I've been living in Thailand for 12 years now and this so reminds me of our first trips up north. Only difference is that I never booked a place to stay, there's always some place to sleep and with maybe two exceptions over the years, that always worked. Always clean, friendly, relaxed.

We've lived in Thailand since Oct 2012. We owned a large home for eight years in a suburb of Bangkok. We built a new home just over five years ago, 38 km NE of Chaing Rai. Except for the burning season (high PM 2.5), I love the area and the people! I'm so happy to see more and more tourists visiting the North.

Nice video again thanks. I've been to the White temple 3 times before, the last time was almost a year ago. Love the atmosphere there and the beauty. The little tin things hanging above the walkways are are tributes to those who have passed before us. You pay a nominal fee and write the names of your loved ones on it with supplied pens. They are hung in a few suppled tree structures initially the transferred to the walkways when the trees are full. I wrote the names of my late Mother and sister who both would have loved it. Top tip: Get there by at least 9am to beat the bus tours then you will have a lot more freedom :)

One reason the white temple is so amazing is that it’s not consecrated as a temple, it’s actually one giant art installation proclaiming the architects love of Buddha. It’s his desire that it will be consecrated one day and he continues to add to it. It’s one of the most astonishing I’ve ever seen and can’t wait to see what’s been added when I go back.

Wow, I keep cave isopods, Cubaris, and Merulanella species that are found in caves in South East Asia. Most notably, Vietnam. But that cave reminds me of the environment they would live in. Looking forward to Phuket, KL and the India.❤

I mistakenly never went back to Chiang Mai etc as had been there in 80s .. it just looked too developed for me as did Phuket area when I last went was deserted!!..plus had a leg injury at the time.. never mind anotger time. As u know things can be unpredictable. I came there from India after a hectic time so after Bangkok went to Hua Hin to pure relax..maybe as a couple it was easier to connect withthe Thai people..for me was not same obviously as before. Allin all found India took my heart with people..just an opinion of course maybe will return to Thailand another time. Love your Turkey travels as wrnt there off and on since 97 and still love it spent a year after caught serious covid in Uk and just ran away ith zero to come back to here...

the cave brought tears to my eyes, i had visited the caves a year or so before the boys got trapped and followed the rescue closely from the UK, so glad they now have a statue of the hero who gave his life to save them😢😢😢
the White Temple is a sight to behold and somewhere i will never forget, what you would not know (i have never seen it mentioned anywhere) is they close the Temple at noon to give the public a chance of photos with no people spoiling the view
not sure of the rules with Trudy but could you not do a visa run across a land border to get a 30 day visitors visa in Thailand while you wait for your Indian visa? i'm guessing you have sorted it by now though
    take care and stay safe

Hello friends Without a doubt, 21:36 the great white temple is spectacular, although since you are in the area, you have to go up to Chiang Rai and visit the Blue temple, it is not that big, but it is beautiful! and the large pearly white Buddha inside is worth seeing. said that..,
I just discovered your channel by chance watching a video of Paddy that appeared in recommended videos. I just arrived in Spain from my two-month trip to Thailand. Where I live (Ibiza) I have a camper van and on this last trip, the truth is that I thought all the time that it would be fantastic to have my camper with me. But to be honest, in two months I barely saw 2 or 3 camper modules mounted on pickups (not even a camper van), and I wonder if you have had problems when spending the night in the van, when parking in public places to spend the night and all that. I would greatly appreciate any information on the subject. Because next year, although I don't think I can afford to rent a camer van (much less take my old Mercedes MB100 there), I might be encouraged to take a kind of motorcycle and camping trip. Greetings and continue with your fantastic adventure! .. I'm subscribing right now .. right now I'm very envious of you friends!

Yes he evidently committed suicide, very very sad, he had so much in front of him. After all he had gone through, maybe the pressure to succeed was just too much.
