- During the Brian Deegan podcast we starting to dive in to the future of Dangerboy. Out of respect to KTM during contract negotiations Brian asked us to remove this segment of the podcast. But now that the Deegan's have released Dangerboys move to Star Yamaha, it's safe to put this one out... I enjoy the heck out of Brian's openness to talk about touchy topics like their KTM deal.

The bit where he asks me ‘what would you do?’ Was removed from the full show… most of the clip is the same. This just gives the whole thing a lot more context.

I understand why it had to cut out but even without the context it was clear there was 99.9% chance they were going star. Appreciate the update. Not many people are this transparent with their content. You and ping are doing amazing work for the sport without compromising integrity.

Smart move
The Star Team is absolutely stacked with talent and there's much wisdom to be gained just being near Tomac, Ferrandis, and Martin to name a few.

This was a smart move. Yamaha always make amazing lights bikes. But the team is also really good.
Same for KTM
not really, a Yamaha yz250F weighs 234 lb, compared to ktm's sxf 250 217,8 Ib, I mean without a doubt ktm, have the best bikes, but you have to take the whole package, when you sign a contract, and at Star Yamaha Haiden has got a really good team around then, and they have proven they can win on the blue bikes 💪

The move to Star Yamaha is an upshift in the Deegan machine, it's always moving forward!! Pinned 24-7... props to them, can't wait to see what's next. Cool thing is we can see it all unfold on the social, more riders with vlogs/social media=more growth and exposure to the sport. Everyone wins!

I was not a fan of Brian years ago at the peak of his popularity with metal militia but damn is he a good dude. Great Dad, businessman and just an all around fun/happy guy.
Ya I was always a patrauna guy but he's a down to earth good guy and a great dad.
That's a high-class move for both you guys and Brian/The Deegans as a whole removing this until the news was out. I had my own thoughts about this and my thoughts were basically word-for-word what Brian said around the 1:26 mark. I really like his attitude. I bet for sure hundreds, if not thousands of families now own KTM dirtbikes because little Johnny wanted to BE Haiden Deegan. Some people who just don't get it might see it as a betrayal to KTM, and had you guys released this back when the original podcast aired, that woulda been kinda shitty. I really like Brian's attitude, cuz it's that age-old thing where, even after you've moved on from somewhere you don't shit on the organization that gave you a chance. Whether that's KTM or the local grocery, when you move on it's not cool to shit on them even if you didn't like it, which it seems the Deegans had a great relationship with KTM.

@@nomansland97 I don’t think they do I think it’s just a big-wheel 85 that’s been modded. The supermini class is so weird anyway since the average weekend warrior type family can’t buy a super mini right off the showroom. Every other class you can race a bike off the showroom floor, except not that, and it’s in the mini class so it’s for adolescents. Not even big-time enthusiast adults. Idk, just weird.
Yea love this guy 100%. Honest guy with a great family that he raised to be just good ass people.

The only people hating on this move are the ones that lack the vision Deegan has. Dude is so damn smart when it comes to this sport.
Knowing what we know now, you can tell by his reactions to bringing up Yamaha and keeping monster that he knew where they were going. At no other point did he freeze just for a second other than those topics
Everyone with half a brain knew he was not going to ditch Monster Energy.
Exciting times. I was looking forward to hearing from Gypsy Tales on this.

Since it got confirmed the other day, all I have thought about is gypsy tales. I been thinking that you got Brian thinking that maybe ktm isn't the place for 250.
I love watching all your interviews, I don't know how you get the info out of your guest but every podcast you manage to get the real part of your guest out. Brian is one of my favourites I actually listen a few times to dissect what he says.

Bro I am 32 and love this kid and his dad. I am a Yamaha boy and this is a solid move in the right direction. Ktm is a solid bike for a guy my age trying to ride trails. Yamaha goes fast and always has. Much respect. I had Ronnie Mac sign my pistol this weekend in the my grass drags. I have a ton of respect for that guy as well as you Brian. Much love. Love the opportunity you give your kid. He is a monster and will do it. Keep it white and blue and you will win

Brian strikes me as a very level headed and straight forward thinker. Not the type of guy who will let personal feelings and relationships get in the way of accomplishing his goals. Just watched haiden take 4th in the main at houston. Keep up the good work.

@1:40 I agree. I've never been fortunate enough to have a nice/newer dirt bike. I had a 92 yz125 for a couple months in 2012, & then sold it to get a 00' yz426f & had the bike for maybe 3 months before it got stolen... A few months ago in August I just picked up a 94 cr250r, but in the interest of wanting to get a new bike, I just watched your(Mr.Deegan) video you just posted of Haiden seeing his factory bike for the first time, & DAMN that bike looks good! My point is!... Yes, he has an influence on what bikes we want to get. I've never been a KTM fan, I'm a true4 guy(Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki), but I will definitely consider Yamaha(over Honda), if I was ever lucky enough to be able to get a newer bike. That bike looks f*cking sick. 🤙🤙

Having KTM, Husqvarna as well as GasGas coming in and having great success is good for the whole m/c industry in which the added competition makes all the Japanese manf. work their R+D depts. even harder. Congrats on Haiden joining the blue crew at Star Racing. Can't wait for January.
Star yamaha was the right move. They have most the same sponsors and star yamaha is run with an open mind. He will be riding with cooper, martin, tomac, ferrandis, and on and on. He will learn soo much when he gets chances to ride with them.

The last people to successfully come through KTMs 250 program were Roczen and Musquin and that was a while ago, think of the success of Yams 250 program in the last 5 years.

The has so many Great accomplishments under his belt . I tell you what I think being a father is his best accomplishment. He is a top g dad for sure.
1000% KTM sold 1000s of dirtbikes because of this channel. It would have been awsome for him to race pro on a KTM but it's also what is in his best interest and MONSTER is obviously a huge backing that has made it easier for the entire family to push towards all of their dreams.

That 450 Mx Championship that was taken by Ferrandis Redeemed Star Racing even Tomac making the switch. So many 250 Titles they earned not also that but the Deegans sponsors correlated and worked well.

The YZ250F has been the standard for years. My dad got back into motorcycles with a 426F, has since had 2 250Fs.
Haidan has done more for KTM than most pro riders, do not feel bad whatsoever…🤣🤣🤣
I would not go that far. Their pro-line-up is off the wall impressive. US, Europe, Offroad, Hard Enduro, you name it and they are always in the championship hunt.

KTM has exploded in the last 10 years because of its massive push in professional racing. Consequently, the bike has drastically improved as well. Do you think any of the vet riders spending big bucks on bikes every year care what a kid is riding? No doubt the Deegans sold some bikes for KTM but claiming they have done more than the pro riders is just plain incorrect.
@@kx454 of course I have proof, ktm sends me all the info ever quarter…. No but seriously, you must not have kids that ride at race tracks and have friends that ride. That would tell you how much pull these people have and it’s marketing 101, get the kids! That’s why there is laws against advertising to kids… never said anything about vets, yes KTM has exploded in the last 10-15 years and it is because of them not the Deegans (duh) and I said they have done more in terms of sale than MOST pro riders, never said ALL…

He was always going to Star Yamaha no question about it. Brian had been a part of Hansens Energy (now Monster Energy) from day dot. The yzf250 best 250 4t on the market isnt close they lack so much power.

There's only two bikes ive ever regretted selling. A 2011 ktm 350 sx-f that I got for $1500, the bike was perfect, pro circuit suspension and titanium pipe, all the goodies, the dude just didn't know what he had. And a 2020 yz450f that was legitimately the fastest stock bike I've ever riden. The suspension was the easiest to setup. The phone app for custom maps was dope. Crazy powerful, handled like it weighed nothing. I became a better rider on that bike. Kept it 2 years and sold it for $1000 less than I got it for so I couldn't turn it down. We lost all our local tracks so I found a $750 2007 rmz250 with pro action suspension, yoshi pipe, hinson clutch, just needed a carb clean and chain and sprockets to have a play bike. But hey can't beat star Yamaha. That 2022 Kawasaki kx450sr is looking awful sweet tho.
