The business owner's heart is in such a wonderful place, it's almost hard to remember that people like him are still out here using their business prowess to benefit those that deserve a fairer shake than what they'd generally get from this life.
A little empathy + a big heart = hope
It's hard to remember, with what we all see happening around us (via the Internet) that the good still outweighs the bad.
Godspeed, everyone ✌🏽
I work with adults with disabilities and you’d be disgusted to know how often they are taken advantage of and stolen from even by their own family members
This raises my question of suspicion? actually agree with you and thought about that before i read this glad somebody else thinks the same way. I think it’s the mother or maybe one of her siblings that could of done it cause tiktok videos quality isn’t really the best. I doubt anybody could make out the numbers unless the mother really held the camera close enough for everyone to see that would make her the special needs person then but usually stuff is always so pixelated on tiktok I highly doubt you can make out the fine details like routing numbers etc. unless they created the video elsewhere besides tiktok then posted it on Tiktok then maybe the scammers did see the check in perfect detail.
Yes this is very true their monthly SSI check that's supposed to go for their stuff next thing you know Mom wants to get herself a little shopping spree down at Target
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist yup exactly
In other words you work with potatoes.
And by their employers. They're legally allowed to pay them less than minimum wage. I always feel a bit suspicious if a business is known to only or mostly have special needs employees. I try to investigate that, like on their website or whatever. I love to support those with special needs being employed, but it's important to be sure they are actually being supported by their employers first. This story seems very genuine though.
Did they say $1500 for 2 weeks of work? At an ice cream shop? So not only is this company hiring amazing workers but they’re also paying them fairly. Gives me a little hope in this world. I’m glad her boss is such a good guy and on top of his books. That’s amazing.
That’s what I thought $1500. 4 two weeks work at an ice cream shop. that’s got to be a glitch …
There's no way they deserve 1500 for scooping ice cream 🤦♀️
@@mynotificationsareoff..goc358 they don't be deserved to be paid fairly? they probably do a LOT more than just scooping ice cream but whatever
Once I left my purse at a restaurant. I had been talking to an employee with Down syndrome while I was eating. When I went back to see if my purse was there the manger said nobody had turned in a purse. When the young lady with Down Syndrome saw me she went and got my purse from where she had hid it when she realized I left it. She hadn’t even showed it to anyone. ❤️

I'm glad that business owner was on top of his game, much respect to him and this business for what they do and are accomplishing.
what?
15 employees and 11 of them have needs. My heart is touched that they’re able to work and be happy! I am brought to tears. What a wonderful establishment and I hope I’m able to spend my money there soon!
Update: going tomorrow and hopefully she’s working! ☺️
I think it's great too but unfortunately people underestimate people with disabilities and think they are stupid or incapable. Lots of people with down syndrome and other conditions are very able. I wish her mother or someone else had told her to blur out her check information before she showed it to the world though. She seems like a sweet woman that doesn't stop to consider the horrible and deceptive people in this world and I admire that but unfortunately I think this ice cream shop will be a target now that the world knows 11 out of 15 workers have some type of disability. I just hope TikTok and the news didn't just make this woman and her staff unsafe and put them in danger. A thief might think this is an ideal place to hit. The owner is an accountant too so he likely has money, it's a business that brings in money and people now have the bank name the owner has an account at, they know the ice cream shop now and they likely assume it's a place that could easily be robbed where nobody would fight or argue them or pull a gun. Hopefully they would be wrong and regret trying anything stupid but thieves are different now and do more dumb and selfish stuff than ever before. I hope the owner considers getting a security guard, just for a little while until the news around the shop quiets down. I just have a bad feeling about this.
The owner is a stand up dude!

They weren't stealing from the employee, but the employer. The video says that the thief made a duplicate payroll check using the information on her paycheck (the business' bank account number would be on the bottom of the check), but I'm guessing with their own name on it as the payee. Sounds like when the thief tried to deposit it, their bank probably put a hold on it for a few days, and the business owner was able to bounce it because he saw it within 24 hours. I would think someone at the thief's bank would know the identity of the thief, then, if he tried to deposit it into his account.
People will steal from you even if you're the kindest person in the world. This is a world we live in. I'm so happy the girl got her hard earned money back. Hope she keeps smiling and being happy, she deserves it.

My sister has special needs and we found out that a man from the internet “tinder” stole her Xbox and was having sexual relationships with her when legally she cannot consent. She was living alone after asking for a bit of independency. I literally gagged and wanted to end him. My step mom was ruthless and put him in prison after she let some people deal with him on the street. Be careful if you have a special needs son or daughter.

What an angel of a person. Your worth more than anyone can rob from you!
The happiness and the proudness in her face is awesome, the person who tried to steal money from them should be shameless and heartless.
The mom must have an incredibly innocent and pure heart to not understand how common evil is in the world. She really thought that millions of strangers on the internet would all be kind enough to not steal when it’s convient for them. I wish this world was safer but unfortunately people are selfish and it is dangerous for people with hearts as innocent as theirs. I’m glad she got her hard earned paycheck back, cause she earned it!✌🏾

Yeah I hope her SSN wasn't visible.
Yeah men make the world so dangerous. Nobody can live in peace as long as they are here.

You don’t steal & especially to steal from someone so vulnerable. I wish we lived in a sweet, innocent world where a mom wouldn’t have to think twice about sharing a video like this. So true! And what a result for her managing to keep the money! But what I really don't understand is why Americans are still paying employees in cheques, surely you can just set up bank transfers? I've not actually seen a cheque in maybe 10 years now and that was from a small tax refund.

as long as she isn't serving people
Bro this man who made this company is a true giant of a man! Good job on your first pay check and to the person who did that bro something bad for sure has or will happen to you a lot!
This company is tops for doing what they do with their product & their employees. Outstanding.
That is a great boss on top of his business and was able to protect his employee. A fine example of leadership.
@@dontbotherwithreplying1543 That’s literally not her manager’s responsibility lol… his job is to provide pay for hours worked. Her parents should be responsible for the rest.
You have to be a special kind of evil to steal from someone like that, especially someone with special needs. The idea to clone a check never even crossed my mind when I saw the video. Thank goodness for the boss paying attention 🙌
Do you know that 20 BILLION dollars are scammed out of elderly and vulnerable people each year by Indian high tech Scammers? The world is a very evil place.
I never paid much attention to people with special needs until I dated a DSP(Direct Support Professional) she worked in a facility with special needs adults and did in home care for them. She showed me so many things and shared so much with and I have so much love and respect for special needs ppl now. They are awesome. To this day I still thank that girl for showing me a side I’d never seen before and opening my eyes and heart to her people,
Thank you for the employees you hire. ❤️
If I ever find this Ice cream shop, am spending my money! God bless that owner and every employee
I'm so sorry Dale . But this is a lesson learned
You should NEVER have posted such a personal document for public consumption.
On top of getting her first paycheck she learned a valuable lesson about life. It isn’t rainbows and cotton candy. You flash your personal info with a check for money you get burned. Not sure how her mom didn’t know this general rule.
WoW what a company and a great ceo -- i hope this franchise explodes nation/world-wide. "I know mama" the way she said that brought tears to my eyes.
Well this is a beautiful company I love that they hire special needs workers that's amazing
These are literally people with the kindest hearts. What kind of person would do this to these vulnerable people of our society.
a lot more people than you think.
@@Magic_dawn Sadly, that's true😔
Human garbage. That's who.
People who gotta pay for gas because y’all voted for Biden
Thier doomed to the end........drying in thier evil sins of destruction. What they reap, they will surely sow the consequences of their actions.
Such a sweet soul
We all need to step up and protect the vulnerable good on everyone that helped her
This is so sad. Absolutely sickening that someone would do this
Kudos to the guy that started this, this is the opportunity that most special needs people need. They really work hard and are very proud of the job they do...they just need a chance.
He’s getting free labor basically, can get most of the pay to them back at the end of the year through federal tax refunds
@@apapz3245 I understand that but he still gives then a chance to feel good about themselves. That's important.
@@apapz3245 damn thats a great idea, i should put a sign in front saying "TARDS HIRING!"
@@Blox117 it is a very good idea, and it’s awesome this guy is getting played out as a great caring manager when he’s only tryna save some $$ haha I love it
@@apapz3245 What's wrong with trying to save some money?
what a sweet person God bless you Gail
Bless her heart, what a low life for trying to steal her paycheck. Good luck in the future and Congratulations on your job. God bless
My son has downsyndrome (trisomy 21) it's so nice to see someone giving them a chance to show the world how awesome they are and pay them fairly. My heart goes out to the girl, I'm glad the thief didn't get her money, she worked hard for it and wants to buy everyone birthday and Christmas gifts
This business owner is awesome! Everyone living in that area should definitely go try their ice cream and support it. Congratulations young lady, I'm so proud of you for working so hard and then to help others, I pray blessings upon blessings for you for you and your family.
the business owner pays them really well too, 1600$ for a two week check, thats 20$ an hour, in a state with one of the lowest costs of living.
i wish i could go there and support them but its on the other side of America
@@thashroko Send a postcard. Post a photo of you, thumb's up, of the postcard. Meta-level positive vibes.
They would both understand and appreciate your modest effort.
@@thashroko A Burden.
What a great name.
A Burden (on your conscience).
But: "failed"? What's up with that?
I go to college in about 2 hours from there, there is also a coffee shop (Bitty & Beau's) that hires people with disabilities that was founded in my hometown, and now it's a franchise
@@aburden8580 :P I'm just bad at everything so i set the bar low with the name. if i'm playing video games and i mess up, the squad cant get mad at a guy who's name tells you he stinks.
God Bless those who started this company, makes many people very happpy
That mother learned a valuable lesson about the dangers of social media. I hope everyone with that naivete takes it to heart. Desperately happy that everything worked out all right for them... precious, precious family. Good job, boss!!
