depth of knowledge , certainly worth the small fee as they bring context to the buildings.
India is the most interesting and fascinating place, for me, that you have been. Wow, I cannot imagine all of this. Watching it through your windshield is amazing. I have told many ppl about your birds eye view of what exactly the countries/places are like that you go to. Good job!
When We went to the Taj Mahal, we arrived at 6.30am ,the queues were huge, ,but, their was a different entrance for foreigners, which was not busy, as gates opened, the crowd surged forward but as we had beat the crowd had best view, superb, glad you are now all horned up again
I remember the days when the Taj Mahal was a mere walk through without all the measures now. I could see it from my boarding school dormitory. 65 years ago!!
Loved seeing the parts in Fatehpur Sikri. I was there on a random weekday in Dec 2010 and it was almost deserted and so serene to walk around there. Your video brought back a lot of memories. 🥰 Also, the riksha driver in Agra seemed to be a really nice guy! 😊
Done World wide cruises , all over Europe with a caravan , and land based hotel Holidays always said I would never go to India ., you have opened my eyes to what a wonderful country it is is for travellers , love the History and amazed at the friendliness of the population , certainly a highlight of your trip for me . , now a widower , sincere thanks for all the camera work you do and editing so I can join you on your journey .
India didn’t cook Marianne, just the Horn! I just love your ability to get things fixed despite your locations and “Carry on” in true, Sid James style! Only the British & Aussies will get this - equally shows our age! Thank you both for sharing your journey to places many of us would never endeavour to visit.
Namaste... look how comfortable you are diving in India with your new klaxon ;) I visited Fatehpur Sikri in '89, how cute about the pigeon tomb. Rajasthan is wonderful, Udaipur is the lake Geneva of India. Looking forward to your next video already. More food inserts please...
The Taj Mahal is extraordinary! I have been twice, but at dawn, as less busy and beautiful as the sun rises. So excited to see Rajahstan with you. I loved Fatepur Sikhri and Jaiselmir!
Great memories of backpacking in 1988, one piece of trivia I think I remember about the Taj mahal is the 4 minarets around were built outwards some degrees in case of earthquake they would fall away from the building, you need a pin, patch or hat with Indian diamond driver , formed under pressure on it. 😀👍
Your videos are just fantastic. I never want them to end. Thank you for all the effort and for taking us along on your amazing adventures. Filming and editing is brilliant.
5:19 I'm still trying to adjust to 🔊just meaning 'I'm here ' rather than anger or impatience! I think your choice of horn was very Trudy... perfect for her.
Wow, what an epic trip 12 out of 10 for Mariannes driving. I'm glad you had the horn fixed (Should have gone for the siren lol) such a factual vlog thank you for taking us with you! I'm looking forward to next weeks episode. Take care and stay safe rgds Alan
Thank you both for another fascinating insight into Indian culture. I used to drive emergency vehicles through London traffic with two-tone horns blaring and blue lights but people would still ignore you ,all I can say is Marian is an absolute amazing driver. Please stay safe and I look forward to your next instalment next Sunday. Regards Chris Uk ❤
Got to say I have enjoyed the Indian trip so much what a lot to look at and enjoy,I watch all your blogs but don’t nominally say anything but this trip is absolutely awesome, great driving Marianne you are a superb driver ,great filming Chris thanks for sharing,i know you are in South Africa now so the roads will be better I hope lol 🌹🇬🇧🤔🤬🤬🙌🙏🤚❤️
I only just found this RUclips group, Tread The Globe, this week as I was researching India....and what a surprise! You guys are amazing in the filming, editing and tremendous driving! Such a great adventure that you brought us on...and I hung on tight onto the back seat! haha!
Wonderful, hope you find some good gems. I know there is some places in Meghalaya (waterfalls), and Ellora Caves, and Ajanta Caves. And Kerala house boating, and Munnar. And the Himalaya, minali, and check out the Lakshadweep isles. Also the large statue in gujurat.
Year before last when we rode our bikes through the suburbs of Hanoi the horn was king, easily as intense as India. Here in Thailand they are frowned on, only in absolute emergency. I have fitted a pair of ‘big bike’ horns for our return visit this November!!!! They are seriously loud.

I have loved your journey through India, it has brought back so many wonderful memories. I loved living in India. I do have to say though, you chose the worst month to travel in India! My advice to people thinking about visiting India is AVOID MAY! Monsoon was wonderful, so long as you stayed in one place. Thank you for taking me back to a place I will never be able to return to again.
It's terrific to see you Marianne trying her skills of driving through the real close, crowded, and sometimes messy hecky traffic in the streets......but you know what there is strange saying ....... if you can drive here in india you can drive anywhere in the world.....no pun intended though.....Hope you have a good time here in our country and dont have a close shave and drive safely.........Hey to add some more have not seen you guys having food anywhere in India......Hope you have tasted some good food without having your stomach upset.....Enjoy your World Tour......God bless.....Drive Safe.....Do remember us in your prayers as the same as we do for you.......Cheers.....Vivek
You have visited so many super places and I can’t understand why you didn’t make time to walk around the Taj Mahal. I have also been fortunate to see a lot of the world and the Taj Mahal was an experience right up over most everything else. I wish I had known about the Mosque you drove to afterwards - that I sadly didn’t see.
Least year, my wife and I drove back to England from Istanbul where we are currently working. We were in our Volvo XC90 and entered 13 countries in 3 weeks. Road trips like this are a favourite of ours even when, like you, there are technical difficulties to overcome. For us our AC packed up during one of the hottest summers on record. But a small backstreet garage somewhere in Croatia sorted out the problem and got us back on the road. We will back in Istanbul in August so can't make your party 🥲 I'm afraid. Until then we'll be following your journey with jealous interest.
Wow!!! The Taj Mahal!! 😱😱 What a great spot to view, too, if one isn't going to brave the crowds to go inside. Amazing! How you found yourselves behing the speaker trolley!! 😀😃😄 Walking another 150km in the heat is impressive enough, but to be dancing along the way too! 🥵 *AMAZING* temple/fortress!! 400+ years old and still a functioning place. Absolutely incredible. So glad Trudy has her voice back!! ❤️❤️😎👍xx
Another great vlog thank you & thanks for recommending Kin, we have just been away in our Adria twin for our first adventure abroad in the 🚐 with the 🐕: 4 weeks in France, which was brilliant & great to have Kin to watch on quiet nights 👍🏻
We visited Fatehpur Sikri in 1999 and there couldn't have been more than 20 other people there the day we went. It's a shame you skipped the Taj. Yes, you got a good view, but it's beyond spectacular up close.
There are many things that make your trip amazing - one being taking in world famous sights! What an incredible way to see the Taj Mahal if you don’t have the time to drop in! It looked quite magical from a distance. Keep up with that professional driving Marianne - you’re the best! 🚌🚌
When you said you'd think we're clinically insane, we'll maybe you are, but wow. So glad you're doing this, and I'm so glad we get the ability to come with you 🙏
Can't believe the horn stopped working 😅 And that in India!! We can't wait to get there, but it will be one hell of an adventure that's for sure! Currently we're already in Uzbekistan. Wishing you safe travels 💛
With all those miles on Trudy, does she have a preventive maintenance schedule? She is a champ and ought to be displayed somewhere in the UK where her exploits will be admired!
Looks like Death Race 2000 or Bumper cars at the local fair. Thanks for a comfortable and safe ride through India 🇮🇳 which I prefer at a distance this time .
In North.. world highest motorable road umingla La Pass...go and enjoy on world highest motorable road....so many other place Leh Ladakh..Manali..shimla.. Dharamsala... Khajiar called mini switzerland 🙏
I can’t believe you went all that way, were SO close to one of the 7 wonders of the world but didn’t go inside to see it properly. What was the reason? Maryanne you are doing SO well with the driving. It’s a different world there on the roads hey. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey home. It’s been a great 4 year adventure watching you drive around the world.
It is interesting but for us the journey is really the adventure .... maybe one day it will be high on our priorities but getting Trudy and ourselves safely across India was more important at that time for us 😉🚐🌺
You should have got the funky horn, it would have been a great souvenir. I hope you are going to visit the Taj Mahal when you drive back down, it is an amazing monument. I hope we will visit India in our van one day, I did it as a backpacker 30 years ago
Great live view of the Taj Mahal (Taj Palace).... thanks for sharing it, really appreciate it... Take care on your journey. My wife and I follow your weekly episodes and even think of traveling with Borneo Island as a start since we are locals here.
Marianne you are an amazing driver! In India! How can you do it? It is crazy, chaotic, no order, no restrictions! No traffic controller! Well that is what is being seen. You observed the Taj Mahal from a prudent distance, I would probably had done the same, I mean looking the amount of people making a line to get in, that is awful. But then you went yo the other religious building that was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing these experiences to the world. Please continue. Good luck! 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
India is fascinating World. I left Australian life to live in india to be part of the excitement
Thanks 🙏 ,come to Kolkata. And then go to Mandarmani and Darjeeling hills.
Dirtiest country in the world
I am o impressed by the citizens of India who seem to be so kind and handy. Being able to communicate in English seeems common at all levels of society. What an amazing journey.
It is true, people are mostly willing to help!
“We drove from the UK to the Taj Mahal” Simply incredible. Congrats you two 🧡🎉🇮🇳
Marianne you need the driver of the year award I have been driving since my 17th birthday 31/12/1979 and would not like to drive in them conditions best of luck x
Fantastic place India ,driving there is certainly an eye opener. Marianne you're a true hero 😊
Thank you a great episode. I love how in India when you have a problem and someone helps you, there's always an audience. Trudy's horn repair audience had me chuckling and yearning so much to visit India again.
Wow, you are a wonderful calm driver Marianne! Traffic looks horrendous. Temple looked magnificent.

@@SumitBisht0 sometimes we honk to say "Hello" to you.
Marianne is now qualified to play in an orchestra…in the horn section
LOL !!

32:31 an amazing place. Love the architecture. And the guide was excellent
It was one of 'those' moments for sure
The Taj Mahal is extraordinary! I have been twice, but at dawn, as less busy and beautiful as the sun rises. So excited to see Rajahstan with you. I loved Fatepur Sikhri and Jaiselmir!
My previous colleagues from India came to work in Sabah Malaysia... they were dumbfounded by our lack of use of the horns here.
Here, horning is considered rude. Even though its a friendly reminder horn. Sometime we don't know where the button are, right?

Wow, thank you!
I wish you were going to Chandigarh- so you see people can drive without horns and with rules. Some Delhi areas are also almost horn-free
5:19 I'm still trying to adjust to 🔊just meaning 'I'm here ' rather than anger or impatience! I think your choice of horn was very Trudy... perfect for her.
You're right! It took us a wee while to reprogram our ears to that too
Hello Ambassadors
This was a great video. Interesting locations.. Taj Mahal and the huge mosque at the end. Thank you folks..
Love you all🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷💞💞
In India the horn is more important than the brakes! 😂

I love the way the don't give a "toot" even when Marianne gives them a "toot toot" 🤣🤣🤣 Fantastic driving as usual Marianne 👍
Loved watching this. A great soundtrack too. Ty 😊

Road trips like this are a favourite of ours even when, like you, there are technical difficulties to overcome. For us our AC packed up during one of the hottest summers on record. Just amazed at how friendly the people are there, makes me smile
You both did a great job!. it was really fun watching this vlog about Agra and Fatehpur Sikri Palace.
Very nice music selection 👍
Now I know how important Horn is, which we all took for granted. I can't remember when was the last time I pressed the horn in my car.
Marriane is my driving hero. I've driven some crazy rodes, but holy cow, India is another planet.
*AMAZING* temple/fortress!! 400+ years old and still a functioning place. Absolutely incredible.
So glad Trudy has her voice back!! ❤️❤️😎👍xx

Thanks Lucy ... it is great to have her tooting again !! LOL 🙏🌺
Such good going in a scary driving scene....so much to see..bring on to-morrow.

Yep we have regular oil changes and check ups and have met some of the best mechanics around the world !! 🚐🌺🙏
Wow another amazing video thankyou!!
What a view just awesome thanks for sharing this with us many blessings from North Texas ❤

24:27 I can see why he chose to build up there! What a view to wake up to.
Great live view of the Taj Mahal (Taj Palace).... thanks for sharing it, really appreciate it... Take care on your journey. My wife and I follow your weekly episodes and even think of traveling with Borneo Island as a start since we are locals here.
That is wonderful - thank you and we hope to see you in Borneo one day 😉🙏
@@TREADtheglobe sure, you are most welcomed.
Good luck! 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
would not like to be a driving instructor in India. some amazing scenery and buildings. great vid. keep safe and well 😄
