    Your Kraken videos are the best. Ive watched everything on RUclips about this boat and your videos have the strajght from the Capt perspective. That other Capt that caught up talking about you walking by like no other as well as your obvious amazement of the Krakens capabilities is testament! I nominate you the Kraken Ambassador Capt

    The boat is unique, impressive, pioneering, fast...and brave. I knew of the Kraken through my friend and co-owner of the company Rob Lockyer. Then I met the other half of the company, Mike Howe, at a powerboat race over here in the England a few days ago. Love the NY shots, great video.

      In all my experiences of offshore boats, more than two dozen poker runs in every type of powerboat possible as well as working for Al Copeland in the 1980s-1990s... there is no other boat more capable in adverse seas, yet completely docile in calm water too!

    Not sure why you'd get fuel in Liberty Landing instead of Manasquan an hour earlier..

    Lots of footage of you driving and giving tours but very little info about fuel consumption. You show the nav screen but rarely show the engine screen. The one time you rattled off a few numbers without any words n the screens didn't reflect those numbers. Confused

    • @DavidWilks
      @DavidWilks  3 месяца назад +3

      The fuel numbers from the engines is mirrored onto the main screens just as it is fed via CanBus to the Garmin BlackBox. The fuel economy of the Super Kraken is stellar compared to any vessel of its size. While cruising I could tailor the ride depending upon conditions to observe MPGs ranging from 0.3 at WOT to 0.6 at an economical 35mph cruise with a slight headwind. The best MPGs are realized when in chop to 1-1.5’ seas and slight headwind. With a stepped hull, she likes to break from the water and increased aerodynamic lift helps more to overcome the drag caused by smooth water. Another issue with the observed video is most of this trip we encountered a 3/4 stern wind of 20-35mph with gusts to 40+ and westerly seas, reflecting cruise numbers based on primarily hydraulic lift over aerodynamic.
      In my experience, the fuel burn numbers are still better than the Boston Whale trip I did from Jersey to the Bahamas, then Florida with four Verado 350s or running our 52’ Sunseeker at its 26mph best cruise netting less than 0.4mpg. In comparison to others again, the difference in fuel burn at nearly twice the speed is negligible when you also realize I’m arriving much earlier and not burning the fuel that a comparable Vessel would be that still has time to arrival.
      Does this help explain?
