Brutalmoose alone generates 40% of sales for the stock footage industry.
Ian's getting his money's worth from that Adobe Stock subscription
What if he was in graphic design before and bought them all already?

my favorite part is definitely 15:16 where a random stone tile pattern just appears for a split second while Ian talks about how cozy the bacon is
I like the part at 20:00, where a map of Hungary is displayed on the microwave
@BaraBrandurHenriksen that's one part of what makes me love him so much, you can never look away because you never know when he's gonna throw a sight gag in the corner for half a second

Ian’s inability to follow basic directions and incredible impatience really makes this channel. I love it.

also i love how literally everything, even just plain coffee seems to upset his stomach yet he seems to choose things for review that would upset _anyone's_ stomach, let alone one as fragile as his
It *is* hilarious. And occasionally frustrating. It's obviously not done for laughs, either. You can genuinely tell that Ian likely never had to do even the most basic tasks for himself, for most of his life, until he was an adult. Like... How does someone his age not know that you need to leave butter out a room temperature for a bit to make it spreadable?
the coffee instructions seem really badly written and nearly impossible to follow.
The hole at the top of the simple preading knife is so you can use a pair of them as earrings

I was thinking he should guest star on Good Mythical Morning. That would truly be wild. However, I am not the fan that will make it happen.
Looks like something you would watch on MTV in the early 2000s

That's a bit of a stretch.
I’d watch this at 1:30 AM.
My mom bought me a Moo Mixer when I was still in elementary school for getting good grades. I'm so glad that the Moo Mixer got a pretty good rating compared to the others. That thing was like a month of my childhood :)

Ian: "I'm not gonna look at the instructions, I watched the video!" *Proceeds to cut off the tip of the banana with a dull spoon*
Ian: I'm a paranoid person
Also Ian: doesn't wash any of the gadgets
Yeah, there was probably some kind of weird residue on the bacon one that caused the bad smell after being heated. I also cringed at how he dropped the extremely undercooked bacon on his plate and then appeared to still be using the same plate after the bacon was slightly more cooked. Plus, it looked like he didn't wash his hands after touching it, so he probably got raw bacon residue all over that microwave and his camera... 😬
@@DuckInGameStop bacon is almost always already cooked so its fine. Odd, but technically fine

My favorite thing is when Ian says something with a certain cadence that makes us think he's going to say more, but then the sentence just.. stops. Not only is that something I do literally all the time, but it's always somehow funny.
The coffee steeper is great if you hate coffee but love refined petrochemicals in you water.
Holy cow, the moo mixer one looks really handy, to be honest. I could see using it for mixing peanut butter powder and protein powders for a non-blender shake. If you get into alcohol, you could even make a little cocktail in there.
I hadn't thought about it for my protein drinks! I might just have to get something like that, no more lumps for me!
Theres no way that thing is powerful enough to mix peanut butter

I want a sequel! This video was fantastic... Definitely didn't feel like 40 minutes. I love how much freedom hello fresh gives you on the ad reads. I watch your hello fresh ads every time, even though I've already seen so many other hello fresh ads! It feels almost like a segment on the show... Like at the end of mst3k they read a letter from a fan and frank hits the button. At the end of a brutalmoose video the ad read ties the whole thing together.

I think Moo Mixer is the best out of the group. It's not limited to just chocolate milk powder. I can see somebody using other drink powders in it, and it'll work just as good.
Yeah! Honestly, I kind of want to buy it just for other powdered drinks. I have this cappuccino powder that tastes really good; but no matter how hot it is, I can't get it stirred completely.

I had a mug that legit looked like it was only used to hold pond scum. There's literally no good way to keep that shit stirred up. If you use a spoon you'll have like 10-12 grams get stuck clinging to the spoon.
@@Gallant_Silver Pardon me if this is too obvious, but put a splash of hot water in your mug prior to adding the powder, then add the rest of the water. It keeps the the powder from setting up in the corner of the bottom of the mug like the Spartans at the hot gates.
The corn de-cobber would've been amazing for my grandma! Every summer we prep and freeze gallons and gallons of fresh sweet corn for the winter months and this looks SO MUCH FASTER than cutting it off by hand.
Even if it has some flaws, definitely a good idea that could be better with more thoughtful design.

You can just leave butter out on the counter for spreading. It's perfectly safe at room temperature just give it a cover to keep bugs out.
I don't feel comfortable leaving out something that's dairy for too long
I second this. Butter cover, you're good for a looooong time. I've never seen butter get bad by the time I use the whole stick usually.
It depends on where you live, i live in Brazil and in 4 days out of the fridge the butter gets moldy and goes bad.

Really not feasible in even slightly warm countries
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Ian has the best editing of any youtuber. Every video, especially the cooking ones, I can't put on as just background noise because the comedy edits require me to pay attention because the gags are all so good.
sidenote: This is self indulgent but I would pay money for a brutalmoose / brian david gilbert crossover. I'm not sure if it would work, the senses of humor have a lot of overlap but also a lot of opposites, but god would it be glorious.
Agreed.
I tottaly agree, I come here for inspiration often
Also like, I see an ad read too many times and then the other vid .... I watched hilarious ad all the way thru at the end
Oh, those two together would be so fun! I totally agree with you on all points, including the editing. Really sets Ian apart from everyone else.

fun-ish fact: frozen butter is great when making biscuits or pastry, because you want the butter to still be solid when it begins baking. that makes whatever you're baking super light and fluffy
it also keeps the butter from going rancid for far, far longer. and that knife looked 10x easier to spread than a normal butter knife, better for if you want to say butter /bread/, or a more delicate bread
It also keeps longer if you don't use it much
its a necessity for puff pastries. you wrap a big sheet of rolled out and frozen/chilled butter in dough, and fold it a bunch of times to get nice, flakey, separated layers when it cooks.
@candyman Well in regards to most any thing that might be considered a "Gadget" there are probably 10 other ways to do what the gadget does for free and without the gadget.
Other note in regards to butter in general alot of baked stuff requires cold or frozen butter. Freezing the butter just makes it last longer .. and not long ago most every household had a butter dish that you put the stick of butter on the base it had a lid that would cover the butter ..and generally that was just left to sit on the counter or table at room temperature to use untill gone. So everyone always had soft spreadable butter
Thanks for the tip
If you're cooking anything in silicone molds, make sure to wash it in hot soapy water first, otherwise it'll have that weird silicone smell/taste.
I bought a silicone baking mat and it literally recommended you boil it before you use it the first time
not an expert in the manufacturing side but i believe the smell is actually from the mold release agent, as platinum-cure silicone is considered food safe because it does not release any harmful chemicals in the curing process (or afterward). you should wash any factory-fresh kitchen item, but after a thorough clean the silicone should be safe and stink-free. /unless/ the silicone is not very pure, in which case the smell could well be a sign that its food-safety is in question...and unfortunately sometimes that is the case. if it continues to smell after a thorough soapy/boiling clean, it may be poor quality silicone (or tin-cure, or even not silicone at all!) that is not completely food-safe.
Who the shit wouldn't wash a product before using it? As a germaphobe, I have to wash everything that can be washed. If it can't be washed, I spray the shit out of it with alcohol or disinfectant spray. 😂
i love how ian seems to go in to a natural stasis when waiting for things
Honestly the corn one is genius. If you buy a lot of fresh corn, from a local farmers market or something, and make a lot of things with corn in them like stews, soups, or whatever else you might put corn into that wouldnt be on a cob, that is a solid product that makes life just a little bit easier and faster
Maybe if you're disabled, otherwise using knife is way faster and easier.
@@lordmuhehe4605 it is no where near faster or easier, and if you actually think that youre the disabled one. Its one quick motion and with even just a little practice it will easily cut the time spent in thirds, maybe even fourths: its literally like having a knife that can cut all sides of the corn at once, so instead of making several cuts you make one, literally just the same thing but multiple times more efficient

I have the cat butt magnets and while I love them, I recommend putting them somewhere low traffic, like the side of the fridge. It's easy to bump them, and their magnets are medium strength at best, so they can easily get knocked down and the tails snap off. If they do break, can fix them almost seamlessly with a tiny dot of superglue.

I honestly thank you for your effort, your mostly clean content (brutal foods gets messy), your witty demeanor and soothing and overpronouncing ways and your iron gut. You deserve your subscribers tenfold or greater. I wish you the best.
I’m not going to lie: I’m totally sold on that banana one, and I kind of rolled my eyes at it when Ian introduced it at first. Plus, you could slice the banana into coin pieces to put on a sandwich or just eat and they’d have a little bit of the filling in each one, which is great. The Moo Mixer was also impressive, but they should market it for powdered drinks period, because I guarantee it’d work for some energy drinks, stuff like Koolaid mix, and tea powders. They’re missing out on a whole market, especially when their product actually works.
well, first off, you could just put bananas on the sandwich then put the filling on the sandwich as well, second off, I'm pretty sure this video introduced it to the market way better than it being called "moo mixer" introduced it into the chocolate milk market

Ironically the microwave coffee thing is probably better designed for Folgers, your coffee is probably too fine of a grind and that is why so much ended up in the cup.

The most interesting (and reused) gadget I've got in my kitchen is a bagel guillotine. Nothing too crazy but does what it advertises!
One thing I'm curious about is how the cleanup of these gadgets went. That Moo Mixer and Banana Stuffer both seem like they'd be a pain to clean due to the little nooks and crannies.
The holes in the butter knife would be such a messy pain if hand washing. i guess a dishwasher would probably do fine?
The only thing that makes the Moo Mixer seem like a difficult thing to clean is because it's not dishwasher safe. It would be really easy to just put a little bit of soap and water in it then use the button to make it spin. It practically scrubs itself! Rise and dry, all and you're all good!
The bandana thing? Yeah, no. The tiny tubs would make clean up horrendous.
@@rockinrootbeer1795 the mixer has electronic parts, though, and it still needs to be washed everywhere else, not just to get out whatever you were drinking. I typically wash the entire cup, including the handle and pay special attention to the lip area since you know... that's the dirtiest part.
tbh a lot of these things are obviously gimmicks and not practical in the long run, like you could just use a spoon that's much easier to clean but I guess that's not as fun lol

The Moo-Mixer reminds me of the little electronic mixers that were given away with Cola-Cao, the spanish version of Nesquik. Those grounds in the coffee were because the grind size from your grinder was irregular and too fine, allowing them to escape the screen in the goofy filter thing. I think you used a blade grinder, which tend to do that.
For a metal screen, you'd need a coarser grind, and a consistent one.

That one was dumb as hell, microwaved water isn't even hot enough to make you tea. You'd have to microwave it for at least an hour for it to be anywhere near boiling water temperature.
@@Nekoszowa this is actually extremely incorrect. water put in the microwave (for whatever reason) will heat beyond the point of boiling, and much quicker than you realize. The vapor alone can burn and the water itself can sort of explode when you take it out.

All that mess putting coffee grounds into a microwave...it makes you appreciate the simple genius of an electric kettle and instant coffee.
Also, the banana gadget is deeply upsetting.
I could only see cheap motels using those things, to avoid spending money on coffee pots for every room, but like they'd only have 1 microwave, & it would be in the main office.
Instant coffee is pretty bad though, if you’ve already got a kettle then you’re better off using a french press or aeropress

8:45 This is a fun segment for the video, but it's generally unsafe to plug appliances that use a lot of electricity, like a microwave, into basic extension cables. They often aren't designed for the amount of power used, and can catch fire, unless you get one of the proper type.
i didn’t notice that until u said that but why did he do that 🥲
Extension cords and surge protectors in general will do that. The proper type you’re thinking of is called a UPC

@@bobmcguffin5706 the word safe being the issue there. Nothing would be the answer. Maybe a phone charger, I don’t trust them. They burn houses down. UPC or a regular plug only.
about the Simple Preader: the heat from the toast kind of makes the whole purpose of spreading cold butter pointless, i think its more for spreading butter on still soft bread that won't start to soften the butter as you spread. however, you can just. put a stick of butter in a dish, in your cupboard, and never bother with any of that, so who knows

@@DimT670 because a lb of ground beef alone is almost 7 dollars. Add literally anything to that and you end up spending 10 or more dollars to make a meal for yourself and some people don't have stocked spice shelves and pantries it can get even higher. But let's say you freeze 4 extra portions. You have to have containers to freeze food in which not everyone has. Then you last electricity to freeze those foods, then electricity to reheat those foods. Gas to drive to and from the grocery store, which for people like me that live 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store adds up. Where as with hello fresh I paid like 12 dollars a meal for two people and usually we had one left over meal. So 3 divided by 12 is 4 $. I'm impressed by the small whirlpool that the moo cup created. I also might enjoy stuffing a banana with various fillings. I'm not too sold on the corn thing, or the butter knife. However the cat butt magnets are a must.
Your videos are far and away my favorite on the internet. So comforting and your editing is unreal.
To be fair to the microwave coffee maker, your grind might have been too fine for it, hence why it was leaking into the cup. However, it was likely to be garbage anyway since it is exactly like you said, a tea steeper but for coffee, and for coffee, that's really going to have sit and steep for a VERY long time before it flavours that much water.
We just watched an entire 40 minute video made for the explicit purpose of enabling him to buy the cat butts guilt free and use them as a tax write-off.

The banana stuffer seems like a good option for people with small children or for anyone who is prone to making a mess with a banana + peanut butter just smeared on it. The corn device would also be good for having kids help make dinner or for anyone who struggles to hold a knife safely.
It is always important to realize that a lot of "useless" gadgets are often made to help people with disabilities. I love the music, the stock footage intertwined into your green screen. It's just ALL awesome and fun to watch. Keep it up my man, P.S. I really enjoy the random VHS tapes and arcade segments you do as well.
I got to say my guy, your humor is 40 percent why I watch you, but honestly it is 60 percent your edits! You are funny and your edits just make things that much more funny! Keep it up
Back in the early 2000's, Pampered Chef sold basically the same thing as that coffee maker thing, except marketed it for loose-leaf tea.
A steeping ball on the end of a spoon seems like a pretty obvious thing...
For the bacon thing given how long it took to get the bacon done, I would have just used a pan on the stove. They make a similar amount of dishes, probably cost the same energy wise, and like previously mentioned take a similar amount of time.
Also that way you're actually cooking the bacon in the fat instead of letting it drip down uselessly. Pretty sure that's why it turned out the way it did.
That georgeforman gril does a easier job at cooking evenly compared to pan anyway. Prefer the grill myself. That microwave junk is no good, unless its "precooked" bacon which microwave heats it up normally; precooked bacon is prety good, usually buy at walmart.
@@johnr797 some people dont or cant eat all that extra saturated fat.... but yeah fat of some kind makes it WAY easier to cook things crispy.
@@UglyNTRBastard the fat is already IN the bacon, so if you can't eat it probably don't eat bacon
@@johnr797 no shit it's in bacon lmao
What i'm saying is the fat renders out during cooking, so if you cook it on a George foreman grill for example or on paper towels: you'll have less of it actually in the bacon.
I love your videos, they feel so homey and comforting 🤍 Thanks for doing what you do 😊
9 months later and I am willing to bet that can of Nesquik is still in his kitchen.
Good to see some special tools on BF! With the decline of infomercials, who knows what exotic gadgets are out there!
I miss hearing Billy mays :(((*
I respect that they let Ian be creative around the basic ad info. He said b*tch during the sponsored part and that tells me he's a bad boy. Honestly, this is the closest I've ever come to signing up for Hello Fresh.
Honestly I was considering it just because 16 free meals sounds like a lot of free food and I was impressed
@@DuckInGameStop the amount of free meals you get depends on the subscription size you use the code on. Got some HF junk mail yesterday and read the * fine print
I love that hello fresh let him have fun with the sponsor plug.
Brutal foods are a fantastic treat, so I've been saving this for a time when I could give it my full attention.
Your editing prowess is absolutely amazing as always, great work!
Love and Peace folks, have a great day 🤘
The best part when making your RUclips channel beloved for its editing style and comedy is that you can essentially do anything with it. Ian has to be one of the most versatile internet personalities ever, top in 5 quality easily
Very based Mr.House
24:50 I can’t remember who I watched test the corn gadget but they literally broke it in like 5 seconds. 😂 so I can appreciate Ian thoroughly reading instructions.
I think that was the guy on epicurious that does the kitchen gadget reviews? I dunno, I’ve watched wayyy too many kitchen gadget videos.
I've seen Barry Lewis try it. But i don't think he broke it.
@@AnthroFox99 I was thinking Barry Lewis too lol I watch so many gadget videos I can’t even remember.
@@AnthroFox99 maybe It was Sofiya Nygard.. lol idk distant memory
The only one of those I know is Barry. I'm suprised by how common this corn cob stripper is among youtubers.
I forget how absolutely comical your comedy is, love the sound effects lmao
I love this so much
Please make this a series ❤️
Surprisingly enough this isn't the first time I've seen the BananaLoca, and this one actually got used as intended!
I HAVE seen it used creatively before... to fill both a banana and a corndog with baked beans... (seemed like a lot of work to load in the beans but according to 1 source, tasty)
Not where I thought that was going but still enjoyed it. Like the time I went to Big Dick's Massages. Mr Dick had very strong but gentle hands.
Love to see you ian, the bacon maker probably smelled because you normally have to wash silicone cooking products before you use them.
In general he should have washed every single thing :( it’s dangerous to eat or drink things that have been in contact with objects straight from the box/factory 😭 everything should be washed accurately
@@iwannatalkalot3415 I agree
That coffee maker could be for places like assisted living facilities, or maybe RV type situations.
Pour over is easier, better tasting, more accessible, more commonly available, and produces a better more reliable result (without a bunch of grounds in the coffee)
Why would you want to condemn the vulnerable elderly to the most disgusting coffee imaginable?
@Maddie B. when it comes to a Assisted living facility if it takes and you are on medicaid you will most likely have a roommate and share a counter and microwave so a less bulky option like that plastic thing for a coffee maker over a big automated one might be preferable. Basically it is good for a place where space is tight or to properly clean a real coffee maker may be more difficult.
We definitely can see how fun it was for you to make this video !
I just freakin love your brutalfoods videos (more than the others even tho they are really good too), they have that natural, casual atmosphere, it's almost like we are in the room with you, keep up your awesome work !
Omg. I was like "this tells me don't freeze butter" and you confirmed. I feel like a good student... I got the lesson before you even said. 😆
But really, don't freeze butter unless you got some bulk deal. Always have a box in the fridge, always have a stick in a lidded dish out of the fridge.
Crazy how small yet tremendous an annoyance cold butter is.
Frozen butter is used in baking pastries.
also used for biscuits
I have some frozen, some on the counter and some in the fridge right now lol
A stick *outside* of the fridge!?
@@Nikkibuh Woah, I had no idea frozen butter was actually used in anything. I thought it was pointless of Ian to say that until now.
It’s insane how 1-to-1 the moo mixers mixer blade sounds to a cow mooing. 10/10
Regarding microwave safety, I think the most important thing is to leave the door closed a few seconds after cooking to absorb the last waves bouncing around.
The other issue with the butter spreader is that since your scrape lengthwise it kind of ruins the entire stick, so you can't really use the measurements that come on a lot of brand's wrappers anymore.
Always love the long running “plop” joke.
We definitely need more product/ gadget reviews by Ian! Amazing video.
You know youre watching a professional, when he cuts the end off a banana with a spoon.
Man. I’ve been watching your videos for atleast 5 years now and I loove that they are a mixture of cooking review and a RUclips Poop. Really unique and awesome. Please keep up the good work! Every new video (no matter what topic) is a little highlight of the day for me
Greetings from Germany by the way :)
Oh man this sums his videos up perfectly.
RUclips Poop - Damn I'm old
