    I moved from UK to Bulgaria just before Brexit. I bought a house in a rural village for £8000.
    I can live on about £400 per month all bills in. It's tight... but i eat well, i stay warm in winter and its safe. I wouldn't want to go back to UK now. My life is humble... but i'm happy.

    It does not pay to work in the UK, once upon a time a 30K salary meant a comfortable life, affordable mortgage repayments etc. That ship has long since sailed. Generations of failed policies have led to this, Tory, Labour - two sides of the same corrupt, incompetent, self serving political system, The streets are strewn with rubbish, the housing/renting situation is scandalous for a so called 1st world economy, and forget about getting on the housing ladder. There is nothing for a young person to aspire towards, you're better off rolling the dice and taking your chances in a country where you at least stand an even chance of succeeding based on your merits and hard work.

      Albania is great. We live in London, but we loved Tirana. It’s very affordable, and so many new apartments being created. A lot of global investment visible. Cafes are plentiful everywhere serving amazing patisseries and coffees. Young people working in them on laptops. The people are kind, friendly welcoming. It’s such a happening city truly on the up. There’s amazing mountains and coastline, and room to breathe. Great opportunity for you. I think you’d make a real good go of it. Since Brexit the UK is clearly suffering opportunity. Young people losing their freedom of movement, it has been catastrophic for so many. The UK is in turmoil, councils are going bankrupt. It’s not changing anytime soon. And inequality is only going to worsen. Many will never afford a home. What have you got to lose. No risk no gain.

      No one cares about normal immigration that benefits the UK. What people care about is mass immigration that has fundamentally changed the UK demographicly. 1961 London was 97% English today it's 36%, the cockney slang language has been completely eradicated. No one voted for their children to be brought up in a totally different country to what it once was, in fact they voted for less immigration. It's akin to ethic cleansing and would still be true if it was happening to any other country.

    I grew up in the 80's and 90's living in the Bournemouth area. It used to be fun. Pubs and clubs and parties. People meeting up. Fairs and carnivals and rallies. Then in the 2000's everything started going slowly downhill. I was earning a decent wage working in a factory. Then came mass immigration from Eastern Europe. Wages never went up, after that, and then the "money printing" started. I have travelled in Australia, Central America, and parts of Europe. I would live in any one of those places now, if I was able to. The England I grew up in no longer exists. It is now just a miserable decaying ruin of what it once was. All planned.

      Yeah 2000 when all the poor newly joined eastern Europe countries joined the EU,pushed up rent's, house prices, doctors, dentist's etc put so much demand on everything jobs you name it,as well as regular migation,every single year.
      900k Brit's in 27 Europe countries,6 million from there in 1 tiny island,then they reproduced adding another million more at least.
      Most people that went to Europe from the UK were self-sufficient and already completed having their families like retirement people.
      Then Brexit happened, nothing much changed everyone from Europe stayed here in the UK and naturalised and got more rights.
      Then pandemic,conflict in UKrne, inflation, record migation numbers for the last few years and now free movement for under 30s from Europe is back on the cards,free education here paid by us,jobs etc free NHS, that's what the EU wants from us, eventually I think Starmer will agree 😢

The late 90s through to the recession of 2008 seemed to be a fantastic time to be around in the UK. I thought of coming back several times. Since that time it seems there has been a decline that is now in free fall. An entire generation has not seen what the UK used to be or could be. After a recent trip I was stunned at what has happened in the last 18 months. Of course, the United States has had problems too. Such cycles are common and no doubt there will be a resurgence of the UK in the future. With a shift in demographics, culture, regional trends, politics, etc., this will probably look radically different than anything gone before. It's very difficult abroad. Myself am an immigrant here in the UK, came from north Africa and lived in many European countries and compared to the UK, I really struggled. I came to the UK when Tony Blair was in power and studied and got my degree in IT and got a job as a software engineer and I have really done well. I am so grateful to the UK that helped me enormously. True now economically is not doing well, so as other countries. The whole world is in turmoil economically and the UK is not an exception. Some countries may look nice, nice weather, nice beaches, but when it comes to every day living, it's not easy. Things will definitely change in the UK and it's definitely worth resisting, life is not always perfect I am afraid. But I wish you luck in the future 👍

    • @analystt99
      @analystt99 День назад +5

      Depends on what you consider to be high quality life. In many african countries, job opportunities are rare but you don't see homeless and food isn't difficult to have either. Many are living comfortably, that same comfort will cost a person in the UK 35-50 hours a week of work and little to no life. So, it all depends on what you seek in life. The ratio is what matters. 500 dollars a month in many country is good, in the UK you need £3-5k a month to afford the basic Or join a council flat or anti social behaviour area to live. By this logic, if you compare 500 to 3k in Europe, you will see western countries better but that's not reality for many people and the ratio is what truly matters.

    • @analystt99
      @analystt99 День назад

      And not everyone wants to work in IT. If you didn't do IT, the likelihood of a brown person to get a job in other high paying job is rare. They rarely get hired, there's a reason everytime a brown or black person is financially stable, it's tech or operational job. This alone means many africans will fail to succeed in western countries.

    I too have reached this stage....about 5 years ago....but something always seems to hold me back. I'm ambitious so for me I've always wanted to leave this country it's not in my heart to stay here and my wife and daughter see what I've been trying to tell them because it's ridiculous how expensive and dangerous it's becoming.
    I earn £2600 a month after tax, my rent has climbed from £1200 to £1650 in 4 years council taxes at £230. Then your other bills car etc.....wtf this is driving my mind up the wall now you need to be earning 4k a month to be comfortable which I can do but I'll run myself to the ground working non which I'd rather do now with a goal in mind. I'd say 2-3 years I see more and more that people want to leave the UK and I salute you for doing so, I won't wish you the best of luck because that's probability, you will do well my friend with the sun in the morning the ocean at the view and just a different perspective and less planes contaminating the sky, you will thrive brother God bless you and your misses.

    I wish to tell you to not sleep on Romania, in fact I am almost certain that if you and your girlfriend give it a chance, there is a high chance you will move in it. It also meets your criteria with rent, being safe, and having good weather (4-5 months of sunny weather). Make sure you do research upon what city you wish to live in. If you love the sea, Constanța is for you, literally going to the beach for months. If you think work wise the capital is the best option. If you wish scenery, very nice people and nature, Cluj is amazing. After 12 years of UK as an immigrant myself I am going home in literally 2 months, had enough of the crime, useless police, homeless everywhere, antisocial "kids" etc. Good luck mate with whatever you choose

      Yeah, it’s really sad to see how the UK has gone downhill. So many people are struggling, and it just feels like there’s no way forward. That’s a big part of why I had to make this decision to leave. I totally get where you’re coming from.

       @joecashino born and bred in Lancashire; my hometown is now an immigrant waste land where people get extra dole to drink themselves to death. Grew up in the 90s, have a BA and an MA in the literary arts field and there was never any work outside of teaching for me (which I chose to do abroad in Asia, for a while). Now have a part-time cleaning job in Somerset. The country is utterly broken but I respect those who want to stay and tough it out AND those who leave. Unfortunately for the native population it is really only those with inherited wealth and very good (for the moment!?) pensions. For younger people with business aspirations, or those who want to live off the land and have a family schooled independently of institutions, we are simply priced out of it...
      I'll still have(very bottom-of-the-ladder) property in the U.K which will give me an income until I find an investment abroad... but I have always been a musician/painter and poet... and in those areas - in the Britain of 2025 - attempting activities that don't have the immediate remuneration factor built into them is simply an exercise in starvation. I'll be in far north-eastern Italy by the end of the year... with hopefully some forays up into the places you mention, so I see where your head's at. Best of luck!

    I hate to break it to you pal. But winners emigrate. Because it’s even harder to make it overseas than back home. Those people who emigrated into the UK years ago were hard workers and they made it. You have lost in the UK and you are running away from your losses. A loser is a loser wherever he goes. I’ve seen Brits in Australia who didn’t make it there either and after a couple of decades they go home and resumes losing. You’ve got it all in the UK. Fix your problems there and then emigrate as a winner.

After then you can travel for 3/6/9 months, doesn't matter, but you will have a place you own. It will give you the sense of stability. Now you are young, just travel, but in the future you will feel the need of it. And summer time pop in to Budapest, Poland, Check Republic. You will enjoy it. (I had clients from North-Macedonia, lovely people. Very friendly.)One more thing: you are choosing a very safe part of the world.

    It's not any easier here in the U.S. it can be really expensive. I live in a HCOL area and rents can be from 1500-3500 a month around here. When you go to buy a home you will still pay that kind of rate monthly. I have been thinking about what else I can do for money as well, not sure working my healthcare job is enough anymore. The other option is you just work a lot more like my neighbors but then you are never around. They have like two jobs and a side hustle to pay for their 720k house that needs work.

    I'm from Ireland, but I left in 2009 for financial reasons during the recession and moved to Asia. At the time I had a RUclips channel (doesn't exist any more) and I made a video EXACTLY like this one explaining why I was leaving, right down to the walk through the grey, slightly depressing, winter setting in rural Ireland! Anyway long story short at the time it was daunting, but as of now I've never moved back. Best decision I ever made considering the cost of living crisis and house prices in the west. It seems even worse now than it was then! And there are a world of opportunities out there.

    A l lot of people struggle with making a living ion the country they go to , I moved from UK to Cambodia . I could live on a few hundred dollars a month but a lot of small business here in Cambodia do not even make that because there is less money in the economy to begin with . I see lots of expats with retirement dreams come over and think they will start a business with a few thousand backs and have 1000 dollar month income and retirement lifestyle and it is a rude awakening to spend 60 hours a week to make 20 bucks . Get your ducks in a row . If you have a degree you can teach English to get a visa and make an income . p.s I am sure your girlfriend is lovely , but most blokes leaving the UK are not taking the women with them and you may find the UK/ western feminist woke religion if they indoctrinated falls very flat.

    I don't live in the UK, but I've moved 3 times to 3 different countries in my 50+ year life, and I never regret a single move. It's always been a total upgrade for me.
    Your fears are understandable, it's the same no matter where you live. Sometimes you just run out of options where you are and in that case it makes total sense to make the move. That said - without scaring you too much (or others who read this), it's pretty important you save up for that big move. If you move, always expect your well calculated cost in reality to be at least 2 times the cost you thought it would be, it will ALWAYS be bigger than you thought.
    You can save money when you move to your new location by filling up your new home with second hand furniture, that has helped me tremendeously every time, even despite that - it's always been 2 times the cost. When you're new to an area - you will always learn so much, your first expenses will be based on inexperience of the area, the living costs and what you thought you'd need, you end up not having thought of it all. But thats okay.
    The best part with moving is that other people will get to know a new person (every place I've moved to, loves fresh new people with stories to tell, experience to bring etc.)
    it's rarely ever a loss. The first 2 years are usually the hardest, it takes time to socialize, get to know the locals, settle and feel at home. You need to take ANY job coming your way, network like crazy with the locals. One of the BEST ways to get to know the locals is to work for the local schools - then you remove every doubt they had about you when a stranger comes to town, plus you're helping out were no one usually wants to help out, and their parents are usually well established in that town, and they will discover you - and later you'll have job opportunities with them.
    Good luck, adventurer! The world is yours.
