Thank you so much for this video. After being out of the game for the last 18 years I decided to get back into film scoring (mostly for fun). A lot has changed in the last two decades as far as gear and I initially quit composing because I spent more time trying to get all my equipment to work right than I did creating. Your video helped me realize that things are so much better now and I purchased a Komplete Kontrol S88 less than an hour after watching this. Thanks for the inspiration 🥰
I had this same idea for a desk. But plunged for the Wavebone Headquarter instead for the Nord. Loving some of neat ideas for the computer set up. Looking to update mine soon! Pls keep us posted for updates.
If you’re going for a nice ergonomic chair for pretty inexpensive, staples has a Hyken chair that I’ve used for several years now and have been satisfied, especially for the price; under $200.
What a wonderful studio tour - and such a great story about how you created the Ikea Frankenstein table (which looks so beautiful and solid) from a friend and from Craigslist! Shows that you needn't always spend a fortune to find what you need. Thank you for showing us your set-up! One technical question - I didn't quite catch how you are able to slide the z-stand back and forth so easily. Does it have wheels? It looks like it sails right over your carpet too. Thanks again and continued success to you!
Somewhere in another universe I'm doing what you're doing now. Thank you for sharing your set-up giving me examples of how I might upgrade. I'm a fan of movie theme music so you have a new subscriber.
It's really beautiful !! I would love to see you setup for making all these instagram videos and the most important - your mixing and mastering process (or maybe you are sending your music to different audio engineers?) Great setup
hey there thank you for video..... what are the main essential sounds and plugins vsts that you need when you're score learning phase? can you please guide through?
Hi JP, Since you're living in a NY apartment, do you have issues with being able to turn up your volume to avoid noise complaints? If you have to mix at lower volumes, are you still able to get a good mix perspective or do you use other monitoring methods besides speakers?
Subscribed! Thanks for sharing your setup - very helpful and so efficient. I struggle with keeping a clean desk that has just what you need and not trying to incorporate everything I've ever owned : ) Just bought the Twin Quad last month, so looking forward to learning it.
Hey Juan. Nice vid! So how are you enjoying that mac studio M1 Ultra so far? Any headache? LOL I mean in terms of software/plugins compatibility/management. I think we all realize that these machine is a BEAST. But many of us are still "afraid" to jump to one of those just now. Perhaps, it would be interesting to watch a video from you about this topic. Specially for incoming media composers -such as myself - who are used to Windows PC. Thanks bro! (loving your channel).
And just like that I’ve ordered a taller monitor and IPad 😂 I love this setup! Not overly complicated and so so versatile Really hope to see more from you on RUclips!
Awesome setup,it looks clean and just enough equipment to do your work the best you can,I lovet it!!! Congrats to your success to, hard work should always pays off, keep up the good work my friend! Best regard from Jonas Lindau/Sweden
Really nice setup! Could you maybe also do a video about a good starting setup? I'm guessing not everyone has the money to invest in a Mac Studio or an Apollo Twin from the get go :D Your Mac has 128 GB of RAM, but what would you recommend as minimum to use libraries comfortably for example? Would you recommend Focusrite audio interface to start out? Mac + 2 monitor, or Macbook + monitor? :)
Hi Juan … I’m curious as to what kind of monitor you’re using to view your movie clips on ? … I have a similar setup and I’m currently using a 24in display but want to upgrade to something like the one that you’re using … Thanks in advance for your help and I really appreciate your inspirational channel !
Awesome !!!, Really Love your set up!. I would love to be a film Music composer!, it's pretty exciting! Your Work is amazing!, Great inspiration you are!!!.
Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing the information on your setup! I learnt a lot which will hopefully help me improve my own setup from watching your videos ! Looking forward to hearing more of your work! Follower from India! :))
@@jpdussan You're welcome!! I just got a Haworth Zody and it's the best chair I've ever owned. Herman Miller's have become the "studio standard", but I've never really enjoyed them. I'll be staying tuned for whatever you go with in the future!!

This is undoubtedly a setup out of a dream, in my opinion.
The tech specs are just absolutely mind-blowing, just like your scores!
That's so nice of you to say Joel! It's the constant evolution an improvement that keeps the space current and functional ☺️
Goodness!! Man, I know I'm 8 months late but thats a great setup... I'm so glad to be in an era where technology allows you to have setups like these.
Thank you for this video ❤. I was searching for someone who could show a setup that's efficient and affordable and I'm glad your video came up.
Thank you! I’m glad this was helpful :)
Looks like you have plenty of space to install a slide out tray above the MK2 to hold a Roli or two.
love, have rise 49, blocks, and lumi, so fun
You definitely need to do a updated studio setup with all the new things you have added to your studio
You’re right! I’m working on it at the moment :)
Incredible! The screen’s functionality in your setup is inspiring. So much memory on the computer side of things. SSD galore.
Man, you have a great little studio 😊
Thanks! It's taken a lot of care and time to put together
You really inspired me a lot! thanks for everything jpdussan❤
Happy to hear this ☺️

The Z stand has no tips on the bottom so it just slides back and forth on the carpet ;)
@@jpdussan Great! Thanks for letting me know. Loved your tour - I watched it several times! :-)

Where can I find the blueprint of connections? It's no longer available on the website 😢.
Yeah! So sorry - feel free to email me and I’ll send it
Nice studio! How do you slide the Z Keyboard ? its very smooth, are there any wheels?
It’s just smooth. I removed the tips on the bottom and replaced them with felt pads.
Thank you so much for this wonderful presentation ! Your studio is awesome! Best of luck in your career ! 😊
Thank you Cristina!
Hey man Love your studio flow. What template are you using for the TouchOSC app?
Thanks dude! I'm using my own "scoring faders for touchosc" you can get it on my website if you're curious :)

Absolutely I can make a video talking about this, maybe different setups you can make with different budget tiers.
@@jpdussan Very good idea! :D
Hey we put our headphones on the same part of the Z stand! Haha, I'm not sure why but I find that really funny.
It’s just so convenient lol!
Hey jp, can you share your TouchOSC template please ?

What’s the name of the mousepad?😊
It's a desk mat by Grovemade
Hey Juan! What app do you use on your iPad for controlling expression and dynamics as a separate MIDI controller?
It’s called touchosc
Nice setup . im 20 and i i just have a pc only but its a start 😂😂
All you really need to make music is a computer and wifi ☺️

Thank you 😁
Hey JP, this is great - inspiring just watching you talk about your setup. Keep going for it sir :-)
Thank you Sam!!
What Touch OSC template are you using ?
My own
600 tracks? Wow I thought 30 was high.
I never end up using that many at a time, but they’re there for saving me time
@@jpdussan You mean you have 600 tracks in a template? Makes sence.
Exactly!
If you need a chair, cannot recommend crown seating enough
Will check it out! Thanks for the rec
Please ask your cameraman not to breathe into the mic🥲
loool
I would go with a Haworth or Steelcase chair over the Herman Miller.
I’m gonna have to check them out! Thanks for the rec

With all due respect, your room has accoustic issue. Can be heard clearly from your voice in this video.
is no one else bothered by the breathing of the camera man? gross
