thecosmicradiation America is a lot bigger than you think, my family learned that the hard way. Good thing mother drove coaches back then and happily did day-long trips just spending all day on a road. We spent one day driving from LOs Angeles to Las Vegas, got there at 1am. Mind you she drives from the bottom part of UK all the at up to Scotland in a day too so that kind of gives you an idea how big that distance from La to LV is, and how it compares to the rest of the country.
I actually just moved from Northwest Florida to West Virginia a month ago, and took a bus here. The original trip was 29 hours but after missing a bus due to my other bus being late, it took 57 hours.
@@Blowjay69420 Yeah... bus rides don't count. That's not even a day's drive (two days, if you want to stop for the night). Don't get me wrong, it's still a long distance, but bus travel times are not the same as just driving. Texas is huge. My fiancée is from the McAllen area. From where we currently are, it's nearly a 7 hour drive (with only one stop).
What’s your channel review? Oh just video games? Just fast food? My man Moose out here reviewing food, video games, blank VHS tapes, hotels, driving, and then some!
As someone who is too poor to travel, I really appreciated seeing all of this scenery from Texas flatlands to midwest mountain ranges. It was all really beautiful and I'm very thankful that you recorded it. It made me feel like I was riding alongside you on your way to Washington.
I'd love to see more road trips someday if you go on one again. it doesn't feel like a boring travel vlog, it's really unique and fun and it feels like we're just hanging out in the car laughing at funny or interesting things we're seeing.

The whole aesthetic of your channel has been my absolute favorite for years now. To now have a video from you that specifically caters to my roadtrip and hotel room aesthetic is more than I could ask for. Always amazing work from you Ian. A wonderful video to chill with after a stressful weekend of work.
Yep. And even just within one state you can get all sorts of different scenery and landscapes. I’ve lived in Colorado for 18 years, and I still haven’t seen everything there is to see here
This is still legit one of my favorite brutalmoose videos. I have watched it so many times, and seeing as I am currently watching it during plague times, it is like going on a cross country roadtrip in under 30 minute
As a washingtonian, there is no way in fucking hell that I would ever move to Texas. Most people born and raised in the pacific northwest probably wouldn't want to move there, either
What a great update, thank you for showing the roadtrip, I've never been to America, but I've heard that it was big, and man it is no joke how vast it is.
I'm from SoCal and it always amazes me whenever I see videos of the plains, and just how FLAT they are. I'm used to constant hills, mountains, valleys, never really having a flat horizon. And it really does mess with my brain. ALSO DID THAT GAS STATION SAY $2.30??? I'M PAYING $4.39 FOR REGULAR?? BrutalMoose is an enigma to me. How can one have such talent for video production but at the same time give absolutely zero fucks? How can one give so few fucks but actually create such a cohesive and engaging production? I'll never know.
ian has a lot of anxiety, he talks about it a ton on his streams tbh also socal is land of ripping off tbhhhh petrol is always expensive in heavily populated areas, in rural areas it's p cheap. (texas also has all the oil refineries so that helps but even southeast east coast has cheap petrol)
I dunno man, the newer hotels I've been in are starting to get rid of bathroom fans. I think they get around it by installing an air shaft in the ceiling so the steam can escape.

I just wonder about the costs involved. I also live in the UK and I'm trying to save for a house and while I probably could get one now, I want to build up a bigger deposit so I don't pay as much interest over the years. I live in a town that ranks in the top ten list of most-deprived towns in the UK. It's a depressing thought.
@@1Thunderfire I moved recently it's about $150 per day to rent a moving truck or $500 per day to hire movers. It sounds like they hired movers and they're probably doing something like a pod moving system (basically a portable storage unit that can be delivered or stored in a warehouse). The cost of gas would be around $300 and hotels + food would be another $300, I'd guess it would cost about $2000 to move across the country.

I'm here watching this for the 2nd time, and it really hit me that you mentioned Quanah, Texas. The city of Quanah is named after the last Chief of the Comanches, Quanah Parker. thecosmicradiation America is a lot bigger than you think, my family learned that the hard way.
Texas is ridiculously huge. It can take up to 18 hours just to get from one side to the other lol.
Yeah, Texas is slightly bigger than all of France.
www.sparefoot.com/moving/moving-to-dallas-tx/how-big-is-texas/
I actually just moved from Northwest Florida to West Virginia a month ago, and took a bus here. The original trip was 29 hours but after missing a bus due to my other bus being late, it took 57 hours.
@@Blowjay69420 Yeah... bus rides don't count. That's not even a day's drive (two days, if you want to stop for the night). Don't get me wrong, it's still a long distance, but bus travel times are not the same as just driving.

The whole aesthetic of your channel has been my absolute favorite for years now. I agree! It also felt almost absurd how much time it takes to get from one side of USA to another. =D
hitodama Yeah the US is crazy huge. You can drive for hours and still be in the same state.
Yep. And even just within one state you can get all sorts of different scenery and landscapes. I’ve lived in Colorado for 18 years, and I still haven’t seen everything there is to see here
Same here.

This is still legit one of my favorite brutalmoose videos. I have watched it so many times, and seeing as I am currently watching it during plague times, it is like going on a cross country roadtrip in under 30 minute
It's weird how Californians, Washingtonians, & Texans are always moving between these 3 states in such large numbers.
Escaping Californian hell, plus TX & WA don't have state income taxes
As a washingtonian, there is no way in fucking hell that I would ever move to Texas. Most people born and raised in the pacific northwest probably wouldn't want to move there, either
we all share one population, it was agreed upon in all our states' constitutions
@I’m dead serious Did you fail to read the comment to which I responded? Just try again
Texas and Oklahoma are this way. People move back and forth between Texas and Oklahoma like they are playing musical chairs.
As someone from Colorado, I find it absolutely hilarious that you completely skipped Colorado. I appreciated that lol
Lmaoo unless you count the Rockies and the Incline there's not much to see here!!
I love Colorado, I've been visiting it and California every 6 months
Jazzmine McMullins wasn’t much to see the way he went either. I would say the Rockys alone would of been a upgrade.

Gotta say, the editing here is just superb. My favorite shots are 19:23-19:37, they're so damn seamless.
I'll never know.
ian has a lot of anxiety, he talks about it a ton on his streams tbh
also socal is land of ripping off tbhhhh petrol is always expensive in heavily populated areas, in rural areas it's p cheap. (texas also has all the oil refineries so that helps but even southeast east coast has cheap petrol)
ian, fun fact: it's code for all bathrooms to have a fan. how that hotel room got by without one is stunning.
Maybe it was one of the ones where the fan is on a different switch instead of on the switch that turns on the light?
I dunno man, the newer hotels I've been in are starting to get rid of bathroom fans. I think they get around it by installing an air shaft in the ceiling so the steam can escape.
@@maricampari3970 that shouldn't be good enough. you need to be able to pull the air from an otherwise closed off room for both hygiene and safety reasons. a simple airshaft does not move enough air to satisfy those concerns.
@@thomasjenkins7506 I agree with you. Maybe I should start reporting offending hotels to code enforcement lol. I happen to like the extra feature of a bathroom fan

This video simply furthered my desire for a road trip simulator game
One of my favorite things to do in far cry 5 was just drive for long distances. A road trip game would be really nice.
There's a edutainment game about that that I have had the hardest time finding! It was sponsored by AAA maybe? You had to budget and see various landmarks with a partner you chose, and one of them was a dog who always got steak if you went to the fancy restuarant

I'm from the UK so this is just mind-boggling to me. Also, different from what I'm used to and thus interesting.
USA is pretty big and has quite a variety of landscapes
I've lived in Texas my entire life, getting out of the state by driving is torture.
