I remember putting my purple/pink duo pan eyeshadow colors, mostly the purple on m cheeks to match my eyes in the eighties. I really liked the way it made my skin look. I might have to give purple blush a nostalgic try!
I am fair skinned and I actually have used one of the lightest shades in the Juvia's Place "The Violets" eyeshadow palette as blush. The pans are big enough to swipe or swirl a blush brush in them. That palette has medium and darker toned violets as well, that could be used as blush on different skin tones.
Purple has always been a favorite makeup color for me. Your editing skills are wonderful - so nice of you to include the color wheel and skin shade range samples with the different shades of purple. This kind of detail in your video really helps when we're shopping in stores with dismal lighting. Thanks Zabrena!
I have always migrated toward purple/mauve shades for eyes, cheeks, and lips - or at least shade thereof. I love a raspberry lip with the purple eye shadows! Gorgeous on fair skin!
Thats is so interesting. I never would have thought those colours would suit my pale skin. I definitely want to try the Nars and the Clinique blushes. Thanks Zabrena
I've found that purple blushes end up giving me more of that natural sunburn look. Lorac's Ultraviolet is my favorite! I bought one for my mom and it took her a while to even try it because she was so scared of it. She eventually tried it and now she's in LOVE too! ❤❤❤
@@imjustanasshlesometimes3488 it's so good! I was never really into blush because they all just looked odd on me, imo. Several years ago, when I got more into color theory and mixing, I tried UV. Now I love trying different purple shades of blush and mixing my own. But I always go back to my Lorac UV. 💜
I can vouch for the about face “score” blush being absolutely stunning on fair skin. Also a tip for those that want a statement purple blush paired with colorful (or neutral if you prefer) eyes: use a neon yellow or bright yellow in your inner corner. Purple and yellow are opposites (complimentary colors) on the color wheel as Zabrena said, so the yellow will really bring out that purple blush!
I am obsessed with how beautiful my melanin sisters looked with purple!! Those models looked like goddesses. I’m still going to try on my pasty self because I LOVE color and have surprisingly never leaned in the purple family. Thanks for the provocation Zabrena… I can’t wait for tomorrow morning ❤ I’ll start with a purple shadow😝
Goodies morning Zabrena, your lips are stunning with your overall makeup 😊 How colors changes in a blink, purple is the in-color even in outfits. Have a lovely weekend 😎
I can confirm the Glossier Wisp is a great color for the lilac trend. I love the MAC “succumb to plum” lip, which is a lot like Heroine, in just a less matte formula. I would also highly recommend Keracolor conditioner in purple- think overtone, but curly girl friendly and it builds intensity the more you use it.
purple is my go to color for fall/winter. Nars sin looks beautiful on light to med/dark skin cheeks. Run a little through your crease and done. Milk makeup lip and cheek in quickie is nice too. Its meant for med/dark skin but I find it works well on cheeks with a light touch and so nice on lips
Loving the purple lipstick on you - you are totally rocking it. I have a purple blush by Nyx called fig and it is very flattering and looks great with mauve toned lipsticks 😊
This reminds of when the color of the year was orchid. 🙂 I have a lipstick from that time that I pair with a Lethal Cosmetics blush that is lilac in tone to great effect.
I have the same skin tone as Zabrena, plus a natural flush I don't want to hide. I used to have a very hard time finding a blush color to work with my natural color, until I found a purple toned blush. Mine is the Hourglass Ambient blush in Mood Exposure. It's a very subtle color, and works perfectly for me. It also lasts forever ... I bought a mini a few years back, wear it every day I wear makeup, and am very far from pan.
It took me years to find blush that didn't look weird on me, and learning how to wear it the correct way helped too. I want to try this color, too, but have always been afraid to.
*Blush Combo* . I'm 56, light-medium skin tone. I would consider myself neutral-cool and I need color on the cheeks. I've been using Elf Putty Blush in Bora Bora and topping it with Clinique Black Honey Pop. I wear Black Honey on the lips and smudge a bit of the Black Honey blush on the outer V of the eye. I may have to pick up the Pansy, very pretty!
I've been on the hunt for purple blush for well over a year. So many times when I've ordered based on a pic online the color I received was just not the same. Many were not even close! And then also some that were a decent lavender/purple color in the pan turned out to be basically pink on the cheek when applied. My quest continues and I very much appreciate this video and your purple perspectives. 💜
Purple blush is STUNNING! Looks great with chocolately-brown lipstick and black lipstick too. If you're a "I have FIVE MINUTES to do my face" girl, try swirling it on the cheeks, swipe it on the lid, throw bronzer in the crease, on the nose and forehead, curl the lashes and grab your lip balm out the door.
I’ve been having a hard time finding blushes that look good on me and I’ve never really thought about trying a purple blush, so I’m so excited to try this
Hm I never thought I could wear purple blush but I think I may give this a try! Could you point me to a good drug store purple blush? Do they exist? Are they any good?
I have the same Clinique blush, but it leans pink on me. My favorite purple blush is a Juicy Pang blush by Apieu in the shade VL03. It is so pretty and natural looking.
I got a blush trio several years ago in my ipsy bag and one of the shades was purple. I actually loved it when I tried it. Out of the trio it’s the one I used the most. I was shocked how pretty it was on my skin.
About face cream purple blush is one of my favorites and I have fair skin. highly recommend. Also if you are afraid to buy a purple blush try a purple eyeshadow first to see if you like it.
I highly recommend two from Gabriel Cosmetics’ Zuzu Lux line: Haze and Nymph. Both are super wearable. Haze is a deeper, raspberry color with some neutral tone to it, and Nymph is a pinkish violet with a very fine reflect. I like to take a sheer, cream blush like Milani’s Nude Kiss and apply the Nymph on top. It is an amazing look that gives a lot of color while appearing to be super natural at the same time. It looks great on fair skin, but would be a gorgeous highlight or topper on deeper skin tones. The Haze could work on anyone as their blushes are buildable.
I just bought LORAC Color Source Buildable Blush in "Ultraviolet" and I love it! I am very fair and this is a true cool-toned purple that looks so pretty. It is not a "pink masquerading as a purple" as someone I know has said before :)
This was a great, timely video. Of those I watch, no one talks about purple blush. i remember back in the late sixties, when I finally earned enough money to afford department store cosmetics and you could get advise from a consultant. The Clinique rep advised a purple toned blush because it created a very natural flush. And it did. I wore it for years until I switched to Bare Minerals Glee (which I still have and wear). Purple may be trendy now but It has been around and beautiful for a long time.
I am medium tone with some purple undertone. I recently found an awesome purplish to me blush. It’s L'Oreal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Blush Powder - 0.31oz In #15 Legendary Berry. Thanks for your videos! 💜
I'm a purple blush lover from way back, the more purple and the deeper, the better. I've got Pansy and have been eyeing that Lorac shade and the deeper Rare Beauty shades too. Too bad Tarte discontinued their beautiful mauve-y lavender shade, Fairy Wings or something-- I have it and it's lovely.
Happy Birthday Zabrena! I hope you had a wonderful birthday with your loved ones! You look beautiful with purple blush and that gorgeous purple lipstick! You work the purple color so much and it really brings out your features beautifully! I would llove to see you have more purple colored eye makeup and lipstick tutorials!💜🎂
The lip liner color is incorrect in the description box. Just a heads up! I recently got the new lilac purple cream blush from Honest Beauty, and I've been loving it. So good!
I have pale skin and have been into purple blushes for a while now. The one that I’ve really liked lately is called Lavender Pop by Jaclyn Cosmetics. I got it half off during an Ulta sale. It looks deeper in the pan than it applies, but wow is it a nice pop of lavender violet on the face. And it doesn’t look like too much on me (which is easy to do on my skin tone).
I've been watching you for years I think you are beautiful! thank you for including us dark deep skin sisters with the color of blushes that helps a lot and I hope to see more for us
I do have the Rare beauty blush in Faith. I also have Patrick Ta's 2 newest blushes and the Make Up by Mario one. These will be my go to in the Fall and Winter.
I love purple everything!!! Eyes, lips, cheeks, it's a great color😊
I remember putting my purple/pink duo pan eyeshadow colors, mostly the purple on m cheeks to match my eyes in the eighties. I really liked the way it made my skin look. I might have to give purple blush a nostalgic try!
Essence baked blush in goldy cassis is another beautiful purple blush
I think purple blush is pretty💜💙
The lip color you’re wearing is just gorgeous and it looks great on you!
I have green eyes, so I love purple everything. Love the purple lip on you.
I love your lippie too

Great idea❤
I have been wondering if I could swing that, thanks for the tip. I am going to look at that☺️
@@prrsroses2547 You're welcome.
ooh Ive done that before
They are!!! I bought the pink and mauve Juvias place eyeshadow palettes, and the pans are the size of most blush pans.
Love Violet blush
Wow beautiful

You're so pretty Zabrena! Thanks for sharing all your good makeup tips and tricks with us ❤❤❤❤
Reminds me of some makeup i had in the 90s ( revlon i think). Love it. Hopefully some drugstore brands deliver soon.

Way back in 1985 I got covergirl' s purely plum blush trio loved it as you get a blush ,contour and highlight in one pallet
I love the idea of having purple on my cheeks so I'm going to check it out🎉
The Essence Pure Nude blush in Goldy Cassis is a fantastic choice for fair to medium skin tones
Yes! I'm very fair skinned and that's such a beautiful blush.
I've found that purple blushes end up giving me more of that natural sunburn look. Lorac's Ultraviolet is my favorite! I bought one for my mom and it took her a while to even try it because she was so scared of it. She eventually tried it and now she's in LOVE too! ❤❤❤
I just got that shade and love it.

Ooo- thanks for the tip! I’ve been considering adding it to my Ulta cart!
I just received the Essence Baked Blush in Goldy Cassis and I can't wait to try it! It says "Nude" but leans a little purple.
Omgosh! Purple blush is everything! That Clinique Pansy Pop blush, and the About Face purple blush are so beautiful!!! Love, love, love it!
Essence Pure Nude Baked Blush in the shade “Goldy Cassis” is a gorgeous lavender/purple blush that is amazing!

Awww no drugstore options??
That blush and lip color are gorgeous on you.
I really love the pinky purple/mauve Nyx sweet cheeks liquid blush in Baby Doll. It’s a great shade that goes with most looks and you can build it.
Thank you! I really like a lot of Nyx products and it's afforable enough for me to give it a try.
Menagerie Bearberry and Blueberry...very pigmented. They do really unusual shades.

I love purple 💜 I will try the purples you mentioned for fair skin . Thank You !!
Another beautiful look!! I remember these colors in the 80s and loved them!! All things circle around!!❤❤

It washes off f so have fun! 😊
You look beautiful no matter what colors you wear 🥰
I do miss your colorful eyeshadow looks.
Yes. I need a purple blush. I have a purple lipstick I bought, and it needs a nice purple, pinkish blush to match. Thank you.

Lorac's Ultraviolet is amazing! It's my favorite, most used blush. I only buy shades of purple now. Pinks and peachy shades always looked odd on me.
same!!!!
I love my Tom Ford blush in Gratuitous, it's a soft purply color😍
Urban Decay Bittersweet was the best!
Love everything purple, plum, mauve etc! Thx!
I have a medium skin tone and I love the Honest Beauty crème cheek & lip color in Lush Lilac 💜
Thanks for providing tips for different skin tones ❤
Purple 💜 looks nice on you 😊
I just bought the Clinique color pop blush in pansy…. Looks so beautiful on my light olive skin. Never had more compliments!
I love using NYX powder puff Lippie Will Power on my cheeks. Beautiful lavender color 💜

Pinstripe In Stain blush from The Balm is my favorite!
I love Mac Heroine. It looks gorgeous on you!
Love purple blush
I haven't found a purple blush. Now I'm on the hunt. It is so hard to find a nice purple lipstick. If you know of any, let us know.
