I done with the Deegan's now. I was a HUGE FAN, watching everything. The Deegan's were a great story of what America is supposed to be about. The land of opportunity, from rags to riches, done with hard work. It's understandable that the Deegan's were upset that Haiden's bike was claimed, but it's the rules, and rules matter. Brian Deegan could have put this to rest. He could have struct a deal to buy it back, right away. Brian Deegan should have stood up for Brennen because he did nothing wrong but follow the rules, instead of letting this kid get harassed by the Deegan fans. Take the high noble road bruh. It would have paid the Deegan's off ten fold, racers and fans alike. Haiden didn't need the factory engine anyway. Why are you riding a factory bike at a race that has this rule in place anyway... Now there will always be the story of how the Deegan's and Yamaha bullied a kid for following the rules because they made a stupid decision.
@@coolio3498 If you can tell me that Haiden's bike wasn't claimed by Brennan, then OK, I stand corrected. If not, well I guess there is nothing more to say other than sour grapes...
Bud it honestly was not Brian who would have been the one who was worried. Star is the one that would have been pressing and not wanting the bike to get into others hands and for good reason. I’m sure That bike has never been in the deegan a hands other than Haiden on the track. Star most likely brought the bike to the race themselves. If that was just a bike Brian built for Haiden I’d be willing to bet he would have not dealt with the drama and been pumped to sell it for so much. Star has the best bikes in the game right now and not for any other reason than hard work. Also, the price on the claiming rule is terrible. I would be willing to bet if you walked down the start line and talked to every rider who had a new bike they would tell you that they had way more than the cost of the bike into aftermarket parts. With this rule you could go to LL and pick out the rider with the richest dad and buy yourself a bad ass bike with 1 race on it for a lot less than it would cost to build it. For example, wheels are 2500,exhaust is 1200 on some bikes,a motor build could be anywhere from 1000-10,000 depending and the rich kids at those races dad’s will drop 10k on a motor without blinking. Triple clamps are 1000, graphics are 200, most a lot of the kids on the start line have kit suspension and that’s as much as a new bike alone. If some kid had forgone buying a bike for LL and saved his money he could have bought a 30k bike from a few non factory riders I am certain of it. I wonder how mad people would be at a father that throws away money on this race every year when he doesn’t let some random kid in the class buy his sons bike for a low price. The people who think that there aren’t at least 10 kids and a few that are total nobodies that have >30k bikes in that class are out of touch with reality this isn’t 2001 anymore. You don’t race this race out of a pickup truck with a tent anymore! There are semis pulling in and unloading 8 65’s on the lift gate!
@@chadsanner792 You make a great argument on why the rule is there. To try and keep the escalating bike costs down for the amateur class of racing, in an effort to make it more competitive. What the current costs in upgrades are, and what one shows up in, are not relevant. The rules state 2X retail for a claimed bike, that's what matters. After that, spend what one elects to. No one is twisting one's arm too. Everyone one does it with the understanding that they could lose the bike, and the over investment if the bike is claimed, not their $300k plus rig(s) and trailer(s). In regard to Star Yamaha, they took a gamble knowing the risks. A very risking one at that. Probably in excess of $50k. Maybe it was arrogance on their part, thinking, no one has the balls to claim our bike, especially with a Deegan riding it... Someone did. In the end, they got off easy... As for Brian Deegan, if Brian wasn't concerned, then why was he asking the kid, "Why are you doing this?" Him being concerned is completely understandable, Haiden is at the beginning of what could be a legendary career. He has a better start than he ever had... Haiden is his son, not Star Yamaha, he has the final say on what Haiden does on every level...
@@bigpapa1470 just to be clear on my opnion. I’m not saying they should have just ignored the rule as it was part of the rules. So if someone decided it was a good idea to choose to use this rule it looks like they lost a bike. I get all that. Now They are allowed however, to make a deal with the family to get them to not buy it or talk to them to explain why they think shouldn’t. We have no idea what was said about that part just hear say. I would also agree with you on leveling the playing field in the stock classes. Not so much If you’re gonna have a mod class. that class shouldn’t be limited or leveled. If so why even have it? If you can’t compete in the mod class due to money there is a class for you, the stock class. Limiting people from doing everything they can just down to a small amount? That’s what stock classes are for. My point about the vehicles they show up in was just a reference of how expensive the sport and general life expenses have become. There’s only a certain demographic that’s showing up to these things. You think a guy who can’t afford a good bike is gonna be able to buy a bike for 17k cash?? This kid showed up with 17k in cash. You telling me the class needs leveled for him due to money?? He!! No!! Obviously the kid can buy whatever he wants they just want a shortcut on the product. The rule isn’t to level the field. It’ll only allows people with a giant bank account to further circumvent the hard work. That is my big reason for the rule being dumped in that class. Also, my other point about what they show up in is you are not taking your kids to the am nationals all year on 100k a year job not spending almost a quarter of your gross income for the year on a bike. And Last, but not least there is absolutely none of this story that is verified other than he said she said. The guy that parked next to my buddy who was at the race said a guy he ran into at the creek told him…….. I wouldn’t decide who I support or who I do not on a gossip video. Some of the gossip is surly true, but to what extent? we have no idea.
If star didn’t have more then 18k in the bike, why would they even care? They have bikes coming out of their ears. Clamps, method wheels, enzo kyb, pipe and motor work I’m saying it was probably well over the 18 mark which is why they were sour
That kid was genius. A “I bought Deegan’s Bike” would have been great RUclips content. He did it fair and went about it the right way. That sucks he was mistreated.
its bullshit how a kid can drop mommys money on degans bike to use it for a youtube video to get all this hype over social media greedy and saltly is what it is... kids mad he is dogshit at the sport he chose cant get better so he causes drama and trys to fuck other peoples career
He didn’t do it for a RUclips video. There was beef from a few months ago when they got into each other racing at south wick. This was planned and it wasn’t for a RUclips video.
Is it odd that with the thousands of people at the Ranch that week, there has not been One Parent, track official, sponsor, manufacturer like Honda, Kawasaki, Gas Gas, KTM etc., the countless kids with their phones taking video... Not One Person has uploaded anything concerning this event... No Complaints filed... Nothing. the story is all Bullshit... Cooksey Media wanted clicks and subscribers... remember... there is always a motive to trashing others, and that is most likely profit.
@@traveler142 I agree 100%. Cooksey kept saying things like “harrassing this kid in the woods at night” and that the kid was “bullied” and “scared”? We’re talking about Loretta’s, a VERY family oriented event where that just wouldn’t be possible. If anything it was a chicken shit move and the kids lucky he didn’t get his ass kicked for pulling that shit in my opinion. Cooksey is a joke and obviously an idiot knowing that anybody with any sense will see right though his bullshit.

Story is, “somebody finally claims an over budgeted bike all the top teams show up with and team isn’t happy about it”. You can make a video about it for clicks without out outright accusing someone of cheating with absolutely no proof or evidence. He literally says parts are expensive and the rule should be 2.5 because these bikes cost a lot. Then immediately says they were cheating and that’s why it happened.
Also yes if there were people mad and threatening them that night that’s unacceptable and there had to be some security of some kind at this event. They should have been throwing people out.
Cheating in this case isn’t about running something illegal but rather running something others don’t have access to. This is the whole point of the rule. When it comes to star and the deegans it definitely has nothing to do with the cost of the parts, it’s about keeping their proprietary info locked down. Which again is the whole point of the rule, to keep amateur racing more fair.
Not to be overlooked is the "Provinace" of this bike. If you where to put it in a auction of sporting goods say in three years when he is probably the best of the Pro's what is it worth!! They Know by paying that small amount they would double thier money in the future not to mention the youtube boost.
this rule are only used by the losers, never heard of top guys buying top guy's bike, if you say this rule keep amateur racing more fair, then that is bs, the top kids in LL already have contracts waiting for them, those kids like this kid who tried to clain haiden's bike, is a kid who stood no chance in the competition. if he wanted a bike like haiden, he should work hard for it.
@@motofreak2772 If we abide by your theory then there should be no Mod classes whatsoever, and everyone racing must be an amateur and race stock bikes. Once you get into mod stuff you open a whole new can of worms as we saw in this case. The bike was not illegal, in mod class, but it may have proprietary stuff on it that Star might not want in public. LL effectively shot themselves in the foot by trying to maintain the claim rule in any mod class. So why did LL allow them then? Because it opened up a segment that allows these up and coming riders that are heading for Pro to test their skills. And it gives the Amateur classed a chance to mingle with them, and it brings not only more revenue, but more excitement and publicity. If anything, I think the claim rule should not be included in the mod classes, because you should be able to "run what ya brung", regardless. Either that or figure 3x on claim value. Why? Well, Factory secrets are expensive.
100%. I'm boycotting Star Yamaha, Yamaha and the Deegans. Not getting a dollar from me. I've never liked Brian but Haiden had a choice to make it right and chose not to. I get that he's young but right is right and wrong is wrong. He chose badly and I can't support that.
Brian Deegan should have been BANNED from all AMA events because of MINOR RIDER intimidation. I wonder how Brian would have felt being locked in a room behind closed doors with another kid's father, intimidating HIM (as he's a little weasel), because most fathers wouldn't intimidate someone elses kid, especially an under age one.. This needs to be brought back to the forefront of society and let The Mob judge Deegan for his actions. I hold no ill will towards Hayden, as he's just a kid. Brian Deegan is worse than a 'Beauty Pageant Mother'. He needs to find out how it feels to be as powerless as that kid did.

Man some of you guys in the comments just don’t get it. Wanting to eliminate this rule is a shame. Because once that happens all the top talent will be rolling in with full blown factory bikes leaving the kid racing out of a pick up truck no chance to make a name for himself. Is that what you really want? You’re going to kill amateur racing that way. I get it that you’re a big fan of Haiden and don’t want any negative light on him but you need to put yourself in the shoes of the other racers trying to go up against kids like that. David vs Goliath except y’all want to give Goliath the stone.
It's kind of bullshit that the kid racing out of the back of a truck had to pull this to make a name for himself. It's obvious by the timing of the claim that he was fucking with haiden.
@@mcgovney6969 what was wrong with the timing? They were going to work with Haiden to let him finish his motos. Claiming the bike doesn’t make a name for the kid either. But I bet next year star will use off the shelf motors so maybe then he stands a chance. You don’t even need to beat the factory guys to make a name for yourself, just keeping up and putting in an impressive ride can lead to big sponsors for these back of the truck kids.

And why are you so against fair racing in amateurs? Of course Deegan will still win on the fair motor, he proved that, but at least give the others a chance. This whole shenanigans obviously scared Star so hopefully next year them and all the other factory teams only bring off the shelf equipment.
My gripe with the channel. As a journalist, which is what you’re doing: journalism. Where’s the interviews? Or where you getting the information from. Would just like to know sources, and this just isn’t clickbait second hand stories. Have you talked to Star Racing, the Deegans, MX sports? How much homework are we doing. Just a thought. Not hating. Just like to know where the info is from.
Right I just heard a lot of “Supposedly” so in this Day, and Age where you can’t sling a dead cat and not hit a cell phone…no video? Seem’s kinda strange.
I heard this story the night my son got home from the race. Almost word for word with a little more detail on the claiming side. They were obviously hiding something when they are threating a dealerships franchise. I also agree, Deegan is major talent and didn't need the factory bike. Motocross is so damn political it is scarey and being a bully is just a dick move.
Sounds like a sore loser reaction and as stated a social media move. IDK how often do motors get changed at this level when you’re sponsored by this size of a team. I’ll also agree MX is full of BS politics so who knows. But pulling a contract would cost Yamaha a lot mote than a bike and a reputation. Think of the law suits, you cannot walk in and pull a contract in Canada without cause.
Dude, why not focus on the 250 2 strokes Vs 450 4 stroke rule that has excluded 250 2 stroke from their own original racing class, now that's the biggest single scam in dirt bike history. Jeez, people are too wound up over this but don't know the difference between a protest and claiming a bike. The claiming rule is in place to try to level the playing field a bit at what is supposed to be an amateur championship. A protest is where a teardown would occur to look for bikes that don't comply with the class rules. As we can see from the outcome of this fiasco, the claiming rule is a joke.
I’m a fan of the Deegan’s and when Haiden signed with star. I thought it was for the west coast supercross because when I saw what he was practicing on. I thought to myself, that’s a works bike that ain’t no stock bike. If that’s a stock bike. My riding skills are better than Jeremy McGrath. But what they were doing to that kid that protested the bike was a sh!t move. What I like to know is. Where was this kid dad when all of this bullying was happening to him? I can promise you. If that was my kid, I’d be right beside him. Because you know some kind of Bullsh!t is probably go down like that. 🤷🏼♂️
You don't have to ride a "stock bike" (why you pay 2x) AND it was a claim, not a protest... You people need to learn the facts of the sport before having such ridiculous comments.
Way too much $ pumped into the amateur racing. By dads or sponsors. Full stock, put your stickers on the bike, that's it, race. Like Cooksey said, "he didn't need it". But from what I've seen from the Deegan fam so far is that they are good people, work hard, and earn it.
"didnt need it" implies that Deegan actually had a factory bike. Fact is, he didnt. Brian has been pretty vocal about the fact that Haiden's bike is not what the pro Star guys get and Haiden himself has been vocal about the fact that he has to earn a pro bike. It's one of the reasons Haiden didnt race A class this year - he doesnt have access to the pro level Star bikes so Brian wasnt comfortable sending him into A class with inferior equipment. Like you said, the Deegans are good people.

In the comment he said there's a rule saying you have to race 1 year of B class. If that's true, that's one dumbass rule.
That’s what the 250 Limited (Stock) class is for. The 250 B is the mod class. He’s not the only factory bike racing in his class, but the haters will find anything to complain about.

The general is a stand up guy? In 2014 admitted cheating at oak hill when his kids bike was protested and found to be an over bore. Why wouldn't he bring a "factory" bike to the biggest am race of his kids career.
He kicked out Twitch because Twitch was better then him and outshined him....... At the time Twitch was HANDS DOWN the biggest rider for MM and in the pro Truck racing they were doing back then. Deegan HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN EGO FUCKBOY why everybody forgets this and thinks hes a "good dude" is clueless. They haven't watched it all go down for the last 25 years like I have.
Seems to be a whole lot of allegedly talk going on with this story. For one if Star and Deegan didn’t actually run illegal parts then it’s pretty fucked up to say they are guilty without any proof. That’s the worst part of Amateur racing. All the crybaby parents filing protests just because their kids suck and lost. It happened to me a few times when I raced as a kid. If they did cheat then shame on them but I don’t think they needed to or did.
Full on. The ugliest part of any sort of racing/competition is the ugly parent syndrome, whether you are talking Jnr MX, BMX, or many other sports. My sons (and their parents !) relished the day we left junior MX for all the petty jealousy, bullshit rumours, outright lies, and all the other baggage that came with their success.
Then why would Yamaha threaten to take a dealership away? Why did Yamaha make such a big deal about keeping the bike? MX is more about the rider than the machine. So many in MX don't think that though. MX is physical and mental fitness. Nothing to do with a little more power. After the rider it would be suspension, and then, at this level, not that important.
@@CookseyMedia if it’s 3x then you do not understand the purpose of the claiming rule. It’s meant to make sure teams dont over spend on amateur racing. So rather than raise the claiming fee, teams should respect it and limit what they spend on a AMATEUR bike.
This is why the stock and modified classes are important. There should definitely be a tear down rule like in the pros. I remember when you could claim bikes in the pros before the production rule went into effect.
Dumb move by that kid and his camp. As a Yamaha backed rider, protesting Yamaha's top rider at the race and one of their most popular riders overall is not a well thought out move. Sounds like clout chasing gone wrong.
What happens next year and the year after that if people claim factory support bikes. I'm sure the factory's will pull out support in those events and the sport as a whole will suffer, sponsors, you name it will, start pulling back support. Everyone will lose. Make a rule change where if someone claims that a rider is cheating they have to pay a fee to make the claim and if they are right then the fee is reimbursed and the rider who cheated pays a fine and gets a suspension.
Given the fact that Star has had the fastest 250 for a while now, you’ve got to think they were highly motivated not to turn that bike over to a third party. So yeah, why bring it! That said, with how good production bikes are, wouldn’t it make sense for the AMA to have a production bike rule at the amateur level? We used to have stock and modified classes back in the 1970s, with the NMA, before there was a LL. There were Occasional protest over someone riding a modified in the stock class. My brother raced his stock bike in modified and often did better than he did in stock. Horsepower doesn’t play near the role in MX that people think it does. It’s more about usable power, and production bikes make more power than most riders can use. Hadens lap times with a stock motor are not surprising. Eli is the only factory Yamaha guy that hasn’t detuned the factory 450. He might go even faster if he did!
Its not about contesting the rider in this case. Its more of is Star using things that only factory yamaha can get? It may be a totally legal motor but say use a certain head or lifters or oil pump or rings and pistons that we average consumer can't buy for our yamaha. This is amateur where every ride should be able to be built by any racer. If you allow factory participation into amateur races well then what and or who's to keep them honest with any class? Its a great rule especially if AMA is allowing factories participate in the actual racing and have their own racing teams. Like Star Yamaha.

I wish we had video proof or audio recordings of the alleged interrogation as well as the threats that night from Yamaha. If those things did 100% happen then that is proof of some wrong doing. Cops do stuff like this all the time. You apply pressure and then people will incriminate them selves. The actions by the team during the process and after (swapping the motor) proves they did actually have something in the bike… was it still legal probably but it definitely was unobtainable by normal riders. Plus If Tim actually interrogated the kid with only Brian present and no actual parent or guardian present Then they 100% need to look into legal action against him or Mx sports. The fact that the kid was strong armed by Yamaha and they mentioned the loss of his local dealerships franchise. If it’s true then it just looks bad for Yamaha, Mx Sports, and the AMA amateur race scene. Deegan family is great for the sport but I’ve had enough of the favoritism at races! They should earn it like everyone else. I honestly believe mod class should just be removed completely from amateur racing. Suspension work should be the only thing allowed.

A kit suspension alone can be north of 5 grand. When u think about it like that; plus other miscellaneous parts such as triple clamps, wheels, et cetera, then star could've easily had over 9k into this kids bike. Also, this is Deegans mechanics first year. I doubt the kid even thought about it like that. As far as the bike is concerned I'm gonna chalk that up to a logistical fuck up. Now Deegan and big man interrogating this kid is fucked up, that's not right
Just opinion regardless of experience your mechanic would have 0 to do with what the rider has for a bike. I'd be telling the mechanic what will be on the bike for specific series/races. If stars management didn't know Loretta rules they need to get their shit together
This is a trash rule and needs to be trashed and Loretta should do a tear down on all winning bikes. That would do away with the cheating. Also this kid planned this to claim his bike. And it wasn’t to ride on his RUclips channel. That’s crap. He wanted to set back deegan and try to stir up shit. Well I can tell u I hope the kid don’t make it to the pros cuz I’m sure deegan isn’t gonna play nice with him.
@@adredsox79 If star didn’t get all upset about it there wouldn’t have even been a stir up so I don’t think that was the kid’s intentions. Honestly if it were me I would have just bought the bike just to make Brian pay me double to get it back. Or sell it on eBay a year from now when Haiden goes pro. Or sell it to Honda because star was dumb enough to put something they shouldn’t have on there…
Ya know, I’ve hesitated from subscribing from your takes on certain situations about riders. But you’re the only guy who’s bringing light to this “dark side” to motocross. I appreciate it and it should be more talked about. We shouldn’t play favorites in our sport no matter the audience they have or the bike they ride.

@@fjbfuckjoebiden8548 It's NOT BS for sure, I saw the whole thing go down when I was there. Were you there, or are you someone working for Yamaha/Deegan trying to clean this mess up??? I think this guy is doing a great job bringing the reality of the sport to light. Things like this should not happen. It needs to be an even playing field no matter who you are or how much money you have. Situations like this deter people from the sport once they figure out it's impossible to win against the factory boys. Totally bad for the sport we all have grown to love. I am sure of one thing, I will never own a Yamaha or give them an ounce of my money or sympathy.
I really don’t think Star Yamaha would risk their reputation. Haiden rides the bike they give him. I don’t think he knows that much about motors to do anything illegal. The guy wanted to claim his bike, it’s the MSRP plus 50%. He backed out at the last minute. It’s a Star racing Yamaha, they made a bike just like they do for their national bikes. You can do anything to a motor you want as long as you don’t touch the piston! So basically they didn’t cheat in my eyes. We all know Haiden Deegan rips on a bike! If his bike was way way faster than any others he would of pulled the hole shot every moto! He did not pull the hole shot in every moto! Anyone can protest another rider, I know at Hangtown for the dodge national you gotta pay $300 and they can rip your bike apart. If something is illegal you get dq’d and the guy who protested gets his $300 back! If you are all legal you get the money and have to put your bike back together yourself! This is all allegations and I’m sure it didn’t go down exactly as you heard! But you never know! It’s amateur racing! Moto dads can get outta control when their kid gets beat by a faster rider! If you watch the Deegans RUclips video it’s even brought up. Like the 50 class was on the gate and someone said after this moto there will be 250 protests from outta control moto dads. And I believe that Deegan raced the 250B mod class. 250B limited is the stock class. So I don’t see any fouls in this! Star built a bad ass bike, KTM did too cause Dax Bennick was hauling ass as well and even beat Deegan in one moto! Schoolboy Deegan swept but Dax was right there keeping Haiden honest. Just my 02 cents. Dig your vlogs Cooksey 👍🏻👍🏻
Is this the Motor builder? For LL it’s double not plus 50%. I don’t think they were cheating, but had some “factory” stuff they didn’t want people to see.
Gotta agree with Jim, Haiden was running 250B MOD so the stock shit is out the window. For schoolboy I dunno what the parameters are, if it was stock or mod but if it's a mod bike in any class the claim BS is lame at best.
@@pinwheel1212 Schoolboy is a mod class. That said, Haiden's bike was not illegal or even anything special. Star amateur bikes are pretty off-the-shelf.
The Coombs family is like the Mafia of MX. And let me tell you. Where I live there was a big ordinance that the township next to us was passing for noise and riding. There was a big meeting. Everyone in the area that rides went to. The news was there etc... Well the big deal was Tim Cotter was gonna be there and he is like the AMA spokesman or something big. He got up there a laid down a giant fart. I was embarrassed how he just got up there and really didn't say anything. He basically introduced himself and said what his job is. Didn't fight or stick up for anyone or anything. After that day I have never renewed my AMA card. He completely failed at his job. That's my firsthand impression of that guy. And the ordinance was passed. Basically the ordinance was something along the lines of you can't ride on your property unless you own a certain point of acreage. Etc it was Hampton Twp. In Pennsylvania. Allegheny county. I'm sure whoever wants can Google it
Cotter has been full of himself (and sometimes $hit) for 30 years. He did the announcing at the fireball 100 in fawn twp. years ago and didn't mind making a few bucks from that though. I live in Westmoreland county and I remember this happening out there in Hampton.
Boss I live south of Pittsburgh south Fayette area is there a track in Hampton township. A closer track would be nice instead of going to switchback 51 miles away, or creekside 28 miles away. Now days more money for gas so I can moto longer.
Micky Boone almost got Bob Hannah's OW 26 water cooled bike in 1976. Almost. Privateer John Roeder successfully claimed Marty Tripes' brand new 1979 RC250 works Honda at the opening round of the 1979 AMA 250 Nationals. After Tripes bike claim, it didn't happen again and the era of those sweet works Hondas started to come out.
It all comes down to this: The factories run the show. Racing is for selling bikes. The factories make and break the rules. Anyhow, if he wasn't claiming such a high profile rider as Deegan, This wouldn't be a story. Just my opinion....😊
I raced 14 years and honestly this is BS. That whole family has devoted there lives to motor sports. Get over it Haden is the cleanest young racer I’ve ever watched. Motocross is lucky to have brian deegan is genuinely the worst thing ive ever read in this sport. Motocross would be lucky if deegans slimey ass wasn’t a part of it anymore
I'm happy with the outcome, it was 250b mod class not stock. Such a bullsh rule, Sure tear it down to make sure it's legit but you shouldn't have to give away a bike that probably has huge sentimental value. I've watched Deegans vids for a while and he's kept alot of bikes of his and Dangerboys for sentimental value.
It's a great rule. And contrary to the drama queen Cooksey, the bike was within the rules and off-the-shelf. Just because Star was upset about the bush league stunt pulled by the claimer, doesnt mean they were caught cheating. Teams like to keep memorable bikes. You can be in favor of the rule (I am) but also know when the claim is a stunt and out of line (this is one of those cases). This had nothing to do with the $ either as you can buy team bikes if you know the right people for about $6-7k at the end of each season. This was the principle. Which is why the kid's own sponsor talked him out of the stunt.
@@davidbiagi2932 lotsa teams sell their bikes. Employees pocket the cash. Whatever you pay for used bikes has fuck all to do with what teams sell their leftovers for. If they have this rule the cost to claim it should be double the cost of the bike as it sits. So ad up all the parts cost and then double it. Aside from that it’s a rule they should only do in the stock class. Or eliminate the mod class altogether. If you have a mod class you shouldn’t try to limit that class in any way other than cheating. If you want to level the playing field so bad make them ride stock bikes. Absolutely nobody wants to do that. Well I should say most people do not wanna only race stock bikes. If you do that’s why there is a stock class.
Putting a lot of money into the bike is not cheating but in the amature ranks the claim rule can beat you up. What sucks is its usually someone that cant beat you straight up so they want your bike.
Bro rich people in every sport have an advantage. Mercedes and redbull spend 500 million a year on development and destroy the competition year after year. I do not like the idea of adults harassing kids like that. If the kid is under 18, then all that talk needs to be towards the parents. I experienced issues where adults tried to persuade me aggressively. Specifically, playing school sports when I didn't want to. I wanted to be at the race track instead. The coaches weren't being jerks as much as they didn't hear the word "no" the first time. When they knocked on my door to the house to ask again, my Dad answered. They understood his "No" the first time. So I can imagine this kid being pushed around after he made his decision to buy the bike. Rules are rules. I like Deegan a lot, but this issue actually makes me lose respect for Yamaha and Deegans some. I've been in Brennan's shoes before. I had a dude yell at me to get my bike off the track after I crashed and broke my ribs. I was in his way, I get it it. But I couldn't move that quickly without air in my lungs and broken ribs. Dude didn't even ask if I was okay while I was laying on the ground next to the bike. I was 13 years old. I bet that dude wouldn't have said that stuff to me if my Dad was there. I was with friends riding that day.
Again, I'm not arguing if this rule should be removed or not. Currently, its in the books, but if it was removed, I wouldn't care. I'm disappointed in how it all went down. Seems like a lot of shady bully tactics towards a minor.
Maybe he wants to prove that his bike won’t make him any faster and that it’s all rider for performance? Unfortunately, Yamaha brought their factory bike and shit the bed when it was claimed
According to Everything Moto expert Andrew bird… the bike was special because Star had installed a “highly modified powerband” on it. Expert Andrew bird went on to explain "For those of you that don't know, the powerband is only ever found on a full factory bike, and plays a huge role in the performance difference between a factory and stock bike” and that "that would make sense why Star wouldn't want to give up the bike and risk their proprietary powerband tech to be disseminated throughout the industry”… This guy Andrew bird must be a frik’n genius. How can one person know SOOO MUCH about racing motorcycles. With the secret stuff he knows, all the other bike makers should be trying to hire him… (…if they haven’t already). Just because they don’t want their hard earned R&D out there doesn’t mean they cheated. Doesn’t mean they didn’t. But picking one possibility out of many as a reason isn’t the truth necessarily so shouldn’t be looked at negatively. Could be something as simple as they want to keep the Bike as a piece of history. Could be they didn’t want another team getting handed a setup that took them hours and hours to figure out on engine dyno’s. Teams have engine builders. It’s a mod class. Just cause your engine builder isn’t as good as theirs doesn’t mean you get to basically steal that knowledge for the small price of a stock bike.

Done with Yamaha after watching this. Immediately selling our bikes and moving to another brand. Very disappointing to hear this. They clearly had a factory motor in the bike and were cheating. Deegan better go pro because I’ll be at Loretta’s next year and will be claiming his bike if he’s there racing. We’ll do a full RUclips video tearing it apart and showing exactly what’s in it.
First off, Haidens bike is not a "factory" bike. It's not like say Levi Kitchens bike, which is factory. Deegan bike is a mod 250. Nothing illegal about it. He is just that good. The kids grown up on motorcycles since he could stand practically. He did a back flip at 10 years old FFS! He just knows how to rife really well and Aldo he's just sixteen and relatively small framed and light. I hate when a kid like Haiden works his ass off to be great and people get jealous because he smokes them with ease so they start this bullshit. Put in the work if you want to hang. Get on a great team, like Star Yamaha racing. They know how to get these kids correct. Come on man, Carmichael mom trained the GOAT, and she trains the kids at Star frequently. Leave the kid alone and just enjoy watching a champion being made!!
How do you know the kid hasn't worked his ass off??? Because his channel is not as big as Deegan's. All those B class riders at LL work their asses off, it's no joke to make it in that class, lemme tell ya. And why did they throw such a fit about giving up the bike, if it was in spec??
I didn't saybthe kid didn't work his ass off. I said he needs to work a lot harder. They probably threw a fit because they have to deal with jealous haters all the time, just because they get smoked. Haiden is legit and so is star. They could have had proprietary mods on thoer that were perfectly legal but secret. Nothing days you have to share mechanic information with anyone. It's just a shitty way to try and harass someone just because they are better than you. Star does not give their amateur riders factory bikes for this very reason. Haidens 250 is weaker than say Levi's 250. Not the same at all. Haiden is just talented and fast, ran a sand tire if I'm not mistaken and just wins. The tittle of this video could easily have been How Brennan Scholfield and a Yamaha dealership in Canada tried to steal Star Yamaha’s secrets for $9000.
@@CookseyMedia accept they would have had to blunder something. Winning isn’t a blunder. A more apt tittle along that thought process would be “AMA amateur rule blunder exposes how star Yamaha did what factory Yamaha and JGR couldn’t.” I get that the perspective of this video is possible. Just pointing out how there could be more probable possibilities. We all know Yamaha struggled for a long time until Star took reins in the 250’s and now the 450’s. Clearly they figured that bike out better than everyone else. So why would they want that out there? You said yourself Haiden doesn’t need to cheat. So what’s more likely. A shop like Star Yamaha has something to hide they did wrong? Or something they want and should keep to themselves they’ve done very right? Why would Star take the risk when Haiden might have been able to win if they painted a Suzuki blue and had him ride that? It really doesn’t make sense.
If he had A kit suspension on that bike the forks and shock were worth over 17K alone, definitely need to adjust the rule for the mod class to 3x msrp.
That’s the point. They dont want amateurs running A kit or works suspension. The whole point of the rule is to deter teams from building overly expensive bikes. It’s a good rule.
In no way is this cheating. There are no rules determining what you can run other than basically cc limits. This situation would have been very similar if it was a Mitch Payton backed rider. Do you think Ricky's or Bubba's bikes were any different?
So we’re gonna accuse him of cheating without any proof? Why hasn’t anyone done this to any of the other Star bikes from past Loretta’s? Why didn’t anyone want to claim the factory bikes from Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Gas Gas, Husky and other Yamaha bikes? What’s the difference between the Star and Factory Yamaha NSA/Rock River bikes? I’ll tell you why, it’s because it’s “Haiden Deegan” is why. It’s all just a stunt to try to make drama out of a situation so people can get views. What a way to try to tarnish the image of a 16 year old kid and try to take away his accomplishments from Loretta’s this year. 🤦🏻♂️

You don't have to claim anyone is cheating to ''Claim'' the Bike. That's the Rule and everyone knows it and should be ready for the consequences. The Kid can claim it for any reason...maybe just to make money off selling it. If you ride a legal bike, you would do well if you get double the money at every race, especially if it's near Stock!
So are you saying anytime some up and coming talent that possibly could be the next real deal, just go ahead and claim his bike and make some profit.

A kit suspension can be 20 grand
This is a trash rule and needs to be trashed and Loretta should do a tear down on all winning bikes. That would do away with the cheating. Also this kid planned this to claim his bike. And it wasn’t to ride on his RUclips channel. That’s crap. He wanted to set back deegan and try to stir up shit. I subscribed to Complete Racing Solutions yesterday. The program is sick! Thanks Cooksey

You can be in favor of the rule (I am) but also know when the claim is a stunt and out of line (this is one of those cases).

If you have a mod class you shouldn’t try to limit that class in any way other than cheating. If you want to level the playing field so bad make them ride stock bikes.

The court is in KTM, Honda, Husky, or Gas Gas's court now. Get this kid a different brand to ride and make him successful. Bullying at any level should not be tolerated and the AMA should have done something about it.
I bet you were bullied lol
I could have sworn that there was some anti-bullying clause in the claim field too. Like, if someone conspires to prevent a claim, it's the same as having refused to yield to the claim.
@@therawlifefamily people need to stop being so weak and cry about everything
@@fjbfuckjoebiden8548 I bet I wasn't, but you are welcome to come try. :)
@@therawlifefamily There is, if you try and claim the bike to give it back to the owner or similar your at risk of being banned as well
Rumor is this has been a thing going on from the 65 class
Man I've like you and your channel but you make claims like it's solid fact that he cheated . Not cool , not cool at all . You say this looks bad on deegan, well until this video I haven't heard nothing about him n star cheating. If anything your making it look bad . If you got facts that they cheated , then lay the facts on the table. He allegedly did this , they allegedly did that . Again not cool
I say allegedly so I don’t get sued, MX Sports is sue happy. No idea If he cheated, but it doesn’t matter. The kid is gifted!
@@CookseyMedia he's definitely an outstanding rider and the Deegans as a whole are not the types to cheat knowingly in my opinion. Brian's definitely a shrewd business guy and I don't think he would put his son at risk of bei g suspended from racing for at least a yr.
@@CookseyMedia What you are doing here is simple click baiting. 😄
Laughable.
@@CookseyMedia you are just trying to make money on deegans name and that's pathetic
oh Brennen Schofield is that dude who drove right into Haiden at the wick
Is this the same Brennan Schofield who crashed into Deegan earlier in the year at the wick?
You happy you made what's gonna be your all time leading views on a video, congrats you exposed two minors in the process.. ground breaking stuff your doing here what would we do without you
This rule is so stupid. It’s not all about the bike’s cost. Using my ‘04 RM125 project for example, it gets hard to find parts, so you might not be able to get new ones. Secondly, sentimental value. I never wanna sell the thing so it would suck to let it go. And all the hours of testing and labor are gone completely
100%
“All it does is cause problems “ yet you’re the one on youtube talking about it. Allegedly this allegedly that, highly doubt anyone was harassing anyone about it.
I think you all missed the point I don’t think it’s he was running unobtainable parts, it’s the thousands of hours into testing suspension valving, knowing where to and how far to port heads ect not that it can’t be purchased it’s the mechanical knowledge to setup his bike they didn’t want to just give it away regardless of the money.

100%
@@littlecaldwell2487 you are completely stupid but thats why your boyfriend loves you
I didn't saybthe kid didn't work his ass off. People need to enjoy watching him instead of hating on him because he's a great rider.
@@littlecaldwell2487 wtf has a YT channel got to do with a riders success or talent?? 😂😂😂 Deegan's social media is so large BECAUSE he's such a good rider. And you seem to believe Yamaha "throwing a fit" is proof of cheating. That's the same as believing Brennan (a rider who doesn't even make top 10) protesting the winners bike who rides THE SAME BRAND, proof that he's just looking to smear the Deegan name🤷♂️
After all that it's "Maybe they got caught " ? Thanks for wasting my time.
The tittle of this video could easily have been How Brennan Scholfield and a Yamaha dealership in Canada tried to steal Star Yamaha’s secrets for $9000.
Could have been, or “Star blunders amateur race and allows bike to be claimed, secrets exposed”
Steal? The rule is place for a reason. Spoken like a true fanboy!
Steal? By playing by the rules?
Could have been “ Sandbagger still needs to use equipment that other people can’t get”!
Deegan was caught with a cheater bike back on 85s
If he had A kit suspension on that bike the forks and shock were worth over 17K alone, definitely need to adjust the rule for the mod class to 3x msrp.
That’s the point. They dont want amateurs running A kit or works suspension. The whole point of the rule is to deter teams from building overly expensive bikes.
It’s a good rule.
The rule is there so people don’t spend that much on the bike.
@@S0RELOSER every kid in the Mod class has A kit, engine mods, ecu mods, etc… so any bike would be a bargain at 17K brand new.
Thank you for taking it as it is and not hoping on Deegans nuts. It's shady point period.
In no way is this cheating. There are no rules determining what you can run other than basically cc limits. This situation would have been very similar if it was a Mitch Payton backed rider. Do you think Ricky's or Bubba's bikes were any different?
No what was it back then split fire pro circuit? That’s what happens when kids are that good they get the best shit…
@@CG-11235spiral Did anyone ever see AC's kx 85s those things were works of art, well any of the top kawi riders really.
Want to know why moto is declining, because of shit like this. Rumors, allegations, blah blah blah. This why sponsors stay away. Click bait bs.
100%
Also to get their 5 minutes of fame bc they know they’ll never be anyone when it comes to motocross. But there’s always those kids ( mostly their parents ) that whine and cry bc their kid loses and so they protest the winner even though their kid wasn’t anywhere even close
0:30 hey do you have any other examples of bikes that were claimed? I never heard of Alessi. Has anyone ever been caught with illegal modifications? New subscriber here
That's so crazy! Not sure if I believe all of it, but if even half of it happened that way, it's still crazy wrong. Thanks for the scoop Cooksey.
I used to race dirt track a little bit and one of the classes I'd race was a claimer class. If I did good that night somebody would usually buy the car and I'd get into another one
You don't have to claim anyone is cheating to ''Claim'' the Bike. That's the Rule and everyone knows it and should be ready for the consequences. The Kid can claim it for any reason...maybe just to make money off selling it. If you ride a legal bike, you would do well if you get double the money at every race, especially if it's near Stock!
how would he be making money paying $17,500?
So are you saying anytime some up and coming talent that possibly could be the next real deal, just go ahead and claim his bike and make some profit. Haiden wasn't even in the hunt for the Championship in that class because of the dnf and he wasn't in the 450B class so the motive for the claim is very suspicious in my mind.
@@bradypross5423 if the stock bike he's riding cost $8500 and he sells it for $17.500 he just doubled his money. Smh wouldn't you think.
@@bradypross5423 Someone could believe it's ''Special'' or just want it because it WAS Deegan's bike...Or, the Kid really believes it had works parts and would be worth Bucks to another Team. If it was pretty much Stock, then Deegan would be making good money. That's the ''Spirit'' of the Rule.
