I use to live near a hospital that served a large rural area. Whenever I saw people driving fast in the direction of the hospital I pulled over and got out of their way. I didn’t need a degree in rocket science to figure out where they were going.

Little to no hiring standards and no system in place to blacklist them from becoming cops. You can be investigated and fired in one county/state and move and be accepted into another PD somewhere else without them batting an eye.

This is why we need an independant branch of the federal government to oversee police officers and hold them accountable when they do break the law and public trust. Suing the town or city that hired them only makes taxpayers pay for the mistakes of cops. But last I checked, people can’t swerve around police officers when they’re blocking the road just because it’s convenient for them. Absolutely unacceptable. Both of those cops should get in trouble for blocking the road in the first place, but the one who doubled down on his mistake afterwards needs to be fired and criminally charged. Nobody should have the power to block entry to the ER and essentially take control over ppl's lives. What if someone was bleeding out in the car and every second was crucial to their survival? His actions could've cost someone their life.

Those officers should also be charged for harassment and more. They put her in more harm by blocking them from getting to the er as she would've needed an ultrasound to check on the baby. A fire crew can't do that!
