- In the modern era, Goodwood has seen some incredible racing. With the 81st Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport starting this weekend, we've been scouring the archive for some of the best battles. The 2018 Moss Trophy was one that lives long in the memory for many. The whole race was filled with great battles, but the Ferrari Breadvan vs the Jaguar E-type was one for the ages. The overtake is still talked about on a regular basis in the Goodwood offices to this day.
Where does this this rank if your favourite Goodwood races?

One of the best overtakes I've ever seen. Straight out of a Hollywood big budget film -- except it was real. Incredible driving.
I wondered if id know which one you meant.. but i knew it when i saw it. Drifting someone elses E-Type around the outside of a priceless Ferrari is not something you see everyday
Some say that turn signal blinks to this very day. These clips are marvelous, racing at its best.
On a dark night, when the fog is just right, some say you can hear the delicate little 'tick-tick' of the blinker.
Watching these e-types, what a machine, king of this formula, not just a pretty face.
Straight-up fun racing. Loved seeing the Ferrari and that slide-job chap was very entertaining.
Goodwood and the Isle of Mann are on my bucket list.
Magnificent. The viewing from home, is excellent. Kudos to the team for for the production, which is way better than any other classic racing, that I've seen. Goodwood, consistentlyon top, the benchmark.
Let's hope this weekend's event goes well! Will you be tuning in?
@@GoodwoodRR of course, I've been waiting for weeks for this.
Thanks for showing the entire race and what a race it was!
This is so enjoyable. Much better than F1!
Not such a high bar to compare it to, is it? Dicing? Tick. Sideways action? Tick. Beautiful cars? Tick. Nothing like F1, really…
Absolutely awesome! Thoroughly engrossing 👍👏👌
Simply incredible racing here!
Very enjoyable racing, as always at the Members Meeting.
You would have to have some nads to race a £15m 250 GT Lusso! Glad it made it unscathed!
33:55 Rob Huff spectacular pass!!
Great race stuff. The problem with this high class historic racing is that you can tune up a Jag quite easy and the Ferraris are - more or less - at the status they were back in the days (since no one would make tuning parts for them, just original pistons etc.). So today an E-Type is at least as powerful than a Ferrari - as you can see. Furthermore it is much cheaper to restore a Jaguar than a one-off Ferrari like the Breadvan. Amazing that this Ferrari is driven so hard. Imagine the cost of a Ferrari fender compared to an E-Type hood. Or the engine...
Even more so with AC Cobras. Which makes all the attempts of any Ferraris nowadays more admirable, as not only were the cars giving away in terms of engine capacity, they also more or less stayed closer to period tune than the Jaguars and ACs...
Flat-out amazing racing. And, every metaphor for "smokin' E-Types" is is truly experienced here.
The commentators language must have been terrible 😂😂
"Something coming off of the BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP"
I was wondering what kind of things could possibly be being said
Fantastic race 👍
Bellissime gare con auto straordinarie... certo vedere che una E spider tiene il passo di una Ferrari 250 la dice lunga su come una storica può essere implementata nelle performances 😉
Commentators got a little too excited past the half way point lol
Modern F1 is like some dreary circus procession farce compared to this, I just watch the highlights now and even that is unwatchable most of the time, total boredom. THIS is real racing in real cars. Loved it.
Who was cussing up at storm around the 29:23 mark. Lmao.
That swearing must've been some of the dirtiest ever to have been heard at Goodwood... but we'll never know.
I love the Breadvan! Not sure if it has been repaired yet.
Back again! Was at the last Revival in September 2023, in full of its glory!
The same race, Levant Cup, in which a 250 GTO caught fire....
It already had. It was raced at Le Mans Classic last year, and Goodwood Revival, and at Paul Ricard.
They need to fix that massive hole in the rear end. It ruins the looks 😂
Is that snow on the infield?
You have to love how they thrash these older cars around that’s why I like European Vintage racing as opposed to here in the states with that silly 13-13 rule where if you touch someone your on notice and if you do it again your out for 13 months!
What? 😲 I despair. Only rich idiots who want to tour around showing off their investment to their other rich friends would think that up. It explains why we never seem to have Americans over in these races.
Oldies cars ,i like it's
VROOM RACING, Sud Gironde France ............
Jaaaaaaaaag! ❤
No 16 Ferrari appears to slow down when he tries to change up!
16:27 - All the leaders, coming up to big-time traffic, HOW WILL THEY GET THROUGH IT?? Better cut to the pit lane.
Way better than F1.
29:19 No spray coming out of the (censored)
Carving his (redacted) at 31:38 is also amazing
FUNNY! 😂😂😂 It doesn't matter what car you're driving or what year it is. If there's smoke coming out from under the hood it's ALWAYS a bad sign! 😂😂😂 Silly commentator!
As per usual, the commentators makes more noice than the cars. Why don’t they shut up.
They're probably the same at home.
