I saw this show on Broadway in June and almost fell out of my seat. Sean, Kristin and Katie were seriously spectacular. I wish I could go back and see it again! :D
Awesome musical ... great performances, love the Burt Bachrach/Hal David classics, and was lucky enough to see this in November 2010 with Sean, Kristin and Molly Shannon--who stole the show. What a great walk down memory lane. The '60s had such style.
this musical was SO good, I went to see Kristin because I Just LOVE her but, it was one of the best show's i've seen on broadway. and student rush is only $30!! but get there as soon as the box office opens!
@armofpilot I found Sean''s voice to be quite pleasing. And remember that sometimes an actor is told to sing in a "character voice" or to tone it down for some reason or another. If you're not sure what I'm refering to watch Guys and Dolls. Also, Sean is a VERY accomplished pianist on top of being an actor.
I love Kristin and she was amazing and I missed her every second she wasn't on screen. Sean was really funny. And I'll leave it there because if you can't say anything nice...
When will it come to Sydney Australia. Lucy Durack Should play Kristin's part like she did for Wicked. Unless Kristin comes to Sydney.... how cool would that be!!!!!!
Even though it's a wig, I thought that was Cheno's actual hair having it cut. I know she did cut her hair before APPLE TREE. We still love her short or long hair!!
they're amazing actors and now seeing them together is even more amazing! Ramin Setoodeh's Newsweek article was totally off base! they've got incredible chemistry! This scene is the living proof of it... Sean appeals to me as a woman in it as much as any straight man. Isn't being able to provoke emotions on your audience the consequence of being a good performer? Being gay just makes him greater!
@MsMusicalmayhem I know people were picking on his sexuality. I read the Newsweek article. I'm just saying you jumping to that conclusion when I said absolutely nothing to imply anything of the sort is not the way to deal with that criticism and just makes the situation worse.
@MsMusicalmayhem No need to be overly sensitive. I don't care at *all* about his sexual orientation. I care that he is not a good singer. He is quite funny in the humorous parts but too put that weak a singer up against Kristin Chenoweth just emphasizes the weakness of it. It's a musical. You need someone who is a terrific singer, not someone who can just get by. @iamhelga - I agree 100% about Katie Finneran's scene. Only time I stopped waiting for Kristin to show up.
I still can't see Chenoweth in this role. Having such a strong voice behind a character that is written to be so timid bothers me. Seeing the show on stage was nice. Was a bit of a letdown, but it won't please everyone, I suppose. The revival was a nice effort, but lacked the power and emotion that the original had. Channeling the 60s is one thing, but actually succeeding to do it on stage is another.
@sk8trjess His piano playing is irrelevant to whether I think he can sing. I'm glad you enjoyed his singing voice but I found it incredibly weak. That said, I think that the songs are pretty across the board weak on their own so he would have to be as good as Kristin or Katie to over come the mediocre (at best) material imho. If the director told him to sing in that voice, that doesn't make it better, it just makes the director wrong as far as I'm concerned. but I don't think that's what it was

Saw this back in March....I really enjoyed it. Sean Hayes' singing is very pleasing to hear. Of course, Kristin Chenoweth is amazing as well.
Love, love, love Sean Hayes. He's so talented and was just great in Promises, Promises
I just love Sean Hayes! Kristin Chenoweth was amazing! It's a good combo. This show is hilarious!
Sean is Wonderful.
He has a Great Voice.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the two of them!!!!!!
Sean was absolutely side-splitting, and Krsiten was her usual self, being amazing as always. Loved it!

SEAN HAYES IS WONDERFUL!

Saw it on the "VIEW" Love them both!!!
I saw this and it was PERFECT!!
Dying to see this play!
I love it! Thank you for posting!
They both seem like brother and sister.
Love Sean!! He'll always be JUST JACK!! to me ;)
I love Sean Hayes's voice... to guy who said he sounds like a Muppet: ummm, that would be called singing tenor. And he is doing a great job.
I like Kristin but she is too old for this part.
I love Kristin and she was amazing and I missed her every second she wasn't on screen. Sean was really funny. And I'll leave it there because if you can't say anything nice...
She's so pretty in that kicky hair-do, such a chilled out song as well... I just love this. Is the cast album out yet?
Saw it, loved it.
I want to see it!
When will it come to Sydney Australia. Lucy Durack Should play Kristin's part like she did for Wicked.
Unless Kristin comes to Sydney.... how cool would that be!!!!!!
I.Want.To.Watch.It! *-*
WHYYYY I don't live in the US??
Genuinely never expected Sean Hayes to be a good singer... I'm glad I was wrong :)
Even though it's a wig, I thought that was Cheno's actual hair having it cut. I know she did cut her hair before APPLE TREE. We still love her short or long hair!!
@48 her Im HERE to remind you....SWOON***

Is this still running?
This is as close as you can get to paradise; I mean, Neil Simon+Bacharach and David + Billy WIlder + Broadway musical?
haha ;) "So, for at least, UNTIL TOMORROW... I´ll never fall in love again" :D
thumbs up if you're going to see her in the Stephen Schwartz concert next year!!!
jack!!
@taylor4929 good for you

wow I didn't know he can sing.
Sean Hayes is not as good a singer as I thought he'd be... but they have chemistry so that's good.

Grow up people
I love both of them so much. However, I still hate this song. Blech.
she is annoying and miscast, Hayes is good
That's because he is a queen not playing straight very well...she is miscast..
