Yes Sir! If they don't open, you have to toss'em. It's not worth getting sick. Depending on where people live the clams could be as much as a week old. Here they are typically three days old and the fish monger tells me to use them within a day or two at the most. It sucks when you buy a couple of pounds of clams and you get 5 or 6 that do not open.
