Enjoying the start of Sukkot! Then church on Sunday. Nothing earth shattering but I am glad to be home after a week of work. 😊 Blessings on your rest, dear Zabrena!
I have a great tip for under eye concealer! After moisturizing, Tap a thin layer of setting spray before concealer ~then set your concealer with another thin coat of setting spray with the finger. Game changer for me, I’m 46 and now no more cakey under eyes! You have to try❤ much love💕
Much like the highlighter placement you mentioned, I place my blush on the back, upper part of my cheeks rather than the apples of my cheeks. Placing blush near the temples gives my face a lifted look.
I have to applaud the mascara technique! 👏 I’ve heard so, so many people recommend that you allow the first mascara to completely dry before applying the second mascara. This has never worked for me! This causes me to lose whatever curl I managed to capture and I get massive flakes all over…😓 I always leave comments about this but no one responds or they just say, “Everyone is different.” I always apply a lengthening mascara after a voluminous one. I, like you, always do this before the mascara can completely dry! The curl is not disturbed and no flaking. 😊❤
Many years ago, when I bought the Lancome Cils Booster lash primer, the makeup artist told me to not let it dry before applying mascara over top. Layer mascara over top of the "wet" primer. That way you won't get clumping. I do the same even if I'm not using a primer. I never let mascara dry between coats. I just keep building until I get the desired thickness. It makes all the difference. You get nice separation and no clumps!
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve switched to using a drop of foundation for my cheeks and forehead and a swish of setting powder. And now that you mention it, you do look younger with less coverage. I need to try that highlighter technique.
@tanyad7073 Aaaww thank you! yes, I hear ya my 40s have proven to make me reevaluate my makeup/ makeup routine .... the same old things don't seem to be working as well 😕 😆
I purchased from Amazon, the Bare August foot file and O’Keefe’s Healthy Feet foot cream. After I get out of the shower or bath, I use the file. The amount of dead skin it removes is crazy! I rinsed my feet, dried, added the O’Keefe’s foot cream and put on my socks. In less then 2 weeks, my heels look 1000 times better then they ever had! If your heels are really bad, it may take longer but I promise you, the results will shock you! Soaking your feet in Epsom salts before using the foot file will also help loosen the dead skin. I wish I would’ve known about this at the beginning of summer before sandal season! I plan to keep it up during the winter too. I’m in the Midwest, so we can get some really cold weather that dries out your feet and hands.
At 56 I've learned first youthful secret is keeping skin clean and moisturized. Also it doesn't matter what kind of foundation I use , once I apply I let it sit before blending well. Dark black liners are a no no , I get more compliments on lighter shades of anything ( with exception of lipstick).
I wanted to reemphasize something you said that I think is the key to looking younger. Go softer with ALL of your makeup. There is nothing more aging than harsh lines. Blend, smudge, and use more natural colors to enhance what you have. And take care of your skin. This 64 yo grandma loves your videos Zabrena! ❤️
Oh my gosh Zabrena, the tip about highlights in your hair makes such a difference. I just turned 60 but I don't feel 60. My hair is blonde but I noticed more and more grey creeping in around the edges. Yesterday I got my haircut and highlights added and it made me feel so much better.😁 Thank you for the terrific videos. Sending XOXO's ❤❤❤❤
I got highlights in my dark brown hair to help hide the grey (well, more like white 🙄). I'm in my 50s, but I don't feel like I am, and I didn't want to look that way either! I was very happy how much it helped. I'm glad it worked for you, too!
@@asparklylife3965 I don't know if it makes me a bad person to be a little vain about not wanting to look older than I feel... I hear God's very forgiving😁 I'm happy it made you feel better too. Sending XOXOXOX's ❤❤❤
This weekend … I switch out my colour pallet every April 1 and Oct. 1. Right now I have my blush pillows and throws and other little accents in the living room. Come Sunday that gets switched out for mustard coloured accessories.
In order to have a youthful look, a good skin care routine is an absolute must! Make sure you remove your makeup at night. I regret all the years I didn’t do this! I quit using makeup wipe’s because they dry my skin out. I use a hydrating cleanser and a makeup remover cloth. A good moisturizer with hyaluronic acid helps plump the skin which in turn, diminishes fine lines that will help you look more youthful! If you do nothing else, this will make a difference in your appearance. Adding a retinol, vitamin C and a good SPF to your skincare routine is very beneficial. I’m 59 and my skin looks better then when I was in my 40’s. I’ve been taking better care of my skin for the last 6 years and it has made a huge difference! Also, whatever you put on your face, put on your neck, chest and the backs of your hands! 🙂
My tip is to only put mascara on your top lashes. This seems to open up my eyes and prevents any mascara from collecting underneath the eyes. Yes, I know there are ways to stop that...for most people... and I have probably tried them all (plus I wear waterproof), but it still happens. That darkness makes you look older. Using lots of powder isnt' practical as it sits in the fine lines and creates crepe-y, super dry looking skin under the eyes.
I really agree with the scent/perfume one too. For me, heavy flower scents like Rose, really remind me of old ladies 😅 (used to work in a home for the elderly as a student 😝 it always seemed the ladies smelled of heavy rose scented perfumes)
Thank you sweetheart. Im sure im one of your older viewers. So what I do now is place my blush, bronzer and Contour a touch higher on my face. It works pretty well for myself. Blessings to all 🌎🕊
I like to contour my lips with a darker color on the outer corners of my lips filling in about a third of the way, then using a lighter color filling in the bow and center of my bottom lip. Then top it off with a gloss. This makes my lips look fuller than what they really are. 😊❤️💄
Primer before foundation and or concealer makes a huge difference! I like the poreless putty primer from elf cosmetics as it hides fine lines. Blush is a must! I use a red lipstick and blend plus you can use it under your eye concealer and get rid of dark under eye circles.
I enjoyed your video very much! ❤️ Sharing a few good tips for looking youthful from a 53 year old beauty junkie 😅 - Tint your brows every 4 weeks! As we age our brow hair loses color, some hairs even become white. Tinting my brows every 4 weeks makes them look incredibly youthful and brings out my eyes even when I’m not wearing makeup. I use TintoCils, it’s made for tinting brows and lashes. - For brightening eyes I always use a drop of Lumify in each eye before applying my skincare. Lumify is ok to use daily, it’s not like the older eye drops where some people got rebound redness. - Use eyeshadow as a lower lash liner instead of eyeliner. It really softens my eye looks and makes them look very youthful. - I’m a huge fan of the L’Oréal Age Perfect 4-in-1 foundation balm. It’s sheer-to-medium coverage, lots of firming skincare ingredients, and no sunscreen - which I prefer as I don’t like the flat shiny finish of titanium dioxide in foundation. I use a separate sunscreen underneath. - Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Moisturizer SPF30 is my fave daily sunscreen. The texture is chef’s kiss under makeup. - I love the blush draping trend. A little subtle pinky-nude blush fluffed on the bridge of the nose and the upper cheeks makes me look like I spent the weekend outdoors 😅it looks a lot more youthful than doing the same with bronzer.
I dye my eyebrows too, but use the stuff for men's beards. Makes a total difference. Another tip with coloring eyebrows, don't go too dark, it will make you look older and harsh.
@@DiEtta I wear the eau de toillette and it needs to be made in France. One time my husband bought me a bottle while in a different country and it smelled different.
Whiter teeth helps you look younger. I just bought Crest White Strips with a light. You use the strips for an hour followed by the light for five minutes. You do this for 10 consecutive days. Works great! You can do this twice a year.
I'm 41, and I routinely get clocked for my late 20s. Part of that is genetic, which I obviously have no control over, but the other part is I take care of my skin. I wear SPF 100 on my face, neck, and decolletage every day, I drink between 2 and 3L of water, and I don't smoke. That goes a long, long way to making me seldom need anything more than a tinted moisturizer when I want to make myself look a bit more put together.
Eyelashes! Never used to have to curl ‘em. 🙄 Best lash curler for tiny old lady eyes (I wasn’t very big even when I was young!)? Hand’s down this: Revlon Gold Series Eyelash Curler, Titanium Coated. I did research!
Arghhh I feel your comment! I LOVE a dark smokey eye but last time I wore it, I felt like "man, this is too much" and ended up taking it off! I felt like it made my eyes look heavy :( I still love it but man that was an awakening moment!
Hi there! Really think you lovely autumn background hits the mark. Our trees are definitely turning here in northern Michigan. I love this time of year but it goes too quickly. I had read once where a deep green did the same with eyes...any thoughts? Enjoyed this particular video so much! Thanks and blessings. 🦋💗🐈🐘
Lipstick color? My once warm/neutral color palette (used to be a natural redhead), is now neutral/neutral to cool/neutral. Whatever color I use needs to pull blue (which also makes my teeth look whiter - kind of like the whites of the eyes/blue liner). Purple, even bright purple (which pulls blue, not yellow) looks fabulous!
More eyeliner tips: 1. keep the blue (I mostly use eyeshadow though I do have pencils) Out of the lower waterline. What looked Fabulous in youth simply makes your eyes look smaller. 2. That outer third? Nope! I do the middle third as, at 70, I’ve got some droopy going on. Give an honest look in the mirror and figure out the best start/stop for both upper and lower for your own eyes. It is still Ok to waterline And ‘regular’ line on the upper - as long as you don’t overdo it. (I Love overdoing, but alas . . ) 3. If you are single (I am widowed), be careful of looking too [age appropriate] glam (yes, a little extra is fine for ‘an occasion) as it’s all too easy to look desperate!!! It’s ok to ‘overdo a bit if you have a regular date. The bottom line is, I want to look my fabulous best - not pathetic !! Do I preach? 😬
What you said about wearing glam and looking desperate is so strange...I've noticed people your age saying this, but I just don't get it...nor do I want you to explain it either. Times have changed...if someone wants to wear glam to the grocery store, go for it!! Life's too short~ we should be enjoying it as much as possible, and not worrying about outdated mindsets.
We should wear glam whenever and wherever we choose, and at any age. Wearing glam doesn’t make anyone look “desperate” 🙄. Perhaps that’s just your own personal judgement you place on people. When I see an older woman looking glam I’m so happy for her that she is taking the time to pamper, and appreciate herself. I’m older, and single, and I wear glam any time I feel great. 😊 I don’t wear it to pick up a man, I wear it to feel pretty for myself. I do not care if someone thinks I look desperate. Although, I don’t think normal people think that about other people.
I love Matt lip color but am finding that gloss brightens my face more. I recently tried Maybelline Lifter Gloss and it’s thicker formula actually stays on and comes in great colors. I am currently using Rust a beautiful fall color has little shimmer of gold ( not glitter) Thank you so much for the tips which I will give a try. ❤️
Great tips! I have good results applying a light layer of concealer under my eyes before foundation then another light layer after I finish my face then blot with a tissue. Works great for me!
I’m here for any youthful tips! I’m turning 57 on Nov 25th & i feel like my skin has suddenly turned into a wrinkled prune. I know it’s not true, but it really feels like it. I’ve started using tinted moisturizers instead of foundations because the foundations seem to settle into fine lines & just overall makes me look older. I bought the BareMinerals serum foundation, but it didn’t work for me at all. It settled into lines on my face I didn’t even know I had; before I could get the rest of my makeup done. I tried it with different primers, w/o primers, powder, etc & nothing worked, so I’m returning it. 😢
The highlighter on the temple? I missed that phase. I go straight for lightly dusted white eyeshadow where I ‘sink in.’ Melt it with damp sponge. The highlighter goes really near there. Mirror!
The biggest things that have helped me, sunscreen use daily, niacinamide, retinol and lots of moisturizer at night. It's not too late to start. Instead of black eyeliner, use gray or some other softer color. I also only use eyeliner on the top just underneath my eyelashes. (Tight line.) I blink onto my finger to make sure none has gotten too far into my top waterline otherwise I end up with racoon eyes. This makes sure that you don't use up whatever remaining eyelid you have showing to eyeliner. I also don't use dark color eyeshadow, nice and bright helps my eyes seem more open.
I stop applying lip liner to the corner of my lips a long time ago. I also apply my lip liner slightly above my natural lip line on my bottom lip because my lip is beginning to sag. Great video. 💞💞
Hi Zabrena, thank you for sharing all these wonderful tips, these things help me lots of sleep !!!, lots of relaxation (doing something that brings you joy) & lots of water helps me, also try less alcohol for a few months may help, lots of laughter, watch a comedy show (Wanda Sykes),this weekend my daughter &I had mother/ daughter day , some lunch, some shopping , best day ever. Love Katherine xoxo
I have very hooded eyes and when doing my eyeliner, I rub the left index finger (I'm a righty) in powder so that I can stretch the eye and the concealer/makeup immediately under the eye doesn't rub off my face when I remove it, after doing my wing. I'm going to try with highlighter to see if it gives me the lift effect! Thank you! I also use the cover of the liner to kinda pull down on bottom lid so I can put liner in the waterline. Again, this is to prevent the transfer of concealer/makeup.
What colour of eyeliner would you recommend for me with blue sclera and brown eyes. My sclera is blue because I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) which is an inherited (genetic) bone disorder. It is also known as brittle bone disease. Which eyeliner colour would be the best for me. Blue eyeliner, brown eyeliner or black eyeliner? Thank you for your recommendations and tips I really appreciate it. 😊💕
I love all your wonderful tips, I have Clinique moisture surge tint. I love this tint as it is skin care and colour - just perfect and I get high lights, it does make u look refreshed 😊
Hi Zabrena, Thank you so much for your content, happiness and so much more, you are a very sweet person. Please continue this way ❤️🤗 god bless you all.
Great tips! I am 51 and my skin is on the drier side so I have to keep a good skincare routine to keep hydrated and moisturized. I especially take time with eye cream. I wear very little concealer and even less powder to set it. One thing I learned (and learned fast!) was with powder, less is more! Do not bake and go very very light with setting powder AND only if you need it 😊 love you and your content. You look beautiful btw 💖💕 have a great weekend!
have not watched your channel in while and wanted to thank you for your encouraging Godly words at end of video. As I study the Bible more I am learning our words are very important and we need to speak wise Godly things. God bless!

Hi Z! All of these tips were very helpful! What color of the Revlon under eye concealer you used? The Joah under eye concealer I definitely purchase again Z you and all your family are in my prayers. The other tips about hair style was wonderful. I would love to hear more tips about anti-aging. Love you Z!! 💜💜💜💋💋👄👄🙏🙏
Hi. Long, long, long time subscriber. I have loved watching your videos over the years but have never left a comment. ❤ I saw a clever hack on some random video. While curling the lashes, tilt the inner end of the curler down while continuing to press and release. The lashes curl beautifully and the outer lashes flare out and lift really well. Then brush the lashes with a spoolie or lash comb to separate them before applying mascara. It looks very natural without clumping.
I have under eye wrinkles I take my highlighter to under my eye socket, use absolutely no concealer, and hydrate the skin. My eyes sink in instead of puff, and I don't have major dark circles so I don't need to conceal that much. The highlight draws the eye away from the wrinkles and the hydration helps plump up the skin.
I use Missha's M perfect BB cream and get a lot of compliments from women at work, usually older women, asking what I use. I also love Daisy so I'm happy to hear that's a younger scent haha.
Well , it much going on in my neck of the woods! Did go to the flea market! And ate at a nice local owned restaurant! Watching the Auburn Georgia ball game!
Hey hey! Who has some awesome plans this weekend? I'm stuck at home, let me live vicariously through YOU! Hahahaha!
I wish I could tell you I am doing something amazing, but I am just working. Lol
By the way, you inspired me to become an esthetician so I can learn about the skin and makeup.

I’m definitely trying this! I have terrible under eye crinkles. Haha what’s setting spray and concealer do you prefer. Drug store brand if ya got one.
Which one do you use? A couple I've purchased in the past were like hair spray on the skin--- an icky, dried Elmers glue-like feel.

@@dreamscape405 Frankly, I agree with you … you do you!
I like your concealer tips! I’m still working out the adaptations for 70+ skin. 🤗
Finishing up a trip in Italy for 25th wedding anniversary. 🥰
Thank you all the tips especially for the highlighter. When I apply it the traditional way it highlights the fine lines around my eyes. ❤
Mirror!
Great tips 😀 please share the hair care products that you use.
Thank you for the tips. I have green eyes so will the navy eyeliner still work and not wash out my green?
Zabrena, what color do you use on your hair? It is just GORGEOUS! I totally agree with highlights! I am stuck at home too. Just had knee surgery.
Anyone else save this video for reference in a personal playlist to come back to time and time again?
Yes! I just finished the download! 👍
Hi Zebrena! I was just wondering what shade of Red Hair Color that you have on your Hair in This video?
Great video, great tips.
Have a fantastic weekend.
God bless💜
@Zabtena, great video & tips. Love your background. I've in tbe last 4 years started to like & enjoying Clinique Happy line.
Hi you are so sweet! I find that too much eyeshadow in crease makes my eyes sunken. Lighter is better!Good highlighter rip!

YAY! Me toooo! Is Fall your favorite season?!?
I saw a clever hack on some random video. While curling the lashes, tilt the inner end of the curler down while continuing to press and release. The lashes curl beautifully and the outer lashes flare out and lift really well. Then brush the lashes with a spoolie or lash comb to separate them before applying mascara. It looks very natural without clumping.
Zebrena your makeup 💄 is aways beautiful!
Wrinkles, mature skin. I love plexaderm...my tip
Love the tips. I am 45 years old sooooo I so excited to try them. Thank you!
sunscreen and shae butter for me
I love your videos ❤ Your tips and tricks are so worth the watch. I think I am going to buy a few Sephora must haves this weekend 😊
Rephyr has a good eyelash curler.
What shade of the Revlon Illuminance Foundation are you using? It's on my list to try.
I use a little hemi squalene under my eyes let it soak up then I dot holika holika good cera the purple box let that sink in before concealer.
Great video Zabrena. have a great weekend too.
Love your content ❤
LOVE your channel!
Love your channel. I really was hoping you could help me find a dupe for madrigal by Lisa Eldridge it’s always sold out.
