Exactlyyyy! I have seen all other youtubers just absolutely say big NO to this product and I'm like, please try to make it work at least ;-; Most of them went in with a very heavy hand as well, seems like they had their mind already set on not liking the shade. Although I have seen a few instagram reviews saying mahogany is stunning, so thats some positive reviews there!
@Neri it's an ugly color, whether you're light or dark skinned. It's got no rosy or reddish undertones which give the skin a natural flush. That's the point of blush. It's the color of dirt which no one wants on their face. Might as well use a dark cool toned bronzer as blush.
@@Alex-tk7gh Oh it can look quite intimidating in the packaging (although I am drawn to that color), maybe you can try it? 😊 I will try mine soon when it arrives. I have seen a few reviews saying this color eventually changed to a more rosy color. However, to each their own, everyone had a preference in the end.

Those "sculpting" blushes!! Oh my goodness! I could watch a video on just sculpting blushes! Or just any special FX blushes. Plumping blushes, bronzing blushes, sculpting blushes- it's crazy the effects you can have depending on the blush.
The Mario blushes powder down super nicely! I did also find them dewy enough that my hair sticks in the wind, they are otherwise incredible. I reeeeeally am trying to resist the urge to go buy the Saie pink glow for a cool toned highlight 👀

I love the new Mario blushes so much that I now have 5 shades. They look so beautiful on mature skin. On a side note, Mario recommends applying them OVER powder. I am curious if the Saie blushes show texture a lot or not. I passed on the Tarte blushes since they have that ph adjuster in them. You’ve def made me more interested in the Urban Decay blushes. So my problem with the Dior Mahogany is that it looks patchy to me. I saw that when others tried it and I found that when I tried it in store. I do love the Rosewood and the Berry and the Pink is still my favorite. I do like the Makeup by Mario, but my favorite lately is Persona Teddy. Have you tried that? It is really beautiful. Lauren Mae Beauty recommended it. Finally, as much as I love NARS (especially their foundation and concealer), I really prefer cream blushes (in sticks and pots) rather than liquid ones. I almost never reach for those in a tube or with a want applicator.
Oh I've been waiting for you or Kackie or Julia to do the Saie blush glow sculpt whatevers! I think those look stunning! I'm usually into the peachy shades but the peach in the mario blush didn't look that great on me (and sadly I'm not thrilled with the blushing shade either, it's too light for my complexion, maybe a winter blush)...but the Saie seems to be a tad more pink-peach, so idk... I'm in love with the Mauve and Bronze glow colors but I spent 90 on blush for the NARS and Mario Blushes last week... and so I don't want to be disappointed again! Thank you for this video, Amanda!! And I'll honestly watch whatever you put up so... there ya go (haha I'm not any help, sorry!) ❤

This _was_ fun. Take care of your skin first, but yeah I am down for more. It was interesting that despite what should have been a detriment, coming after several MU removals, certain products still stood out. Treat yourself and your skin to some fruit water and chill 🎵. You both deserve it!

I love the colour of Rosewood the most on you and Mahagony gives me this nuance although it’s just brown - I guess formula is quite great. Nothing else picked my interest colourwise but UD blush sounds like something I can be worth trying (once they add some either neutral or hopefully desaturated). Thanks for the video ❤
I think the nars have a staining quality, so maybe that's why it wouldn't play well once it was blended with a brush? I am not sure but I think that is maybe why? Also I would love to see a best of K beauty video :)
Also a PSA: the new Dior Rosy Glow blush in the coral shade is NOT THE SAME as the old version. I am so glad I found one in the old silver box because the new formula is a chalky powdery dusty mess!!!
Everyone is probably scared to use the Mahogany blush because they've watched the same reviews I did, where it looked like actual mud on every fair to medium skin tone 😅 That said, you actually did make it work beautifully somehow! Just be prepared, in case you get angry DMs from caucasian viewers who bought it because of your recommendation 😅
Funny I also saw bad reviews from black girls who didn't like the color. And most of the complaints I see about influencers who didnt like this particular shade are from white commenters. Just maybe that color is not the most flattering on anyone. Its straight up brown. Reminds me of potting soil.
@@Alex-tk7gh I saw just one review from a black reviewer and she seemed to like it. That is only one though. I think all shades are supposed to adjust somewhat to the moisture in the skin, so that brown too gets a reddish undertone. I assumed it was the equivalent to the more common lighter nude blush on deep skin but if it didn't get good reviews, maybe there's a reason why deep nudes such as this one are so rare. But I wouldn't really know, I'm as fair as Amanda
@@cccsssish I guess that right there "they really want to like it" is my issue with makeup products these days. Not everything is meant for everyone and not liking it is perfectly ok. It seems to me like people feel this pressure nowadays to like products that are not flattering on them for the sake of supporting more inclusive colors. This color in my opinion is just not pretty at all. I'm light Mexican, by the way. It's not the darkness in the shade that makes it unwearable, it's the undertones. Plum Berry from Honest Beauty is very dark, and I love it with a light hand. And it would look gorgeous on dark skin.

I'm immediately turned off by Makeup By Mario's Soft Plump Blush. I know a lot of people like the bronzer version that released last year (skin enhancer), but I don't like how it doesn't set. It has a very light coverage and dewy texture that you can feel on the skin surface and easily rubs/wears off (I still have to wear masks weekly). I'd much rather opt for a bronzer & blush product that has longevity and sets down so I don't feel the texture--and therefore throughout my day I don't have to worry, check my makeup, or fuss about whether the product has been disturbed or worn off. I also find these Makeup by Mario bronzer & blush formulas don't look great through the screen (picture or video) or in reviews--to me, they only look good when observed in person and worn with a no-makeup look (this minimal no-makeup look is where they shine, because they're so faint & blend seamlessly into the skin). I'd rather just use a good quality stain, cream or powder bronzer & blush product that works in all scenarios (long lasting, sets down so I can't feel it & it isn't fussy, looks great whether in-person/photos/daylight/nightime, etc) rather than being limited.
Dior destroyed the eyeshadow quints they are not as shiny and pretty as they use to be. Are u going to review the new formula. I got Nars dolce Vita and I don't really care for it , it doesn't show up on med tan akin

I actually use a long floppy goat hair brush & it works beautifully. I agree that the key is to be light handed.
