I think if a bike is claimed. They should not identify who claimed it until the event is over. The bike should stay with AMA officials until then in a specified claim area. If the rider needs the bike for another moto they they should be allowed to ride from the Claim area to the track. Any repairs done to it between motos should be under the eye of the AMA official and no removed part leaves the AMA claim area. Just my .02 I see a lawsuit happening if they locked the boy in a room to question him without a guardian.
Once the bike is claimed, it no longer belongs to the original owner. And presumably, it's being claimed because it's not legal for the class. Or thought to be an unfair advantage. I was surprised they were going to let Hayden continue to race it. You would think, the AMA wouldn't allow the bike to be raced by anyone, until its proven to fall within the rule book.
The rule exists for a reason. Keep those $70k bikes out of amateur racing. How can amateur riders have a shot at proving themselves if they’ve always been at a HUGE disadvantage to the factory kids since the start of their racing career. Also, someone owns that bike, whether it’s Star or the Deegan’s or anyone else, the bike has an owner. The rule is there to keep people from coming to these events with equipment way more advanced than 98% of the people at the races as an amateur. If you want to come to the race with a $70k bike, be prepared to lose it. I get the whole secret parts thing with Star and not wanting to give the other teams information, but just don’t bring that equipment to amateur nationals then if you don’t want to lose it. If amateur racing didn’t turn into semi-pro racing there wouldn’t be an issue because nobody would have a $70k bike.
It's simple Fan Boys!...the Rule is known and there to stop cheating so it doesn't mean SHIT if Deegan's popular or not. The OWNER has to comply or face the consequences. If the Kid tried to claim it then it should be his with NO interference by anyone.
I totally get what you're saying but it's just a double-edged sword because either way your bikes getting taken if that's what happens so but I definitely agree they don't need to be riding those high dollar bikes against kids who are literally riding a stock bike for the most part it really is a disadvantage in that part alone
@@2strokin70 what's the other side of the sword? Other than people interfering with the claiming process, how can anybody lose other than those who brought the bike to the race and agreed to the rules?
the rich kids can go and get bikes when the kids that work their ass off getting sponsors for bikes and getting a bike for free get their bikes taken from them and then they have to rely on sponsors or their parents to buy another bike and do the same exact thing to it, putting time into the frame, ecu, suspension dialing, weight loss secrets that take time. all these factors that they have that the Lorettas officials don’t think about.
I'm not in the MX sport but my kids are in the kart racing sport. We have claim rules on engines, tires all the time and stuff gets claimed all the time. If I'm ever in a situation to claim better equipment for my kids to race,by God I'm going to do it. The claim rule is to keep the playing field even. Brennan should have NEVER recanted that claim. That claim rule is there for a reason. To keep these factory bikes from running in amateur class. Doesn't matter why he claimed it, doesn't matter what he was going to do with it, doesn't matter who the bike belonged to. Seems to me that Brennan got the shaft from back room deals because the Yamaha team didn't want to lose that tricked out amateur bike!!!
Would not be surprised it happened. I like the Deagan but something similar happened to me at a ski race i was a gate judge. I disqualified a top athlete because she did not turn a gate. I got called in by the head judge of the race and was told i could not do that because she was a future olympian. A lot of pressure was put on me to be sure of my decision. I was an adult with experience and it did rough me up. I kept my decision because it was what happened but i felt there was two rules going on: one for the elite and one for the rest. I disqualified 3 others during that race for the same reason and i was never questioned. Not same sport or reason but same kind of problem management.
Hey Johnny, check out the John Roeder story. He claimed a real Honda works bike back in the late 70's then let a magazine tear it apart and photograph it.
Bill Barlow, Micky Boone, John Roeder all tried it and got black balled from the sport. Roeder was the only one to get the bike, Marty Tripes Factory Honda.
Steve Matthes asked last month if having all this publicity puts a target 🎯 on this kids back. Absolutely yes. Steve was right on this situation. I agree it does. What a chit show this is turning out to be.
@@alchemist3724 Can we just let this incident go away? I need to promote Yamaha and let everyone know how good they are. I have a new 2023 bike being delivered in the next couple of weeks. Lets not jeopardize that, OK.
I believe that the truth to all this is extremely simple. After the bike was claimed, star Yamaha paid the family off to rescind the claim, and had to sign a NDA. Money talks... the end.
@@terryfonz4603 Thats fine as long as he sticks to a factory approved NDA narrative to make it go away. NDA's dont stop you from talking they only prevent you from saying things the party that the NDA protects doesn't like or approve.
@@K31011 theirs no way that kid signed an NDA. If you watched his and his mechanics interview their was nothing they could have said that would have been more damaging to Yamaha, Star and especially the Deegans. They’d have been better off handing over an finding out they had illegal parts as that’s already the narrative most assume plus the rest of this. Openly or implied the exposure of: -bullying a minor -harassment -an egregious performance on arrogance, classism and wealth domination in the sport -clear cheating implications -monopolising -corporate rule breaking with exemption from punishment. I don’t know what else is left on the table for the NDA to say not to discuss…
odd that no other manufacturer spoke out against this "cheating"... no parents from the hundreds of riders there that week spoke out... no video or even a picture of bulling at the track from the hundreds of kids there with camera's on their phones... You People are too gullible to believe two kids that their Dad had to step forward and drop the claim.
He could get the bike. But he was clearly bullied, harassed and his sponsors blackmailed into letting it go. He had no other choice if he wanted to continue a serious career in racing MX. But he still had the choice.
Fascism dude? I’m 100% of the opinion Brendan should’ve gotten the bike but let’s not be regarded. This was a valuable lesson that the rules don’t apply to everyone.
The whole reason I am failing to believe what cooksey is saying is because surely this kid should have had parental supervision. Surely the parent would have had to put the money up for a start to get this ball rolling. Secondly the bike is being claimed and therefore with Deegan being on a Star bike it would surely mean that Brian Deegan shouldn't have even been involved with these proceedings and Star team staff should have been in attendance and thirdly with something as big as this there should surely be more then one AMA representative overlooking this situation. Finally I will say this is why the AMA needs an MX3 class for 15-18 year olds.
the AMA let guys that do take out moves at the pro level continue to race its been going on since the 90s and they only fine them peddly amounts or take away a point its a black eye to the sport and how someone could cheat on purpose is really irritating race with integrity noone rides full throttle you dont need a works bike you just need a works brain
Because you can't claim hearsay legally, right now it's one's words against another's. Even if there's a recording you have to say "allegedly" to avoid being challenged in court, because you would have to prove the source and context, although it's rare (usually with deep pockets and desperation). So this is the kids perspective, but he can't prove it especially with no supporting witnesses.
My only thing with this story is that with all the wild allegations is that the kid who tried to claim the bike has been quite about the whole thing along with his parents. Surely if that did go down with the MX sports people interrogating the kid where was the parents? If he was intimidated why aren’t the parents speaking out about it? If people were harassing the kid over night why didn’t we hear about it sooner because I’m sure that would have spread faster if true because of the last name. There’s alot of allegedly and not proven facts so far. I think it’s just getting blown way out of proportion now.
Maybe we will never know. It doesn't really benefit anybody by intimidating somebody into taking back the claim. However, stories of paying people off to take back these claims are common. Easier to buy people off under the table than to intimidate people in other ways and have that hanging around forever.
None of the arguments here are relative in that the RULE states you are subject to it if you enter....and the Kid followed the rule. The Kid didn't get the bike. We know he claimed it, we don't know WHY he didn't get it. That is the story, not weather he or any other Rider was talented, on a Program or what have you. If he was coerced into dropping the claim with threats that is wrong and it needs to be explored by the AMA since the Rule is and was in effect at this Race. Simple.
"Cooksey is a real journalist". Really? A real journalist would have reached out to Brennan for comment, He would have reached out to the Deegans and/or Yamaha for comment. Maybe reach out to the AMA for comment? Too much to ask? A real journalist would have presented what was alleged without bias. He clearly, doesn't hide his bias. A journalist would present actual facts and evidence for the audience to make their decision. Cooksey runs a gossip channel and it looks like you do too, unfortunately.
yeah i love how he keeps saying he talked to everyone involved, but didn't actually talk to the most important people involved. what a tool. the new steve matthes.
I hope to see Brennon in the pros soon. I wish he would of stuck to his guns and bought that bike. The kids got a lot of heart for trying to claim that bike but unfortunately the sport has people in it that pursued your intentions. As a fan of the sport and x rider/racer I pray this sport doesn't turn into NASCAR or the NFL or a Clinton campaign.
I love the Deegans and I’ll continue to support them. Although, I do not agree with what occurred. Rules for me, not for thee.. That’s a big problem in this world. Deegans are ambassadors to the sport, they should be the first ones to follow the rules. Just my opinion and you know the saying, opinions are like buttholes. We all have 1..
Go on Deegans pod cast and hear what happened from the horses mouth. Absolute clickbait story for cheap hits. Cooksie averages 2k hits a vid and he gets 70k for telling lies. Shame on the bullshitters when the Deegans fo so so much for the sport..
The correct answer from the Deegan camp should have been "You wanna claim Haiden's bike? Awesome, absolutely! We know what an up and coming rider he is - how can we facilitate this so that the fans get to see how awesome our relationship with Star is?" Not. "We will target and harass you"
You have to be a rider in the same class to claim it but, I'd also take a Hurricane works bike. If I got the motors and piano, I'd trade you for 10 cases of Guinness.
No one was accused of cheating. Claiming is a rule and anyone can do it. No one should be involved other than the AMA, the person claiming the bike and the owner. Not anyone else ! Tim cotter, Matt walker should have had nothing to say about this. The fault is on star Yamaha and Yamaha USA. If Yamaha had contacted Brennans sponsor, which was a Yamaha dealer and told them that they would pull there bikes if this went through, then shame on Yamaha! Glad Brennan spoke up and told his side of the story.
Someone should reach out to this kid and his family for an interview and their take on this. It's crazy how Cooksey has more information on this then what was presented on pulp Monday evening. I'm sure they had a watered down version because of the racer x relation with pulp and weekend. I'd like to hear what this kid has to say what really happened
@@enacku I agree it's just crazy how others reporting this have alot more details then the individuals and companies who have barely spoke. I bet Star isn't at Loretta's next year
Let's address the elephant in the room, this claiming someone else's bike rule is ridiculous! There should be rules set in stone, and if a rider is suspected of cheating or breaking those rules, appropriate action is taken. For someone to be able to buy your bike without your consent is ridiculous.
It sure is! Why would the manufacturers want anything to do with ama? Really, we have to sell our technology? Piss off! Theyll all be riding massimos before its over! Lol
its the dumbest shit ever.. I mean and you don't even get to keep the money that you're forced to pay over the original MSRP that is the dumbest shit I've ever heard and I honestly don't even know why that is a rule I figure if they suspect someone of cheating you call them to the fucking back grab their motorcycle and you tear it down and look at it I know that's how they do it at Sprint car races just saying
You're allowed to refuse the offer but you're suspended from the following years race. It actually makes sense, makes people put there money where their mouth is rather than having hundreds of spec complaints they have to look into every race weekend.
I don’t like the rule. I don’t think it’s right an engine builder can bust there butt, do what others can’t, get hired by the best companies, then have their work sold for a very very low price. I don’t think that’s right. I think this rule should be changed.
What everyone is failing to realize is this, give most those kids Haiden's bike and it still want help them contend with the top riders. Deegan, Bennick , and a few more are on another level. Give the top 5 riders a stock bike and i guarantee you they remain the top 5 riders.
@@ricksmith7659 Actually, what people are failing to realize is, the kid who claimed the bike should have been given the bike, no question asked. It's the rule. And the AMA should have given it to him on the spot. The only thing in this guys video that doesn't make sense is, that Hayden didn't have anything to do to do with it. Hayden is well aware of the level of equipment he is riding. He went out picking cherries in the B class, on a cheater bike. Not a good look...
@@ricksmith7659 I understand that. He was there with the funds. There should have been no questions asked the moment he showed them the money. All the back and forth conversations about why and who put him up to it, were irrelevant to the rule book. And if the AMA was aware of any type of intimidation tactics, there should have been consequences, in my opinion.
@@bmotomo421 I watched that kid explain what happened and I'm pissed at what Deegan and Star did. If I were that kids dad I would of choked Deegan and who ever else was badgering my son.
Johnny, the KID earned and "came up' with all of the $ for that bike himself. His dad specifically told the kid that the kid would have to come up with his own money, so the kid worked his ass off and saved his own $.
MX Sports Loretta’s supplemental rules Rule #6 Technical protests must have a good faith basis in fact. Protests deemed by the Race Official to be frivolous or filed with the intention of harassing, annoying or disturbing the protested rider, may not be accepted and may be subject to penalty for conduct detrimental to the sport of motocross.
A protest is different from a claim, according to the AMA, so that would not apply here. Even if MX Sports' rules had used the word claim in that rule, it could legally only be applied to non-AMA events.
That whole part about this guy getting that kid alone in a room is what I'm talking about! So it's just that guy and that kid and then Brian, so who do you think kooksy got the story from? Cooksey spoke to protect the individuals reputations, both Hayden and Brennan's. His (Cooksey's) appetite here - I perceived - was in the arena of the AMA's rules to discourage 'cheating by machinery'. Brennan, has simply utilised them. It is what followed from his claim - which is the real story here. . . Should you need educating on the rules surrounding this claim - just go and watch Johnny Hoppers presentation on this incident. . Yes, I was waiting for this video... thanks. This all stinks. It appears that a huge effort was undertaken to intimidate the young rider, and make sure that motorcycle (especially the engine) NOT get released into the wild. Shame on everyone involved not doing this the correct way. Yamaha was probably terrified that their engine secrets would get out. Racing in all Motor Sports involves "Stretching" the Rules to gain a Competitive edge. It will never go away and the top teams will always prevail in the long run! Yep the bike was packed full of "Secrets" only Yamaha and Star Racing have access to. As a loyal follower to HRC racing, better them than Us! For them to fight this so hard obviously that bike was a real factory bike that they didn't want the technology to get out which is obvious when they told Brandon that he wouldn't be able to service that bike and this being amateur racing it's kinda bullshit that they gonna run a factory bike against bikes with bolt ons basically which is kinda messed up. If that wasn't a straight factory bike they wouldn't put up such a fight to keep that bike. They led him on mentioned motors and test rides and stuff knowing it won't happen. They bullied him and he lost his ride over it and basically everything for giving in to the pressure and now has nothing. A rule is a rule they never should have been able to talk him out of his claim the ama should have took the money impounded the bike and gave it to him period he got bullied period and now lost the bike he claimed and lost his ride he had it's total bull
The Jealous will come for the Deegans but they will still win. People cannot handle getting beat sure he has a factory bike he decimated everyone for a decade to get it. Cooksey was spouting allegations but claiming facts in comments. Everything seemed a bit stretched from his video. He should have had Comments from both sides before his clickbait video
I might get ate up in the comments for saying this but I just realized this today, for years Brian has kept all of Haidens championship bikes from lorettas, this is a known fact from 65s,85s, superminis, and even Brian’s x games bikes are kept and put up for display in the future, this might not have anything to do with cheating or parts on the bike because this is haidens last year Brian might have already arranged to buy that bike from star to keep for displaying with haidens other championship bikes, It’s well known Brian keeps his memorabilia and knowing this is haidens last year at the ranch that bike might be priceless in Brian’s eyes and he was going to do what he had to to get the bike for his family to have, this isn’t confirmed but I’m 99% sure this is getting blown out of proportion and this is actually what happened at the ranch. Just think about Brian and all his accomplishments and how he keeps everything, we have all been watching him do this after Loretta’s year after year after year
The damage is done already, they should have went through with the claim and bought the bike. I have no doubt they were paid off or sponsorship threatened to rescind the claim. Why else would you have a change of heart? They had to convince them in some way. The claim should be anonymous so there is no one to talk to before the bike is handed over.
I don’t see it as cheating…Star just didn’t pay attention to the rules. Deegan can ride whatever bike he wants just be aware the bike may be claimed. Star should’ve turned over the bike and built a new one. Star rolled the dice and lost based on the rules. If you don’t want the possibility of the bike being claimed don’t ride it. Deegan doesn’t need a full factory bike to win. This is a Star racing issue not a Deegan issue.
I'm sorry, but the facts I heard was completely different (180 degrees the other way) and hence the speculations of "why" this kid wanted his bike as possibly payback.? IDK? Can anyone that was at the Regionals validate this?

@@gwagenadventure727 so making them buyable to other armature racers is going to help? Racers that put in the time, money, and effort to develop a platform dont want to just give that info up to others. Are any of these parts worth $50k-$70k if you melt them down. Melt down the whole bike. What’s it worth by the lb. The value is in the knowledge which can be obtained by someone that buys the bike. I dont know about these rules and claiming a bike. No experience there but I dont like people that use intimidation or think they arent subject to the rules because of who they are. If the rules are a problem, fix them. If you dont want to lose your secret squirrel parts, dont use them at an amateur race.

If the accounts of isolation and intimidation of Brennen Schofield are accurate then Brian Deegan and Tim Cotter ought to be sanctioned in a serious way by the AMA. If Yamaha actually threatened a dealer's franchise that is disgusting. Yamaha should be seriously sanctioned by the AMA. If the AMA doesn't investigate this and protect its rules integrity and future bike claimers I'll be very disappointed.
it's meant to prevent people from putting too much money into the bikes to keep the field even. "Go a head and spend $100,000 on a factorybike at LL...and get it taken- legally, by the rules".
I was standing right there and would of handed over $18,000 so fast I may have broken my arm. I didn't know you could do that! yes, I think they are a$$ holes.#fact
Claim it!! If it’s in the rules claim it! The rule is there to keep the price of the race bikes even! So some team does not have a 30-100k bike and a un fair advantage! Deegan will cry and grab a different 100k bike!
A good way to keep pro teams far from non pro races, it makes no sense to give a kid a factory or trick bike, if he is good go out and win the Race on a tuned stock bike. If you Race a factory bike i Will buy it, sounds fare.
Back in the mid 70s this same situation happened to Yamaha, they had the water cooled YZ 125 (Everybody else were on air cooled bikes) and somebody claimed it at a National. Can't remember how Yamaha got out of it but they would not bring those bikes back to the USA, they kept them in Europe.
I don’t think they did get out it, I think the bike did get purchased not even by a racer, can’t remember the details but it was controversial think Honda had a similar situation a few years later also not much longer after that incident Tripes or Marty Smiths then the AMA changed the rules for pro motocross. Many people are missing the point here, unlike that situation, here this is supposed to be an amateur event, but for years now it been 2 classes, those with and those without, people have manipulated cheated for years and it’s the dark side of the sport that’s been legitimatised by the factory teams and big influences in the sport and around this event, the rules are there to try and protect the sport and the kids are are participating, I have no sympathy for adults competing they risk a and on t there own decisions but as JNH points out this event is supposed to be for minors and is supposed to be amateur. The kids aren’t in the wrong there the adults are. It’s clear, the only thing murky is what’s not transparent, if it’s not transparent on both sides of the coin then shit has gone down, lack of transparency is hiding something, end of….
That's why they used to have a stock and modified class run what you brung in the modified class and stock speaks it's self it's that simple.. 1986 I was in the 250b class.. was the top guy in my state went to the Nationals at Loretta Lynn's and a couple riders one I will say that was racing for Kawasaki Lowell Thompson.. my mom overheard his mom say the Kawasaki was paying him to win the national but he got disqualified. But during practice I was turning just as fast lap times as him on my personally done modified bike.. I did just a little motor work pulled all three hole shots so it's not all about the power it's a lot the rider I would never claim anybody's bike I think it's stupid
They should tear it down an inspect it all to make sure its legal.. Rules are rules a claim is a claim Brian had no reason to get involved imo and that will hurt imo.. Let the claimer have the bike an walk away with a smile.. Let it be .. that's the way a claim works... If you run any particular event you know the rules before you unload your race bike. If you dont like the rules dont run the series simple as that.. I dont feel the claimer did anything wrong. If anything he opened all team's eyes.. The claimer rule is put into place to keep the sport comepetive$$ so people with large cash cant dominate etc. I feel this is good for the sport keeps teams thinking twice about cheating as we know many are always riding all the lines on rules.. Deagans bike is nicer then all teams we all know this and this happening is a good thing imo..
@JohnnyHopper, tell me I’m wrong but the class that the Bike was for was not a stock Class it was anything goes, Just have to have the correct displacement…So this is really about Yamaha not wanting to give up a factory bike? Wasn’t the original rule made so you could check a bike for cheating with larger displacement?
It’s the champs bike everybody should have known he wanted to keep it, the respectable way would be approach the deegans and ask if they want to part with it instead of doing what he did just to tear it down to sell as deegans bike for money
Since they stopped uploading mX to youtube, i haven't been able to watch the rest of the season. Any ideas how i can get the rest of the season without spoilers?
Deegans one of the best racers of his generation. Flat out the kids fast weather on a stock bike or fully specced out 🌟 race bike. However he’s dirty, he’s a spoiled brat and I wouldn’t put cheating past him
I think the kids should get the bike for 18 grand no questions asked. It’s in the rule book. Yamaha continues to do this shit I’ll sell my bike. I will not support Yamaha in this bullshit
Deegan are 100% at fault here. They have colluded with Star Yamaha since day one. They are supposed to be racing amateur race. And now it's been EXPOSED They Deegan has been racing a fully factory bike this whole time. THATS CHEATING! He should Be disqualified for any future races. And any past race wins taken away. AMA Needs to step in here and do the right thing!!
Rumor, speculation, and gossip. Cooksey wasn't at Loretta's. Pulp wasn't there. Johnny you weren't either. I was there. Never heard a word about it until yesterday. Doubt there was a crowd of people harassing their campsite. They have sheriff's deputies all over the place and shut down the nonsense after 10:30 unless you are going to or from the beer tent which is not near the campsites. The kid and his dad had planned on claiming the bike before they every got to Hurricane Mills. Otherwise, why would they have thousands of dollars in cash on hand? IF he really planned on doing this for a lame RUclips channel vid - how stupid is that! He has blackballed himself in the moto world and if he had aspirations of making anything serious out of moto - that's over now! Douche move in my opinion.
If even parts of this story is true that is messed up what they did to the kid. It also basically confirms that the Star bike obviously has parts in it they don't want getting out
Haiden is a true talent Brian is a Bell end to the highest order spent his life going against the rules /regs big company policies once the $ start rolling in and he has his gouch tickled all of a sudden he's on the gravy train I can't stand him he's bad for the sport and i doubt it will be the last we hear from him I hope HD makes it to the top without his gruff nutt Dad And for you americans who don't know what a gruff nut is its one of those balls of $hit that remain on your butt
Factory bike, non factory mod bike, it doesn’t really matter much if you don’t have the capabilities of riding it to its potential. Take Haiden for example, Bryan in one of his past videos has said that they have had to make changes to the suspension as Haiden progressed on the bike. The fast he gets the stiffer it has to be. I’d you take a average rider and put him on a factory bike, you will have just that a average rider on a factory bike, and the results will be the same or even worse then if said rider was on a non factory bike.
YEP... sad day for STAR YAMMEE... and the fact that MR D and the MX producer pulled a 17 year old kid into a room BY HIMSELF and threatened him is fucking shameful at best.
A few issues with all this, one the bike belongs to Yamaha, so Brian had no right to front Brennan or anyone else for that matter, the whole thing stinks, star obviously had things on the bike that are not suppose to be on it, namely the ecu, at the end of the day now Star Yamaha have damaged there own brand and so has Brian Deegan.
Deegan and Brennan knocked each other to the ground at Southwick....Someone was butthurt and decided to claim the bike at LL, and stir shit on the internet
I think cooksey is just trying to get likes and subs.his channel was failing and needed a boost.this is all allegedly and cooksey said he talked to both sides yet has not talked to Deegan nor the kid that did the so called claim of the bike it's all second and third hand info.
I would if you knew the official that did it!!! People have long said he is a d*ck to triple digit guys in the pros and screams and threatens them! Truly a concerning individual that has let a little bit of power go to his head! Many Pro riders would agree w/ me!
There is so much shady crap going on here it's almost impossible to unpack it all. First off, the entire MX community pretty much has been waiting to watch Haiden compete at Lorettas this year, his last before the pros. The crowds that he draws bring business to the venue, to the manufacturer to the merchandisers, the concessions, etc. So what in the name of hell did everyone think he was going to show up and ride? He's a Star Racing Yamaha factory rider. Of course he's going to ride a race prepped bike and of course they are going to tune the ECU the way they do it along with the motor, forks, the "works". No one said a word about it before the weekend started. And beyond that, it has nothing to do with Haiden anyway. He's the rider. He throws his leg over whatever they tell him to. He didn't program it or build it. And he's a kid. Any responsibility for any accusations HAVE to fall on Star Racing Yamaha. Not even Brian Deegan should take any crap. He wants his kid on a great bike. Who wouldn't? That's why they signed with SRY to begin with. Now, as far as Brennan Schofield, he shouldn't be taking any crap either. He didn't claim the bike. His family or team or whoever had that fat check claimed it, for whatever reason. The kid has 2300 followers. He sure didn't use his RUclips money. So there's another group of adults who should be taking the heat on the other side of this thing. And the truth is, they shouldn't be taking any heat. It's in the rule book. It's a claiming race. Just the sheer value of the bike as the last one Haiden Deegan rode as an amateur is more than worth what they would pay for it. There's so much upside to owning that bike I'm surprised factory rides don't get claimed every single year. Why wouldn't you claim it? Shoot, if I could have I'd a claimed the damn thing, put it on a stand in my living room and called it a day.In the end it's grown men, mainly the promoter, acting like an idiot and turning a great experience into a sour one for all involved. Just follow the rules dude. It's not that hard.
If Brian knew it was a cheater bike then the kid knows because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Heck you telling me he couldn’t tell just from riding it something was drastically different. If true, lifetime ban from the sport and Degans/Star take their lumps like adults. We are all sick of cheating politicians, lying lawyers and the BS artists out there. These freaks have infiltrated every facet of our existence. I watch MX to bring back my younger days of racing for pleasure. Now all this crap. When is enough enough.
Big money has F'd up every spot. Back in the day it was about winning. It was about the sport (in every spot) now it's all about the $$$$. It sucks but it is what it is.
So if the bike wasn’t factory then giving double the money to whoever would’ve not been a problem they would’ve made out almost enough to buy two bikes that tells me and every sane person it was factory and news flash there hopper he used his own money to buy it watch his interview and then all of your alleged sayings will be negated the Dee hand and star Yamaha got caught and they didn’t own up to it shame on star Yamaha and Deagons but not so much Deagons cuz it probably isn’t even their bike but shame on them for runnin factory shit at an amateur race like the ranch
I agree with everything you're saying ! But how is it cheating if you have better parts ? I remember back in the day kids had dmc bikes and it wasn't cheating
Because anybody could buy a dmc bike if they had the money. Not true of a star Yamaha. Plus the only dmc bike I can even think of that was trick enough to be banned at any race was at Ponca....Eddie Hicks' 84 YZ80. I think he rode it at Loretta that year though. Was deemed to valuable to race at Ponca however. They had a 12 or 15k max value allowed i think and whatever they set it at, his dmc bike exceeded it. If I remember right.

Just my .02
I see a lawsuit happening if they locked the boy in a room to question him without a guardian.
Lawsuit might be why they aren’t talking
If they locked a minor in a room without consent from their legal guardian (or attorney), that is a big, big, big no-no.
My thoughts exactly. Yamaha aslo put the hush on the final LL videos out of the degan camp. May be some litigation coming.
Couldn’t agree more
Once the bike is claimed, it no longer belongs to the original owner.
@@2strokin70 kid who claimed it has a motor guy so stock? Motor guy put the money up not the kid.
the rich kids can go and get bikes when the kids that work their ass off getting sponsors for bikes and getting a bike for free get their bikes taken from them and then they have to rely on sponsors or their parents to buy another bike and do the same exact thing to it, putting time into the frame, ecu, suspension dialing, weight loss secrets that take time. all these factors that they have that the Lorettas officials don’t think about.
All I can do is just laugh and smile. Deegan is coming in like a wrecking ball. Smoking everyone out there. And here comes the Haters.

You People are too gullible to believe two kids that their Dad had to step forward and drop the claim.
Claiming has been around in almost all motorsports for DECADES. The fact that he couldn't get the bike is wrong, IMHO.
Surely.
With Hayden being a minor his dad will always be involved until he is 18 at least.
Brennan earned the money himself. His parents did not pay for the claim.
the AMA let guys that do take out moves at the pro level continue to race its been going on since the 90s and they only fine them peddly amounts or take away a point its a black eye to the sport and how someone could cheat on purpose is really irritating race with integrity noone rides full throttle you dont need a works bike you just need a works brain
Every time a news story starts with the word “allegedly “ , I’m bailing out, and I am pretty positive it’s BS.

Simple.
Per Schofield he dropped claim cause his Yamaha sponsor told him to.

I hopw Cooksey gets sued by Star Yamaha
I unsubd when he got into politics... I'm here for moto not your ridiculous politics
This is a complete load of bullshit!
A rule is a rule....! The kid worked he’s ass off to pay for the bike and ended up with nothing! The Deegans! along with Star Yamaha! should be completely ashamed of themselves!!!
As the god ol saying goes... never being a knife to a gun fight! Bring a factory bike to an armature race with a rule .. Expect to loose it! The kid should have went home with the bike he paid for!
if the other guy's story was true I think it would have been much bigger and came out faster and not just from 1 person, I mean it happened at loretta's so i feel like it should have come out much faster than 4 days after and not just from 1 person who wasn't even there at Loretta's, And now we hear the story from Brian and several people who were at Loretta's and their story matches each other while the other guy who wasn't even there at Loretta's tells a completely different story.
Yep and Hunters lab top is disinformation! and Trump is a Manchurian ....ect ect... Star racing is no different than the MOB left and the LIBTARDS in Congress!.. You forget quickly, that if you are honest, then all of the media and all the other Upper class will disown you or destroy you. Just look at What is happening to the Trump family!
I agree! All bullshit for clout
@@nickfay204 there is another motocross/supercross guy who briefly mentioned it and he was there. He has a channel too. Just said bike claiming drama and left it at that.
@@nickfay204 You think trashing the Deegans will get you clout? Cooksy and Hopper couldn't even get press passes before this and are blackballed in the industry. All the meetings were in secret so no one knew about that. The harassing by Deegan dicksuckers should be on video somewhere if it happened, though. Unless it's covered in the media ( which is all the same person), no one will know about it unless they were there or were told by someone who was. This is an irrelevant sport with irrelevant "stars" so no one is selling footage to TMZ. At best it's on some nobody's Facebook or Instagram. None of it really matters anyway, because Deegan will go Pro and the other kid will disappear so it will be forgotten like Craig getting caught using PEDs.
According to reports, they swapped the engine out for the next day's race. Does that not sound like they were hiding something (aka cheating). There is a LOT of money and expectations on the line here. I really don't like this type of strong-arming.
Once again it’s all alleged. Nothing has been proven so it’s not that deep

But truthfully Haden is destined to become the Face of MX sports in the following years and Thanks to his Family he will be Very Successful at it. Hayden deserves everything that he's given! Good luck to him when he turns PRO Next Year, cause everybody in the top teams has a "Works" Bike and it will come down to rider talent which he seems to have!
You have to EARN your spot kids. However the kid making the claim was well within the rules and the bike should have been his. Sounds like they got a bit bullyish and the fact they have a kid in a room making threats to his ability to race or use a particular bike in the future is crappy. It is shady he caught Yamaha with their pants down and they threatened to not supply bikes to the kid. Sad. Stop putting 50k bikes in an amateur race!

They should be banned for not giving up the bike without bullying garbage simple as that. They wanna harass people is a joke no way would I put up with that at all if they got all this money they can afford to give the bike up simple as that but nope... people should all go to the races and harass these star Yamaha and deegan punks like they do everyone else. Defemation? The kid tried to claim the bike and doesn't have the bike. Deegan should have been dq'd and banned for a year according to the ama rules.
@@therawlifefamily yeah but how does it work for kids that don’t own the bike? Is there a rule that they can’t race a bike that they don’t own? Idk anything about this. I can see how the rule applies to people who own their bikes.
@@oh_look_bananas Since star "allegedly" broke the rules, then suspend them and any of their products from competition for a year.
@@therawlifefamily exactly. It's as simple as someone claiming the bike, ama locks it up and watches it until any races are left on it and then the new owner gets the bike. The person claiming the bike doesn't have to give ANY excuse or reason why they're doing so. The simple fact that he doesn't have the bike and dropped the claim tells you all you need to know.
Cooksey was spouting allegations but claiming facts in comments. Everything seemed a bit stretched from his video. He should have had Comments from both sides before his clickbait video
100% cookie media is a joke lol
Just think about Brian and all his accomplishments and how he keeps everything, we have all been watching him do this after Loretta’s year after year after year
I like your view on this.
Exactly......anonyomous~
the ole greased stairs onto the concrete routine
LOL, Deegan could have beaten those guys on a super mini..
Bottom line is don't ride a Factory Bike In an Amateur Race.
I know your reporting 4th hand. But the cooksey story sounds like a reach.
Teach yamaha a lesson. They shouldn't have that much money into a race that has a claim rule.
oh Brennen Schofield is that dude who drove right into Haiden at the wick
I'm sorry, but the facts I heard was completely different (180 degrees the other way) and hence the speculations of "why" this kid wanted his bike as possibly payback.? IDK? Can anyone that was at the Regionals validate this?

U don't think Brian did anything wrong??? Sounds like your doing wrong !!! Looks like Brian and star and the whole bunch can do and say as they please. 38 should be fined and points or title taken away. Make everyone think twice about trying to do this shit ever again. Whole thing is wrong!
They got caught. Own it. Period.
the deegans and star yamaha aparently think the rules don't apply to them.
Yamaha lacks honor
If I’m not mistaken it’s a mod class so no rules were broken but you are exactly right Johnny they are just contract riders not owner of any of it!
Cooky dook media is a joke. He's trying to get views on from a 16yr old
How on earth can you claim somebody's bike
it's meant to prevent people from putting too much money into the bikes to keep the field even. "Go a head and spend $100,000 on a factorybike at LL...and get it taken- legally, by the rules".
Plain and simple, you need to follow the written rules.
Grips 3k. Seat 4.6k

Honda,Suzuki and the other manufacturers also claimed the bike. They drew numbers out of a hat and Yamaha got the bike back.
The claim rule is problematic. It needs to go. There has to be a better way to level the playing the field.

If even parts of this story is true that is messed up what they did to the kid. It also basically confirms that the Star bike obviously has parts in it they don't want getting out
If so it would be in a super password protected ecu! Lol ! I think the whole rule sucks, its no fair to the manufacturer! Bullshit
Haiden is a true talent Brian is a Bell end to the highest order spent his life going against the rules /regs big company policies once the $ start rolling in and he has his gouch tickled all of a sudden he's on the gravy train I can't stand him he's bad for the sport and i doubt it will be the last we hear from him I hope HD makes it to the top without his gruff nutt Dad
And for you americans who don't know what a gruff nut is its one of those balls of $hit that remain on your butt
*dingleberry?
Factory bike, non factory mod bike, it doesn’t really matter much if you don’t have the capabilities of riding it to its potential. Take Haiden for example, Bryan in one of his past videos has said that they have had to make changes to the suspension as Haiden progressed on the bike. The fast he gets the stiffer it has to be. I’d you take a average rider and put him on a factory bike, you will have just that a average rider on a factory bike, and the results will be the same or even worse then if said rider was on a non factory bike.
Do you think factorys bring guys up to early?
Alleged facts? Do those words even belong together? Haha 🤣. Anyway, It was claimed by them for me. The Star bike is in my garage now.

Everyone always says I think you should go about the rule book until it happens to them
A few issues with all this, one the bike belongs to Yamaha, so Brian had no right to front Brennan or anyone else for that matter, the whole thing stinks, star obviously had things on the bike that are not suppose to be on it, namely the ecu, at the end of the day now Star Yamaha have damaged there own brand and so has Brian Deegan.
Deegan and Brennan knocked each other to the ground at Southwick....Someone was butthurt and decided to claim the bike at LL, and stir shit on the internet
Hopper, I think your thumb nail should be spelt “Too big” 😂.

I think cooksey is just trying to get likes and subs.his channel was failing and needed a boost.this is all allegedly and cooksey said he talked to both sides yet has not talked to Deegan nor the kid that did the so called claim of the bike it's all second and third hand info.
I don't believe for 1 minute that the kid was cornered in a room by himself with a bully and Brian
I would if you knew the official that did it!!! People have long said he is a d*ck to triple digit guys in the pros and screams and threatens them! Truly a concerning individual that has let a little bit of power go to his head! Many Pro riders would agree w/ me!
Johnny, you may want to watch the interview with this kid and Tyler Livesay.
It sucks but it is what it is.
thats exactly why the sport isnt as big as it used to be.
Degas had to give the kid $5k
I would've claimed the bike
