    That was the first deep conditioner I used from Shea Moisture. I don't remember how it works alone. I would always mix it with coconut creme and honey. I like the manuka honey hair mask in the shea moisture family. It is very moisturizing. I use it without mixing anything in with it.

    I just finished my jar of this deep conditioner. This conditioner is everything for my curls. When I use it I only need some oil and a leave in for my wash & gos. At first I wasn't a fan of the smell but it grew on me. I actually like the JBCO deep conditioner better for my hair. I also think it has more slip. Love you hair. You are my hair inspiration!

    I buy these regularly-in my top 3 most used DC. I purchase from Target and Walgreens were I live and they have never been runny. I would definitely think something is wrong with that batch. It should be thick.

      E Bap all my purchases were fine, thick and creamy plus I added avocado oil and other oils

    I've NEVER seen that conditioner runny like that!😲It's always very thick, with not a lot of slip unless you let it sit for a while.

    This conditioner & the African black soap conditioner (both from the Shea moisture line) are the only products ever that silken my 4b hair & truly moisturize & detangle my hair !!!👍🏽

    I've tried that masque many times I've purchased some that are more watery and some are like regular thick masques. When I do purchase I check to see if I can find a thicker one. Some of their products speak about the consistency because of natural ingredients. I totally agree that you have to know how to use that product or else you will think it sucks. I have to make sure my hair is clarified my cuticle is open and my strands detangled prior to use for the best results.

    The key to using it is to apply oil on top or a few drops of oil in the container then use indirect heat(ie hooded dryer) or warm up the conditioner b4 applying it to the hair for best results.

    Hi Au Curls, I used the same Shea Butter deep treatment masque by Shea Moisture and it doesn' t have good slip as you said and didn't feel it really penetrated my hair strands. I too have low porosity hair and had to warmed the conditioner up prior to use plus added some olive oil to get a little more slip. I protective style 95% usually with wigs so can't give a perspective to how my hairstyles held up. I won't repurchase the product because have found better products for my hair. I do like their Shea Moisture Jamaican line of shampoo and conditioner. Just my two cents...

    Its supposed to be thick cream. I would've taken it back to the store.

  • @tianniyoung7069
    @tianniyoung7069 6 лет назад

    It works well when its warmed up. The slip increases when its warmed, which is true for lots of "natural ingredient" conditioners/masques. Same with their conditioner from that line. But its really not supposed to be runny. Adding olive oil to it helps as well, as it says on the label.

    The texture difference is because they actually make the product thinner on purpose and they sell at these stores for cheap. You go to store A it's more and store B got it for cheaper so they're gonna make it thinner in consistency.

    • @marwil8768
      @marwil8768 7 лет назад +1

      luvpurple95 u are sooooo right! Walgreens has the thick version for $13.49 and Walmart has runny version for $10.33. Smh😠

    I have noticed that the consistency of that particular hair masque has been watery lately. Not sure why but when I first bought it it was nice and thick! I still like it tho and I agree it doesn't have that slip, i usually add something else to it.

    • @marwil8768
      @marwil8768 7 лет назад

      Hirute May I know I've experienced the same thing! I just purchased one jar and returned it, exchanged it for another jar, I opened the jar while I was in Walmart. It seemed somewhat thick, but when I got it home it seemed to have loosened. I asked shea moisture on fb and they said some mess that batches change in consistency. Smh. Then I drove to Walgreens to find it nice and THICK! But I just REFUSE to pay $13.49 for it when Walmart sells it for $10.33. I just Can't do it. Smh

    I prefer the frizz defense masque. this one by itself is a bit waxy feeling, but my hair does not like pure Shea butter either.

    I'm currently using it for the first time. I like the smell. And you're right my curls like ok defined but it's hard to apply even like you said and my end are kinda knotty. I'll see how I like it in the morning!

    Just a quick shout out, your hair by the way ALWAYS looks lovely. I'm not sure where you live, but I've always bought this product in the states. It's not supposed to be a "runny" in consistency. It should be thick, so something was wrong with both batches you bought. I happen to like the product very much, but since I do not live in the states, I'm swithcing my deep conditioner every 3 months . My hair type is 3c/4a. Lately I've been using Giovanni 's Nutrafix hair reconstructor. I live in Germany and the water here is extremely harsh. So when I visit the states again I will purchase the SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque. It should not, not be runny!

    My type 4 hair did not like this masque at all. It also is more thicker and not runny too. I used it on my curly clip ins and not my real hair after three bad experiences of dry hair.

  • @kitkatgeegee

    My least favorite as well, not only in results but smell too. It made my hair feel coarse and tangled. I have a similar curl pattern and density as your hair but mine is high porosity. The jamaican black castor oil is my favorite right now, hope this helped.

      Addicus u know what I was pissed when I recently it and it was runny. But thank u , you just made me realize that the runnier one is easier to apply to my 4b/c hair as well. Thanks, I feel less 😡

    This was the first deep treatment masque was the first I used when I big chopped in 2014. They have definitely changed the formula since then. The consistency use to be more of a runnier slippery consistency & now it's like this thick buttery consistency.

    I haven't used this one in a long time and bought a jar last month to try it out again. I remember when it first came out, it was super thick and creamy but the one I got from Duane Reade last month was runny and watery like yours. :( I don't like it that way. I'm probably not going to purchase it again if they changed the formula.

    Their REFORMULATION sucks: I’m a male. Been using the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner for a while now. In my last purchase recently: I noticed that the shampoo does not have that natural, rich, awesome smelling, white and creamy consistency anymore. They’ve changed it to a shiny, clearer and watered-down formula that really feels like any other shampoo out there. But the worst thing is: IT’S MAKING MY SCALP ITCH LIKE CRAZY. The original formula was the complete opposite: it used to be so invigorating and moisturizing. They have failed to realize that they’re actually dealing with chemicals here. That those ingredients actually affect people’s pH balancing and levels. They think it’s a game that will go un-noticed. I’M GOING TO RETURN THE ITEM: and I will not buy it again if they don’t change it.

    • @jessicalanae7623

      Kclaempress its because it is protein based, if your hair doesnt have that balance between protein and moisture then it can have the tendency to get that dry brittle result after using a protein treatment or if you are protein sensitive
