1955 - 1962 GT Cars - Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

- The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion presented by Michelin attracts some of the rarest cars and gives some 550 owners the chance to compete in their vintage race cars against cars from the same era and class. It’s the only place in the world where you can expect to see a $40 millon 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO square-off against a 1960 Chevrolet Corvette.
While the largest chunk of cars participating will be sports cars and prototypes from the 1960s and 1970s, there is tremendous variety. Get there early enough, and you can see cars from Pre-1940 battle it out on Laguna Seca’s famed corkscrew turn, sporting wooden wheels that flex and groan over bumps and through corners.

Regardless of the monetary value, these are racecars, they were built to be raced, and it's great to see them racing here.
Agreed somewhat but they are old, generally unsafe and are worth upwards of $40million. Even if you offered twice as much, most GTO owners would refuse to sell them. These cars have reasons to be garage and vault queens.
I'm sure plenty of people are cringing at the sight of this video haha
What a parade of art in motion.
amen..you can say that again...
Pha Q well said.
Love the "112" 250 GTO...got to see it up close and personal. Absolutely stunning piece of history.
Things like this and good wood revival are all why racing is good, you can see some of the oldest and rarest racing relics at the very best on the track in full out racing mode
That's a lot of money on the track, holy shit.
I'm sure Enzo, if he were still with us, would be absolutely floored to see his cars doing what they were built to do.
1961 Porsche Abarth Carrera. Very rare. 2.5 mil for that machine. Finished P6. Nice
Number 10 Ferrari is a 250 Lusso not a SWB.
i love gt
GREAT COVERAGE MOTOR TREND!!BRAVO!!
I've not seen a lot of races with old cars like these, but I want to see more. Anybody got any pointers where I could start getting into this sort of thing? Any known races where cars similar to these are used?
Ole Kaarvaag checkout goodwood revival
Around 3:15 the info box says "FERRARU"! Nevertheless, this is really great!
Please, anyone but Ralph Shaheen next year.
Love the cars though!
Cecil hills? That's the suburb right next to me!
It said Ferraru instead of Ferrari at 3:12
I want a Ferraru, I bet it is much cheaper than a Ferrari. lol
hah ah hahah
I was just waiting for a crash
... only in Forza Motorsports 4 and Horizon 2 for me... why I will never be too old for video games, until I win the lottery
Which is that car in the thumbnail?
