Thanks! Good go hear you like them! :)
Anton Post, you always have a wonderful presentation and of course I love your accent. Thank you for the details you have shared here and in all of your videos. I am inspired!
Hi Larie thank you very much for the compliments! I do all video recordings on the fly so sometimes I have to think about the right word haha... Hope the video helps you in any way :)
Amazing tank! All your videos are so helpful!!! Keep them up!!!
Hi Carlos good to hear that you find them helpful!
I love it. Good for you man! I have also learned a lot about having to have everything on a switch off and on button!
Thanks, good to hear the video was useful for you!
Another great video of your Tank I enjoy watching your videos keep them comeing
Thanks a lot! Will do!
Man, ur tank is a 15/10 for me. One of the best looking tanks I’ve seen
Haha thank you! :-)
Beautiful Tannk ! thanks for sharing with us !.
Thank you Esteban!
awsome tank you have there ....!!! keep these awsome videos man 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Danney, appreciated!
Very nice and clean setup I am new to this hobby so I was looking at these red sea tanks for when I am ready to step up to a finer option, I started off with a Fluval Roma 240 liter with my current setup I use canister filters two of them to do different jobs and a hang on back skimmer this is okay for me to have such a busy looking tank It is still really nice but when I want a cleaner look I want a red sea aquarium. This is an excellent video and presentation of what you can do with your custom equipment very nice! Awesome ideas to put in peoples heads! I don't need a chiller so I can do lots with that space like add more water for an ATO so I can go longer between fills things like that. I love this setup.
Thanks for your comments! good luck with your Fluval and yeah if you can spare the time and money, an upgrade to a Reefer is definitely worth it!
Congrats !! awesome tank.
Just sub'd, loving your system, keep the videos coming!
Thanks for subscribing, I did the same! Will do :)
Wow.... very nice system!!
Bedankt voor deze leerzame video !
very nice job--keep them coming
Thanks Andy!
Very nice clean system.
great review!
i just can't seem to get the cables organized in the back sadly lol.
the gyres perform SOOOO much better after you clean them out, which i do once every 2 months. even without much noticeable crap on it, my gyres literally blew my sand bed away at the same power setting after cleaning.
Haha organizing cables is hell! Yeah I agree the Gyre does need occasional cleansing to keep the flow good. Although I noticed that the XF250 is a lot better than the XF150 in that regard, clogs up a lot less!
Great set up and reef , I have Red sea E-260 found dialing in the gate value and managing return Pump power difficult. Yep you need to trickle into emergency drain in order to be stable for Ato. Is this your theory also spoken to Red sea they said no trickle 2cm below but impossible tried fro 3 days.
Great Video
Great video buddy
Thank you very much!
Looks great. Watch out for the rusting clamp on your return pump. :)
Thanks for notifying me about that. It's above the water but still good to replace one of these days! Cheers!
Nice video and great review :)
Thank you very much Cesca!
Wow love ur tank...
I would love to see a video of your sump set up now!
It hasn't changed much since then, actually it's pretty much the same!
your accent is awesome!
Looking great! Subbed.
Thank you very much, welcome to my channel! I have subbed you as well and since your channel looks really nice I have also added it to the "recommended" section on my channel!
Dutch Reefer Sweet! Appreciate that.
That review of your light needs to come out ASAP!! :)
Haha you can expect it within a week, most likely next weekend :)
Dutch Reefer still waiting 😁😁
Nick tomorrow, and that's a promise! :D
Great tank! Where did you get the "crab catchers" that you used to replace the Red Sea filter socks?
Thank you Elias :) if you search for "crud catcher" together with "littleocean" on Google it's on the top of the results!
Love your setup! Is it possible for you to tell me the dimensions of the right side of the cabinet? I'm thinking of setting an aquarium like urs and would like to include a wc mixing station inside it!
Thanks Sean! if I remember correctly it was around 49cm in width, height I don't remember!
You say you use birth rowaphos and Red Sea Nopox in your system, but it states on the instruction for Nopox that you should not use both together?
Love you tank and videos by the way. I live in the UK.
Thank you Dutch!!! Filling my tank now. It’s set up in the living room and excited. As for the UV. My research shows a 25 watt with about 1000 gph. Any slower and it risks killing the coral food. But the chiller you have has a tight flow band of 106 to 211 gph. My question is do you split your flows to the chiller and UV? As always. Thank you for your time and help!
You're welcome! I do split my flow to the chiller, UV and an outlet into the big sump part to create some more flow, which works just fine. Not really sure how tight these boundaries are though, everything is working fine withyout paying much attention to the actual flowrate.
@@DutchReefer what UV do you have>!?! I am having a hard time finding one like that which will fit in my reefer350 sump space. my Pentair 18w is too big!!
@@joaquine9373 Hmm I have a JBL Aquacristal which is HUGE. You could try looking into the Aqua Medic Helix? 11w
you only have the one Maxspect pump? your running random mode all the time? What percent are you running in the power for the pump? I have a Red Sea 425 XL and just ordered the XF250 for my tank. thanks for your time and effort! two thumbs up!
Yes indeed, it's on alternating gyre mode +80 to -80
Looking great as also Anton! How would you compare the return DC to the DCS? =)
They are somewhat the same. I can't really tell the difference because they are both quite noisy, as are most return pumps.
hi dutch reefer love your tank and videos I have the maxspect gyre xf250 and have it on the same settings as you in my aqua evolution 5ft tank but it seems a bit too powerful it might be because I cleaned it, I want to ask about the loc line can you tell me what you bought to do yours as I want to have 2 outlets
Thanks! Yeah it's pretty darn powerful indeed! I think you can buy them anywhere online or order them at your LFS, and indeed having 2 outlets rules!
Looks amazing! Have you ever thought about fragging corals and sending them in the mail to other RUclips reefers ?
Thanks Brandon! I have sent some zoa frags across before but it's such a hassle to ship live coral :(
Inspiring tank! How often and % water changes?
Thanks! Only when I feel like it, like 10% every month :)
Hey DR... May I ask what kind of brand of UV filter your using ? I have a 55w UV filter from Resun, but the in and out are on opposite sides and yours is easier since they both on the same side... it was also a long trip to find the right tubes and parts and eventually I used TEC7 and handywork to make it run :)
Hey yes of course it's a JBL AquaCristal UV-C 36W and it's super easy to use :)
I have a few questions. I see you are using ATI Essentials with a Dosing Pump. What size product do you use? What is the amount of dose of each do you do and where does your dosing go? Into the Sump or Tank? Also I am using 2 Heaters on my 525 XL because I cannot afford a Chiller right now. Where is the best place to put the Heaters. The Sump or Tank? When Using a ATO System do I salt my Resevoir Water or use Unsalted RO Water? I appreciate all the Help
Hi Cary, yeah actually I stopped using ATI Essentials and went back to just Balling Classic. I'm mixing it in 5L jerrycans and adding it to the sump area where the skimmer is so it quickly dissolves into the water, about 100ml a day from each jerrycan. Heaters go in the sump or in the overflow box, whichever you prefer. Please use unsalted RO water for ATO, because the water that you need to add doesn't need to contain salt since salt doesn't evaporate. Good luck!
Hi Anton,
Just wondering why did you remove your bio pellet reactor? Is it ok without it?
Thanks
Hi Hakan, I removed it because it was causing too much hassle, had to clean it a lot and didn't see big improvements. So running fine without it now!
I absolutely love everything about your system but I have one question for you. Do you do water change?
Thank you! I do occasionally change some water (30-40L) but not on a regular basis though
thanks for your reply
Merveilleux
Nice colors, what are the bulbs ? en led settings ?
The bulbs are four ATI Coral Plus bulbs, light settings here: i.imgur.com/ShMkNfY.png
Dutch Reefer, Hello! I am currently shopping for a new DC return pump for my 525 XL and would like to know what you would buy today if you needed a replacement? Thank you!
Ha Larie! I would seriously consider the new Maxspect Turbine Duo 9 or the Aqua Medic DC Runner 9.2
Hey! Nice Tank set up. I got one and I can’t find a return y hose that fits. Would you mind sharing the link where you got yours?
I only find it in inches and the tank tubes are metric. :-)
Thanks! The one I have is a standard loc-line (that's the brand) and I have made it a snug fit using some teflon tape!
Dutch Reefer thank you so much. That was helpful. I will do the same!
Very well done video. I just purchased an XL525 deluxe. Will pick it up in a day. I want to set it up proper and take my time. I believe I will use the same equipment as you. If you can list specifics on each item, model that would be helpful. Thank you
Hi Ryan, equipment is in the description of each video! I changed my skimmer today though to an Octo Regal 150-S because the vertex pump broke down
Je hebt je naam veranderd. ;) Nice video again.
That's correct! I have decided to decouple my RUclips account from my Google account for privacy reasons. I does apppear that all comments are gone at the moment, I hope they come back...
Nice Video!
Could you please give me the name of the black and white fish, which is always swimming on the ground?
Hi Alex, sure that's a Spotted Drum, Equetus Punctatus!
Where can I buy the plastic filter cups instead of the Sox?
You can buy them here: www.littleocean.co.uk/shop/crud-catcher-high-flow.html
Hey! Thanks for the upload. I also have the 525, would you say the chiller TK-500 is enough or would you recommend to go for the TK-1000? thanks
Hi Nicolas! It will be enough but the TK1000 will cool it a lot faster and more efficiently. I'd say go for the 1000 if you can and otherwise the 500 will suffice
@@DutchReefer wondering, how long it takes you to reduce the temp like 0.5 or 1 degree? how big the flow you use? i found my TK500 is a bit too small for 1.2m tank.
@@lolNololshittalk Depending on the heat outside it will take about an hour to cool down. Make sure the cooler gets enough fresh (cool) air and that the hot air can escape your room
@@DutchReefer room temp about 30 degrees and setup 26.5 hyp 0.5 takes about slightly more than an hour. U still using ur tk500?How much flow you use i use a jebao dcp5000 and about 56%
@@lolNololshittalk Yeah that will take a bit longer! I have upgraded to a TK2000 on my new 1200L tank, so upgraded both tank and chiller. Flow should be much lower than that by the way! Like you could fill a cup in 5 seconds, that much :)
Nice ^^ How did you fix the DJ' switch? I'll receive mine in 6 days :-)
Thanks! It fits very tightly, you can just use a few small screws and a piece of wood to get it in
Thank you ! I'm from Belgium so I think we are neighbours ;-)
@almu2min... what exactly is the name of this DJ switch? I have tried to locate it but I can't seem to find this exact one. Did you get the exact one in the video or something like it?
May i ask, what is the name of the long top fin fish there you got?
Yeah sure, that's a Spotted Drum (Equetus Punctatus)!
Hello Dutsch Reefer What indoor measure has your cabinet inside the height wanted to install a skimmer Nyos Quantum 220 has a height of 60.5 cm fits in the filter sump in the cabinet?
Best regards Jürgen
Hi Jürgen, that will easily fit into the cabinet! Cheers
Thanks for your quick reply. Greetings Jürgen
Just one quick question, ill start dosing soon, will be using the red sea calcium , alk, and mg. Is it okay if i dose all 3 in the same spot in my sump.
Thanks
Yes that will work just fine, as long as you don't dose them at exactly the same time, and there should be some flow where you dose. Since Alk and Ca tend to cause a reaction, you don't want them to mix :)
Dutch Reefer so lets say theres in hour in between each alk and calcium dose, will this be fine. And also what about the mg, can i dose at the same time as either alk or ca
Yeah that will be just fine! It's fine to dose MG ag the same time as ALK/CA but I always keep some time in between, also 1 hour like you mentioned for each mix
Dutch Reefer okay, thanks, really appreciate you taking some time off to reply.
Nice video! what is the name of the white fish?
Thanks! That's a Valiencienna Sexguttata :)
Hi! Is the system loud for a bedroom? Thanks
Yes Maru, I wouldn't place it in my bedroom! My girlfriend would kill me haha!
Can you give me the name of the white fish that cleans the sand?
Nice set up
Thanks
It's called a Valencienna Sexguttata
M.F. Recon thanks
Nice tank!!! Just wondoring how much time you need to spend weekly... way back years ago I had one for 4 years. Very nice to have one .. but now I am just reviewing and try to catch up on latest infos... or how about holidays etc. just leaving the tank alone? Is that possible without any help? Thanks & Subbed!
Thanks! I spend about 15-30min a day on it, in the weekends when cleaning and stuff probably one hour per day average. When I'm going on a holiday either my mom or dad is looking out for it, they know the basics :)
Could you give me the name of the Dj switch please. Or a link?
Thanks lots.
Hi Ian! Sorry for the late reply, that's a Showtek DJ Switch!
Does your chiller overheat?
No not really, it can release the heat on the back of the tank
is there a link for the crud catchers as you call them please ?
yes ofc :) www.littleocean.co.uk/shop/index.php?seo_path=crud-catcher-high-flow
thank you
How did you mount your power switch box?
Using screws :-)
@@DutchReefer to the top of the cabinet? Or sides. I don't want to compromise the structure of the cabinent.
is the TK500 chiller noisy ?
It's not VERY noisy but you definitely hear it when it's running
Super Like!!!!
What size and brand of your sand
I'm using a mix of Caribsea Aragalive (1-2mm), ATI Fiji White (1-2mm) and Aqua Medic Bali sand (2-3mm)
what make . brand of UV light do you have ????
A JBL Pro Crystal UV-c 36W
thank you you like it would you recommend it for me ???
Yeah sure why not :) it's a decent UV-c, although it really doesn't matter which one you buy :) but for a 525 a 36w unit is good!
Is he actually using zip ties for hole clampes
Yeah I did, works like a charm.. Although I haven't been doing that recently, I'm using actual clamps now (both plastic and metal ones)
Hi what UV are you using??
Hi Dan, I'm using a 36W JBL unit!
@@DutchReefer nice! Do you have it on a timer? Or just run it 24/7?
24/7 for the past three years!
what gobi is that?
What goby are you referring to?
Sleeper Blue Dot Goby
(Valenciennea sexguttata)
How long is the uv steriliser running. 24/7?
Yup 24/7!
4:08 dat lachje toen hij besefte wat hij zei😂
geen pallets meer(no pellets any more)
Nope I have decided not to use them anymore, didn't see much benefit from it..
tank looks flat you need to step up your light game
OK thanks for your feedback
Jesus you literally only have 1 level of filtration. That has to be the nastiest return chamber on earth. Why are you even using a sump? Step your game up
Thanks for your constructive feedback haha! Cheers 🥂
