Of most the rc RUclipsrs to watch out there, tomley is one of the most realistic channels for your average rc guy because we can actually try an get most the ones you feature an understand everything you talk about and it’s not like your one of the guys that’s super specific on bashing, racing or even the scale stuff. If air has to travel farther over the top then the bottom it will create a low pressure area on top. This is known as LIFT. That's how airplanes fly. You do want to control the air under the car to cause suction that will hold the chassis to the ground. The splitter in the rear tries to create enough low pressure behind the car to create suction under the car. Hope this helps keep your car on the runway.
Fast moving air under the car (low pressure) slower on top (high pressure) = downforce . Lots of variables, but that’s the basics I was explaining in the video
@TomleyRC very true though if you go again n mod the body at all try make or buy no clue if u can buy but id assume u can, an adjustable rear spoiler for fine adjustment to increase downforce at the rear. As for the front that big dent in the grill id use a heat to change the shape push it out to remove the drag as its acting as a brake admittedly only marginally but still its drag n drag slows u down obviously abit of electrical tape would cover it. You could also make adjustments to the front splitter to pull the nose down more, as well as add some fins to the front wings to create more downforce. Tape off the rear arches or cut a hole where the rear reg plate would sit to allow any air getting in to escape out the rear. Though if ur craft type u can cut out 3 edges the top n 2 sides of the rear reg plate bend it out so its like a flap any air that escapes at high speed would inherently push the rear down, i suppose if u kept the grill as it was and drilled a few holes in it like a real grill n then a hole in the bonnet hood scoop but vent in the direction of the windscreen so on a real car heat would escape rather than enter on that style scoop (reverse the scoop direction) im certain you'll understand you'll create further air flow and downforce. You dont need to work against oncoming airflow when you can modify the body to make it an aid to getting a higher top speed. I hope this didnt confuse u m8 im autistic my brain works in an odd way i see your rc car n see all the electrical and suspension components are great but id work on the body shell n use it n mod it to ur advantage if i was you. Trust me tweek that shell n it will help u gain a fair few mph's

I know this will sound a little odd , but !!! At 53yo I'm back into the hobby of RC (I had a tamiya Hornet in the mid 80s) and I know other RC you-tubers do it, but I like many would really appreciate a little bit more technical information (because I'm a bit duff ) and know very little, and reading about things sometimes doesn't sink in , I find you easy to listen to, and your unpretentious, those two things are hard to find on here. Also I appreciate it all takes time to do , but feel free to make your vids longer 😁 , thank you for all your content, and know you are appreciated 👍
It's not odd Mike.... lots of people get back in to the hobby at your age, and mine (44). It is hard to make 'how to' videos without them ending up being long winded and for boring for 80% of the viewers, which can then effect channel growth.
But I do have a plan to release some more technical videos and stuff, but not on here. Just need the time to sort it out.

Also if the front shocks are causing problems what I do is either put old fuel tubing on the shocks and that’ll make it more rigid but still keeping the dampness

I know that platform in Germany the Reely 1/8 cars are based on it. The only problem is the spider gears are made out of very cheap metal and after a short time they wear down. (Reely Generation X and Raptor)
Well this has been driven hard with every pack I’ve put through it… and then as you saw.. multiple 100mph passes, lots of tyre shredding… and no issues to report yet. So I’d not say it was a weak spot
I think it would be easier (and significantly cheaper) to get to 100 in the new rlarlo ak917
917 roller - $200
Quicrun 10bl120 - $45
3.5t eco power drag motor - $32
Contact foam tires - $20
Biggest 3S battery you can fit and some gearing tuning.
I've run this same combo in a wltoys 124019 and got 106mph
It would take longer to get the Rlaarlo to 100mph than this. It takes about 6 months to work out how to get one to go straight 😅. But yeah… cheaper for sure (video soon for that)

Yes, I wanted to get the most from it. Although the best thing for me was that it ran the fastest speed pretty much with stock settings other than motor & ESC

Project for you: build a wind tunnel and check the aero on your cars. I can't believe no one at ROSSA are doing that.

I've done a few modifications once I hit 110 it would roll over. May I suggest wheel balancing sticky weights. Worked like a charm to keep it flat. Without touching anything else was able to grab another 8mph totaling 118mph

Congrats on the speed run PB. I only run foams over 130 mph anything below I run proline Toyo Proxes R988R S3 Rears and the fronts on my infraction. They have been good to me up to 138mph before they showed any sign of stretching. The grip is insane on black asphalt. They are discontinued but they just came out with the V2s. They look the same other than the spoked wheels. I can't see them being worse. I hope not, why would they discontinue a good set for something bad? lol. One important thing. They are belted tires so you never want to spool them up without them being on the ground. If your car goes airborne and you don't let off the throttle holding it wide open too long especially if you have a spool out the Belt in the tire will break rendering it useless. Kevin Talbot does it all the time with his tires on the bench with his belted offroad tires and wonders why they explode when doing offroad speed runs, HE had already destroyed the belts before the RC is on the ground. 😂 Krazy Kevin, lol.

Congrats on going faster with an RC car than my Dodge Chargers best speed. I was thinking, could adding wheel wells to the front wheels with a hole at the top keep the air from getting between the body and chassis? The top vent could let the air escape and push down a bit on the front end.

Hi,
I am not sure to understand why you have removed the plastic part under the chassis. Indeed, this plastic part has a kind of bump (as on the side parts) that helps to promote a Venturi effect. I apologize for my poor English and if my words are not correct but I would have kept this plastic part on to help maintaining the car « stuck » to the ground.

$800 USD from what I can see....it IS 1/7 though......
FTX + the HW Sensored Combo is £687 if you buy it from Modelsport. The Infraction is £719. Faster and smoother than the Infraction for less money. Although the Infraction is epic as well 😎👌

Love the looks etc but here in New Hampshire the roads are so bad you couldn't drive 10 feet without jitting a hole or broken road. Shoot my typhon has gotten flipped etc hitting damaged roadway.

Put 1 M diff fluid in the front, 3 M different fluid in the rear and 500k fluid in the center and add an independent gyro.
New to the hobby and looking to purchase a car for racing, I believe the track is carpet or astroturf at the local club... but before I join them I want to show up with a car that won't show me up. What would you recommend as a beginner budget 1/10 scale car that has potential with upgrades?

I want to get into this hobby of RC cars and for the beginning I am looking for something like jack of all trades. My main playground would be grass/gravel. I have a big garden so plenty of space to race about. Plus there is a gravel track at the park. I have been looking for something and at first was wondering about nitro powered one but maybe electric will be good enough. Some cons/pros would be great. Any suggestions? I would like something bigger like 1/10 scale maybe. Maybe some kind of buggy type. I do like off-road more. Any recommendations or suggestions would be gladly appreciated.
The hobbywing 4278 2250kv is less than the stock motor 2000kv. Why use that. And not just change esc . Please explain

you said yours comes with 22 pinion , mine is a 12t fitted and a spare 14t but I only maxed at 52mph on 12T so are you saying that I can add a 20/22 pinion .

5:28 sorry, I think that's the opposite...you want low pressure underneath which is less air. The less air under a vehicle the better. If you could remove all air (aka make a vacuum) that'd be even better. The Goodwood speed run record is held by an ev that sucks the air out from under it.
You were in aerodynamics weren't you? Planes get lift by high speed air under the wing and slow air above.
Yes, I've studied a little bit on Aerodynamics
Low Pressure = Faster Moving Air
High Pressure = Slower Moving
The Air moving over the wing of an Aircraft is faster than what is going under....creating lift.

Out the Box the Felony is better. But with a few mods, this is up there for sure
