Could tell me what are the interior dimensions, please? Especially the height from the very bottom of the freezer and from the compressor bunp! Thanks a bunch!
Hi! I just received mine and there are three settings Min, Max and off. What setting did you leave yours at? Do you have to leave it on MAX to get 0 degrees?
So what the hell is that metal track on the bottom.. could someone please tell me?? It has two feet on the wrong side and a track. I have searched every possible answer. All the way down to I think it has something to do with a slide out track system. I'll be building one shortly.
Its made by a Chinese company that bought out GE appliance. Its on sale right not as a Black Friday special for $124.99 apparently you got an even better deal.
Hi. I bought one recently and when I un boxed it, I noticed a black rubber plug that was just sitting in the bottom of the packaging. Any idea where that might go?
I found one at Best Buy for $189 this week. Wish it were bigger too, but there are no chest freezers to be found anywhere! The Danby I found arrived with a slice through to insulation and several dents.
@@AwkwardHamster I was more wondering if there would be a chance that I could increase the temp to uniformly thaw the food contents of the freezer, while still remaining under the 40 degrees Fahrenheit safety zone for thawing frozen food
@@brookelanglais9456 Not frost free..that is the whole reason for having a chest freezer. You missed temperature range in degrees (your choice of unit); power consumption in watts at each of the available temperature settings. Projected cost depends heavily on price.
@@AwkwardHamsterAwkwardHamster: I'm considering this freezer. I'm curious, how did you connect the thermostat you purchased from Amazon? And would you also list the thermostat part number/ description/ brand name in your reply? Much appreciated.
@@keghan1 I believe the author meant a visual 'thermometer'. Every freezer comes with a thermostat and this unit has a mechanical temperature control dial.
Blu-Ray I keep it around 0. I don’t remember if I posted a video about the wireless thermometer I got for this. It is good to have. I’ll make a follow up video about this fridge in the summer, around July.
Blu-Ray I think 0 F is just right for freezer. Only time I saw ice buildup was when it was very hot in the garage and ice would build up around the rubber seal. I haven’t had ice buildup inside the unit.
Is there going to be a follow-up video to see how this worked the past year?
Looks good, thanks for a very informative video. I'm trying to cut down on grocery trips due to covid so this unit will come in handy.

How is it holding up?
Hi! I just received mine and there are three settings Min, Max and off. What setting did you leave yours at? Do you have to leave it on MAX to get 0 degrees?
I do not leave it at max. Mine is set to min. I got an analog thermometer and it reads roughly 0F to 3 F
I am looking for info on how best to remove the shipping box.
Does this freezer have any type of wi-fi or smart home protocol? I'm hoping no, it's a long story. I just need a bare-bones freezer.
It doesn’t have WiFi or smart home functions. But, it does have a drainage hole and temperature control, which are must haves for me.
@@AwkwardHamster Thanks bud. That's what i needed to hear.
Do you still use this freezer? Any issues?
Still use it. No issues. I clean or defrost it once a year.

I figured it was just a base and left it alone
wish you spent more time explaining the interior size and depth
What is the reason for only two leveling feet?
I don’t remember. Since it doesn’t wobble I haven’t given it much thought.

Yes. I’ll make one after the holidays.
Hi. I bought one recently and when I un boxed it, I noticed a black rubber plug that was just sitting in the bottom of the packaging. Any idea where that might go?
That could be a hose connector for draining it through a hose or tube rather than into a bowl or bucket. I saw it in a different video.
A lot of people are stymied about how to get the cord out of compartment in the back. Disappointed you didn't show that.
There wasn’t a cored storage compartment. I guess if I needed to replace the cord I would have to open the back.
Did you say 100 dollars? They are 189. But i can't get one, they are sold out, since covid
I got it when it was on sale. In hindsight, I should have gotten a larger chest.

How much can it hold
50 cubic feet

So 370 lbs thanks I need more schooling
What is the approximate internal temperature range when choosing either extreme on the dial?
I haven’t tried to see if it goes below zero.
@@AwkwardHamster I was more wondering if there would be a chance that I could increase the temp to uniformly thaw the food contents of the freezer, while still remaining under the 40 degrees Fahrenheit safety zone for thawing frozen food
I don’t know the answer to that. I have not tried that. I’ll eventually have to defrost the freezer. But, that won’t happen anytime soon.

This is exactly what im looking for. . Have you had any major issues?
No issues. Since this didn’t come with a thermostat, I got one off amazon.

How did it hold up? Could you put a link to review in the cards? 🙂🤟🏾
Still works great. In the summertime some ice builds up at the seal but that’s expected. No icing issue, haven’t had the need to defrost.

Does the outside of ur freezer get hot after u plug it for 15 mins? Cuz mine does, is it suppose to do that? I just got it today too
Not hot as in I cannot touch. Which side are you touching?
Monnik R Dinh I just got one today it's been hot every since I plugged it in
How much did you buy this for ?
$100
@@AwkwardHamster Was it black Friday or a sale? I'm seeing them for $150 right now.
Dang, $100 is a steal I paid 135 on sale at best buy.
Dam no wheels?
No wheels. There are aftermarket dolly attachments but that basically half the cost of the freezer.
It’s on ‘sale’ 6 years later for $169.99 (regular 220) 😅
Danby much more reliable than insignia!
Why do you say that? I'm looking to by a freezer
Danby warranty only good if set up inside house. Void if used outside, in garage, etc.
