The Level 1 beating Luke's fireball is a universal thing. All level 1s have 1 frame of full invincibility on startup so if u time it right, sandblast is so fast it can travel past your character during the invincible 1 frame freeze
You have to be extremely perfect to make AKI’s coward crouch into dive beat fireballs. It’s one of the reasons why I wished they made the dive activate from her slide dash instead of her coward crouch. Not only would it easily beat fireballs through medium slide into dive (with AKI’s slide quickly going underneath a fireball and then diving), the light slide into dive would work as a feign bait attack (with AKI feigning the slide and dive to bait mistakes) whilst the heavy/OD version would be a side switch attack (with AKI sliding past the opponent and diving at them from behind).
@@kevingriffith6011 I think in the video of AKI in testing phase they did have her being able to do slide into coward crouch kick so they may have had set slide to be able to go into coward crouch but took it away.
15:12 I did a perfect parry test for every normal in the game earlier this year, and there are a couple of multiple hit normals that have this property too.
I've seen a lot of people post their thoughts for season 2 AKI, and I haven't seen anyone say the ONE thing I want: Level 2 should be fully project invul That at least *seems* to be the point of the move.. to beat projectiles.... but it just... doesn't? That should change?
I feel like the consequence of stepping on the puddle is too weak to make her a strong setup character. At all ranks people just casually step through it. Maybe they should make the puddle cause a poison burst on poisoned enemies instead of just poisoning them. I certainly would be a lot more paranoid of it if that was the case. 😂
@@georgesmith5201 no it's the whole point of it just like Fang's fireball in SFV. There are moment where you can willingly take it and other time when it's not a good idea. It all depends on your ressources and where you're at in the match
I don't think she really neatly fits into any one archetype-kinda like Chun-Li, except Chun-Li doesn't fit because she has a wide breadth of tools that allow her to do anything she wants, whereas AKI doesn't fit because she... cannot do everything she wants.
@@callmek186 Honestly I'm not so sure. She's kind of like Necro from 3rd strike: they *feel* like they should be a long range poke kind of character on the surface, but in reality they do best when they're rushing their opponent down. I consider her more of a one-chance/robbery character like Marissa or SF5 Oro. Once she has you poisoned a single touch can do game-winning damage, and her zoning tools are *really bad* for zoning: She has the worst fireball in the game and her whips are unsafe and vulnerable to drive impact.
Here's an unhinged suggestion: Make Aki SA2 cover the WHOLE damn screen in poison pool. I wanna see chaos.
that'd be a very annoying anti perfect tool
I can’t stop laughing lmfao
The whole stage
@@zerevity007 Fuck em
As a not aki player I approve of this. Lv 2s that radically alter the state of play are interesting
This video was so explanative. I learning AKI at the moment, if this video was 1h long I would’ve watched it all.

I have never heard of this

Nephew was doing this like a beast with Juri lvl1 at capcom cup.

How about making it so where if you hold the button with Slide you end in coward crouch stance instead of standing up?

Make Aki Lv2 fully Projectile invincible
You should do this with a high ranking modern AKI to see if there's anything different going on there.
I don't even play aki and I felt myself taking notes. Great video, very informative.
Will there be more Hikaru movie night? I love watch you breakdown different play style
learned something new today about the crouching exclusive perfect parry triple jab after stand MP. Very cool!
It's nice to watch someone with such deep character knowledge. You can only get that from playing a lot with a character, thx 4 sharing bro(ski).

Make Aki SA2 one shot Luke, thanks Capcom!
7:14 Actually didn't know that. A lot of GBVSR channels are strating to do longer sets now so I guess I gotta keep it in mind now.
I like these vids a lot. I watch hikaru here and there as well i like learning optimizations and tech from others.
After forward throw dr and the opponent back rolls you should be able to get Dr st mp the forward momentum pushes Aki further.
aki stans so well fed today 😤🙏💜✨️☣️💀💖
Love me some AKI content
Would it be op to make 2mk special cancelable
And make spiral and or leval 2 projectile invincible on frame one and maybe for the intier duration
Thanks for the breakdown, that was very educational!
Did we learn anything?!
What kind of archetype is Aki? Its like a setup right cuz I cant pinpoint her playstyle

CAPCOM meant her to be tricky ranged but all AKI players play her close range.
