I would have hoped that we would have moved passed Rollback needing to be confirmed and for it to just be standard at this point, but with 8ing on a shoe string budget i'm afraid we'll need a guarantee
What makes the new trailer looks nicer is the lighting. The thing that made everyone say the game look ugly, but not quite being able to put the finger on it, is the lighting. The shadows are too pronounced, which makes the characters look dark and blend in with the stage. There were also no interaction with particles (for example, when Killua uses his blue lightning it doesn't produce any blue light around it on other entities). If you pause on the animation of Gon charging up his move it becomes pretty obvious. This game will look amazing on release.
My biggest reservation is they’ve already confirmed no crossplay so I feel like this game will be similar to dnf duel where it’s fun for the first month but then it becomes actually impossible to find a match online (doubly so with me being Australian) beyond that release window.
You say that but forget it would just give devs an excuse to cut corners even further. Dbfz selling as well as it did means they're is a market that wants anime games but they should still be high quality
@@pretzels7437 dbfz has a much higher budget than this game I am most definitely willing to cut it some slack if the gameplay is good land from the animations it's clearly made by people who care about the IG source material) Me and alot of people are tired of poorly made 3D anime fighters if we have ANY hope of that trend disappearing, it's with the success of this game
Verticality! Yes! I miss it so much from more recent airdasher titles. Coming from +R it was a bummer in Rev/Strive, and from MBAACC to MBTL, along with all the other titles in the last decade that have focused less on that. But I do really enjoy this potentially taking more inspiration from TvC opposed to UMVC3 in screen space usage and not having so much interaction happen off-screen. I so hope they care enough to give a functioning netplay experience, and while the netcode may or may not be acceptable, I hope they put a considerable amount of effort into the lobbies/spectating/ranked/matchmaking since that's well within their power. Maybe we need more budget fighting games if this is the only way to get them to just take mechanics from the OG games. In general, I like a dev taking a perspective of first understanding your budget and working within those constraints rather than first trying to be like everything that's trending and then doing as poor a version of that as possible given your budget. The movement drifting and IADs, character-specific options, movement before round start, push block defensive options, mix, and assumed pace are really welcoming. Hoping for the best! I'm glad I just snagged TvC. Given they've already revealed half the roster, I'm expecting this is coming out this year. I think like DBFZ they have a bit of an issue of lacking female characters, so alongside Machi and the likely Biscuit, I think Shizuku and Palm are darkhorse possibilities and Pitou will be a nice "surprise" for people. Chrollo has to be in, but I wonder if he's more like a Seth or a Shang Tsung, or if he has something completely revolutionary. Could they possibly not have Kite and instead Pitou is a puppet character? Morel would be great, but I think Knuckle has the possibility for some of the most creative mechanics in fighting games. Illumi would be really welcome, even if he only ends up being a random select/Mokujin type option. I kind of think one of the older Zoldyck's should be in, but we're running out of spots. Pariston getting Phoenix Wright style options could be magical. We really need this to be successful so we can get DLC!
I like Genthru, he's a good representation of the random scumbags you can just meet out in the world as obstacles to your goals. Not every major character needs to be a world ending threat or secretly part of someone else' backstory
Wasn't excited for the HxH fighting game until I saw the trailer. This is MvC3 with a dash of TvC and I'm so on board for that. Even the fight intros are literally just the MvC3 intros. Also, while I don't expect this game to look amazing, people forget that MvC3 had a lot less visual polish in early builds as well. Nen Impact will look better in the final build. Maybe.
HxH is my favourite manga/anime. I'll definitely get this, but I've always been intimidated by 3v3 games, real ones with proper assists and such. Will have to learn so much.
also broski at 13:58, you are DEF not coping, they changed killua intro animation. look at the pv teaser when it first came out and the uvo/machi trailer. killua had different intro animation poses, so yeah they are trying to polish it as they go
I'm on my knees praying this game has rollback but I won't lie the lack of news on that and the switch release but not xbox is stressing me out a little
I like 8ing. They made Bloody Roar and Battle Garegga which in classics in my book. That said I wasn't feeling DNF Duel and this looks rough. Like it's early but I can totally see them releasing the game as is at $60 and no/poor rollback.
The more I see, the more I want to play the game. Definitely getting it if it's got rollback. Without rollback, it'd have to be pretty cheap. I'm a massive HxH and UMvC3 fan, but paying full price to mess around in training mode would be too painful. I'd rather wait for a sale and have a bit of fun without burning a hole in my wallet.
Honestly this could be a light in the dark. If the game looking like it does, means that it is indeed on the "cheaper" side, that could mean that the characters are also on the "cheaper" side. This could be the team game where the roster is the thing of note about the game, rather than its graphics or its gameplay depth.
Even though this game is the true successor of MvC it will die quickly while 2XKO will succeed. The hardcore MVC players will be focusing on SF6 or 2XKO because of the numbers...
@@iggydadawg9712 it was never about the price, more about the dev's stubborness/minimal care about people outside Japan/lack of knowledge about rollback netcode. I don't think Eighting ever made a game with rollback themselves and i don't think they handled the netcode for DNF duel (which was codeveloped with Arcsys)
@@lorenzosp8566not going against your point, but the JP part is a non factor, JP also has lag, it's not the internet paradise that argument seems to imply. Rollback is good for everyone regardless
I think Kite would be hard to add. His Nen ability has barely been explored at all. They would have to get creative and just make stuff up, or otherwise ignore his random weapon mechanic (which would be the coolest part about adding Kite), and have him focused only on his scythe weapon or something. I do think Crollo is guranteed to show up, but I wouldn't be shocked if he's saved for DLC. Will this game even get DLC? 16 is such a pathetic amount for a 3v3 game, I'm still in the first stage of grief.
Idk why people think it wont have Rollback? DNF had it, so why wouldnt this? Rollback is basically required nowadays to even make it off the chopping block
I honestly think the graphical complaints are mostly due to the awful stages. And the 16 characters is pretty limited. But if it costs 30-40 bucks, I am down.
can't wait to play it but its upsetting that the first game in 10 years to even come close to UMvC3 gameplay wise AND developed by 8ing, is not getting the budget it deserves. Oh well. I'll take what I can get. If it don't have rollback I wont get it either cuz id rather just play marvel online.
I was so hyped for Jojo's until I got online in the Beta. I eventually got it on sale but the lack of rollback really keeps me from playing. This one NEEDS rollback
Hunter x hunter feels like it's going to flop because of insane hype. People just want another MvC and are taking it out on Nen Impact. The game damn near lost its "It's a Hunter X Hunter game" due to being related to MvC💔
Minor correction: When I say bushiroad is producing just pretend I said publishing!
Don't let this distract you from the fact that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum.
And its gameplay mechanics involves using negative edge!
“It looks like a 3DS game… I’m buying it anyways (as long as it’s like 30 bucks)” seems to be the general consensus rn
if its not 30 bucks, consider it dead at release
actually it looks like a switch game... on account of it coming for the switch

idk if u read the comment, but at 13:03 , killua doing the knife hand move is also a pretty cool reference to the source material as well
