I think you're saying it a bit backwards on the protein idea. If you overdo it with protein, that's when you get the brittle hair. It's overly hard and inflexible. It's when your hair is suffering hygral fatigue that the hair gets mushy and that's a sign you need protein. But yes, alternating focus on deep moisture vs protein is a good way to make sure you get the best of both and the worst of neither. I love a lot of the same products you recommended, Miche Beauty and adwoa Beauty are especially favs of mine. You've given me a couple new ones to explore as well. Keracare I've only used the shampoo for but will definitely try the conditioner you suggested. Thanks!
Wow, it's disheartening when an influencer makes a mistake and when it's brought to their attention, instead of making the correction, they give a generic "passive aggressive" reply but KEEP the misinformation up for unknowing people to potentially be harmed by. "Soft mushy"= too much moisture, may need more protein. "Dry brittle"= "too much protein, may need more moisture.
Thanks for the upload. Hope this helps -- High porosity hair is very porous -- cuticles are lifted. It is easy to get moisture/hyrdation into it; but, also easy to have it escape. Low porosity hair is the more challenging to get hydration/moisture into the strands which is why steam and heat as well as massaging the hydration (water) / moisture into the strands is beneficial. Low porosity hair once hydrated holds on to the moisture perhaps best. Again, I hope this helps. Merry CHRISTmas. Be well all.
I agree. I have high porosity hair. My hair sucks up water, but it’s difficult retaining that moisture. What’s low porosity hair, you have a difficult time getting your strands to accept the moisture. Heat will help open those cuticles. But, I love your channel! You have such a uplifting personality, and the information you share is so helpful. Thank you and keep up the good work!
BINGO finally someone who makes actual sense!! The top of my head resists moisture more than the back and it’s also rougher frizzer as a result. I also damaged it by heat a bit although it still curls and coils but frizzy, but the information out is so contradictory but your explanation of your hair made me research more and I see low porosity is caused by cuticle damage lol when I say the light switch finally clicked so now I really know what to do for my hair! Thank you! Just got serious a couple of months ago and it’s been difficult navigating the internet with all this misinformation but thank you for being a key to cracking my hair code lol
Melanin haircare and Shea moisture shampoo and deep conditioners are holy grail for me...i might try these new brands listed in 2024. Also...i have high porosity hair...30-45 min with heat for deep conditioning and cold water rinse is always enough.
You had some great picks!! I enjoy quite a few of those!! Oh & I agree with you about following the directions!!!!! There are ZERO reasons or benefits to leave a deep conditioner in for hours or overnight.. it’s a set up for hygral fatigue & possibly moldy scalp.. RINSE IT OUT SIS!!!
Thank you for these tips on deep conditioning products I definitely appreciate this cause I’m still learning a lot about my natural hair and my hair is very thick and long but does get very dry and brittle so I’ll definitely try some of these products out to see how it works on my hair I love your videos they are so helpful in my opinion .🥰🥰🥰🥰
I didn’t know I pronounce water funny until I went to college and ppl were like oh you must be from Philly and I asked why they say that and they would alway respond because the way you say water. hahahahah! love it!
I've suffered with seboraic dermatitis my whole life (I don't think you have it but if you do, it's a very mild case). Top shampoos are 1 Nizoral (contains ketoconazole which is what dermatologists prescribe to treat dermatitis) 2 Neutrogena T Gel (contains tar soap, really stinks but keeps the flakes away for days) 3 Neutrogena T Sal (contains salicylic acid, not as strong as the first 2 but better than most over the counter shampoos).... If you like the minty feel, Mane Choice Tropical Koolada, Mizani Anti Dandruff shampoo and Head and shoulders are decent but I don't think they do much for preventing flakes from forming. You want to rotate these shampoos, as your scalp will get used to active ingredients. I hope this was helpful
My hair was so dry because I would oil my scalp thinking it was helping when really it was hurting me. My hair was so dry, scalp inflamed and lots of dandruff on Day 2. But I stopped using oil the beginning on November and all my problems went away. You are very knowledgeable, thats for the comment!
Salicylic face wash as ur first shampoo on the scalp also does wonders for a squeaky clean scalp...and helpful for those with sensitive scalps. I like the cereve SA facewash once a month in winter.
Our hair is composed of protein so you don’t want to cut it out completely however some people can be “sensitive” to protein which really means that the size of the protein my be too large which makes the protein not being able to fit in the hair and makes it feel rough so what you wanna do is look for products with hydrolyzed protein which is the protein but in a smaller form so it can fit in you hair better or make sure protein is listed low on the ingredient list that means it’s only a small amount in the product also peptides and amino acids are great for people with protein sensitivity because it’s protein that’s broken down to be very small and helps it to fit in the hair the best so it won’t feel rough or dry ❤
Heyyy beautiful!! You know I love me a deep conditioner so let me get comfy ❤ Oouu lots of my favorite….Miche, Adwoa, and UFD 😍 yep Melanin haircare is in ulta and I can’t wait to try it.
I have the SM high porosity masque (as I have high porosity hair). But, I’ve never used it! I need to use it soon! Heard great things about it! How’s the slip?

Between the tgin and Camille rose which one has more moisture?

I love the way you pronounce the word "water". It's all good. Great video.

@AsAlwaysAleia I'm from st louis I pronounce it like there is a "D" in it. "Wader" . My kids correct me all the time. 🤣🤣

Thanks for these suggestions. I appreciate it. can we get a list of products without proteins?

A lot of Black professionals use Kera care. They have been around a long time .
Some people live in these trees ? Really ? In 2024, with Internet, we are still in the "do you live in trees in Africa" phase ? smh
😂😂😂 they are the ones who live in trees because of their ignorance 🤣🤣🤣
Moisture overload is mushy and soft protein overload is hard and brittle
Im listening
Thanks for supporting my channel :)
It appears your hair loves baobab oil 🙂
Great products but this video is a great example that people get on here saying just anything and the people watching need to research for themselves.
Girl no one lives in those trees 🤨
❤❤❤😊
Hello love your videos-can you link your hair dryer please thanks @AsAlwaysAleia
