Really love your tank setups & all the live stocks. Enjoy your channel very much, excellent commentary!!! I appreciate your experiences and the time to showing us the hardware you implemented & why. Your approach is very thoughtful, no frill and effective. Like nature when understood, complicated above but yet simple underneath. Well done, glad to be a subscriber.
Thank you! Good to hear you like the tank and my channel, thanks for the kind words!
This is a very helpful video. I appreciate that you take the time to identity the corals and fish.
Thanks Joshua, good to hear it helped you! I'll keep on making these kind of video's until there's nothing left to tell :)
Amazing setup! You have done a great job, thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you very much for the kind words!
Thank you for sharing your reef with us.
Man you've got one of the overall best reef tanks I've ever seen!
Thank you so much! :)
As always, a spectacular look at your display! I have purchased a 240 gal used aquarium so that I can have some of the large fish I really want. I plan to move a couple of my larger fish to that tank when it is up and running. This project will take me some time to clean and my husband to paint the stand for me. I really wanted the skimmer and Vectra L1 pump that came with it. Thank you for your video on the ATI dosing products as my aquarium seams to really be responding to it. Cheers!
Larie! Wow a 240 gal tank, that's something! Very curious to hear how that story develops :)... You're welcome, good to hear the ATI Essentials are treating your tank well, cheers!!
The video started and I physically gasped at the beauty... Love your tank!
Ha, great to hear!! :-D
Wow!! One of the most beautiful reefs I've seen. Just subbed for more!!!
Thank you so much Melanie! :-D welcome to the channel!
Beautiful tank - healthy fish and corals, great layout, nicely done!
Thanks a lot Andy! :-D
Just stumbled onto just stumbled onto your channel love your Tank bro! Good job! And Great video man! Keep these awesome vids coming!
Thyanks Alex, will do!!
Great stuff! My fox face ended up getting a takes for zoas. I couldn't figure out why they stopped opening up, but removing him ended up being the cure. Wonderfully challenging group of livestock which is a testament to your advanced reef-keeping skills!
Thanks! Ouch, that really sucks, once mine starts eating zoa's is the day that he will have to go haha! Yes they're not all common fish, which I really like as well :) thanks!
i just starting this hobby and i just curing rocks now
Yup.. Perfect tank! Beauty.
Well done ! a fantastic aquarium set up , this is only achievable from pure dedicaton and time .. Bravo !
Thank you very much Tas for the appreciation!
Beautiful tank! Also great video going through everything. I am surprised your blastos are not being stung by the bubble gum chalice.
Thanks! Yeah I was worried about that too, as a matter of fact I moved it to a different spot yesterday to prevent exactly that :)
That FTS looks amazing!
Thank you very much! :)
I love copper bands. Such a pretty fish and very friendly.
Yeah I agree, they are the best!
I thought they nip at corals
So beautiful !!!
Great video! Love the tank.
Thanks! :-)
Beautiful tank! Greetings from Puerto Rico
Thank you Hilario, greetings from Holland! :D
Love this tank
Really like you're tank and as amazing as the corals are the fish are equally nice.
Thanks Mike, good to hear you like them!
Such a beautiful reef tank 😍👌 it's by far one of the best reefs on RUclips! It's perfectly balanced throughout the whole tank, great work buddy 👍
Thank you very much Reef Guy! Thanks again for the kind words :)
Yes it's nice very good choice of corals
Your tank is awesome
Well done! Very nice Reeftank!
Thank you very much!
Great footage. Wow its a clear picture. I would like to see them at feeding time
Thanks, it's filmed with my Samsung Galaxy S8 so nothing very expensive. Will consider a new feeding video!
Nice clean lookin tank!
Great stuff keep doing the updates
Thanks Adrian, will do!
Love that copperband butterflyfish I'm getting one for my birthday to go in my 120 g reef
Yeah it's such an amazing fish with a wonderful character. Can definitely recommend it!
Very nice tank , thanks for sharing,
You're welcome, and thanks a lot!
Beautiful tank! I would like to see your plumbing/filter setup.
Thanks Andrew! Made a video about that as well, check out my channel, it's called Sump Review!
the fish that cleans the sand is so cute haha
Haha yeah I know right!
Nice video looks really nice 👍🏻
Thank you very much!
Great video....you mentioned the UV sterilizer....where do you run this in your sump...at the overflow with the protein skimmer or in the return chamber? I am assuming it is on it's own pump just recirculating...I have one coming for Christmas thx
Hi James, it's attached to a Jebao DCS3000 together with the chiller (hard plumbed) and it both takes water from the most left part of the sump, and also puts it back there. You can see in my Sump video that I uploaded a while back!
Hi is was wondering which coral species on 4.12 above the pincet fish is. The kind of red purple round coral
Beautiful.
Thank you Mike!
Great looking tank!!! 😀 I really like your tank and your channel.
What‘s the name of the bigger black and white coloured fish? Is it a Pareques acuminatus? What‘s your experience so far with this fish?
Great looking reef! New sub here, looking forward to seeing more from your channel!
Thanks Brian! Will keep updating the channel of course :)
Very nice. Your tank is very peaceful. I would love to see your filtration and know what you do to maintain your system.
Thank you Arrick! I actually released a whole video about my filtration a while back, check it out on my channel!
How many tanks have you had? I'm so envious looking at your tank... Can you make a video about maintenance and/or problems you've faced?
Hi Jeff this is my third one, i started with a 60L Nano, then switched to a 400L see-through tank and when we moved to a different village I bought the Reefer! i do have a video about my sump and about ATI essentials which cover the basic maintenance. Problems is a nice subject as well, I'll consider it!
I had a blue cheek goby, who was so beautiful and kept my sand so clean. Unfortunately he only lived for 18 months and I was told it was because there wasn't enough nourishment for him in store bought goods. I fed him flake, pellets and frozen mysis. Have you any advice on what to feed them please?
Aww that sucks! Mine also eats frozen mysis and krill, but also LOVES Masstick by Easyreefs
Love the GSP on the back wall. I know it spreads like crazy, so I don't want it on my rock. :-) Did you just glue a piece to the back wall?
Yeah it's great eh! Grows like a madman. Indeed just glued a seashell with GSP to the back and you know how it went from there haha!
Mooie update !
P.s gorgeous reef!
Do you add/dose anything to keep your goniopora's healthy? Fantastic collection, keep it up!
Hi Twan, not really, sometimes a little phytoplankton but only once/twice a week. They just seem to do well in my tank :)
Hello ! Very beautiful tank. I've just a question. Your UV sterilizer works 24/7 ? Thanks !
Thanks! Yup it's running 24/7/365, I replace the bulb every year!
I always love seeing your tank. What is the coral that's to the left of the purple goni?
Thank you James, good to hear! I think you mean the orange Acanthastrea Echinata?
Was referring to the pale green coral that almost looks like a plant.
your copperband butterfly is gorgeous! makes me want to get one, but i'm just a little worried that it will pick at my large clams =(
Yeah it's beautiful eh! Yeah I had a clam once, it did not end well...
Hey Dutch Reefer, your tank is amazing. My question to you is, I have a gyre 150 in a 150 gallon. How many inches do you have the Gyre placed from the water line in your tank?
Hi Charles! It's about 4 inches from the water line and it's aimed slightly upwards so it breaks the water line
Dutch Reefer I really like the water flow you have on your tank. Please be so kind to give me the exact setting of your gyre flow would be greatly appreciated. Awesome tank by the way!
Dutch Reefer I have the xf 250 gyre too. But how do you set forward 70% and reverse 30%. I tried the alternating gyre but it doesn't seem to create the same flow pattern as your.
👍
hey, great tank. how did you attach your GSP to the glass?
Thanks! I am using Seachem Reef Glue for that, works like a charm! After that it will automatically grow on the glass/coraline
what do you feed your fish to keep them all happy?
I feed them Mysis and Krill daily (frozen) and every week 1 or 2 times a bit of Masstick (by Easyreefs)
Gold head sleeper goby just got one last week.
They are really nice as well! Gobies rock!
Hi Dutch reefer what rock have you used in that beautiful tank?
Hi Andrew, that would be 90% Real Reef Rock and one ceramic pillar!
They told me the copper band aren’t reef safe how do you do it
Hi Carlos well you have a good chance that they are reef safe, I'd say it's a 50/50 chance. I just feed enough, so it won't need to try nipping on corals either.
I like your tank! Beautiful. Question about background. Is it a vinyl or black paint?
Thanks! It's standard black vinyl attached to the back :)
Looks great. I’m expecting my Redsea reefer XL to arrive tomorrow. In that case I’ll just put a black vinyl. It looks awesome.
Nice, good luck with it! The black vinyl should be fitted straight from the factory :)
Dutch Reefer that’s awesome. Unfortunately the official website does not have that information. Much appreciated for the heads up :)
Teymur Ayyubov I painted mine. Looks good.
Beautiful tank. How is the Jack-Knife? I heard they eat cuc.
Thanks! It's not a Jack Knife but a Spotted Drum. Haven't seen it touch any inverts so far, but it might as it grows larger..
What happen to your big green goniopora?
It's to the left :)
What camera do you use? Great quality!
Hi Aaron, I'm using my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S8 to shoot the videos. Pretty amazing quality right?!
Man, I have a Samsun S8 as well, and I feel like the macro shots are better than my point and shoot camera >.
What color spectrum do you use for recording? Looks like more whites and less blue?
Yeah somehow the camera is amazing in every sense when it comes to reef tanks! I am using the standard settings, haven't touched anything, everything is on Automatic :)
Nice! Btw, I love how you wove in crypto's in your last video. I'm currently HODLing Eth, REQ, GRC, GNT, LTC, SC, and QASH. It's a fun crazy world :D
Thank you! Yes I use the UV-c 24/7 and I replace the bulb once a year!
Great!
What type is your sand?
Hi John, thanks! It's a mix of CaribSea AragAlive and ATI Fiji White!
how do you write the fish that cleans the sand.tk
valenciennea sexguttata :)
How much time for this tank setup ?
Ha, a lot of time! It was running for a year when I shot this video in 2017
I'm a UK viewer
Cool! Welcome :)
Mooie bak! Love that fish with the big tail black and white ! You got a channel that talks about crypto coins etc ?
Thanks! Yes it's a lovely fish right, the Equetus Punctatus! Ha no only one video so far, did you like it?
Dutch Reefer yeah i did. Also kinda sticking my nose into it. A friend made over 50k with it. Into ada also verge is interesting.
Don't them sand sifting gobies eat all the life out of the live sand also what size is your Red Sea reefer thanks recently new sub you have a beautiful tank you're an inspiration to have a tank like yours. Peace Denver Colorado have a happy New Year
Sand which doesnt get sifted/stirred up once in a while also will pile up in detrimental bacteria because of detritus build up. Also "live sand" bacteria die off and dont get replaced if there is no movement or flow (like 1cm down in the sand).
O wow seeing this makes me sad. Old tank was such a breeze
cleen your sand and flow thsts how i do it
Yeah that's also possible, but I think it's a tedious job to clean the sand so I'm glad the Goby does it for me hah!
