    I have seen so many amazing paintings today☺ I am very picky when it comes to color and the mixing of it. Usually its kind of hard to find paintings that I really love, when it comes to technique and the choice of colors together. Yet today and last night, I have found 4 paintings that I absolutely adore. The technique as well as the colors together. So happy😘 Your Art is stunning btw....

      I have a friend who does the acrylic pouring and some of her results are amazing. But this is absolutely stunning! I had my phone propped up against a pillow while I was watching you create this beautiful piece. One of my cats hopped up on the bed. She stopped dead still and started watching you work. She especially liked it when you made a big sweeping lines. After a while she tucked her paws under herself and watched the whole 24 minutes. Occasionally she would reach out and touch the screen. She's never shown any interest in a video before. She was completely entranced. Thank you for sharing your talent with those of us who can only wish we could do what you do.

I see so many similarities to my plants in your pours . I watch as lines unfold into gorgeous leaves and such. Look forward to your next pour 😊

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  6 лет назад

      She used all listed below. I mixed all my colors 1:1 Ratio with Floetrol. I added treadmill lubricant to all my squeeze bottles except white and black (the black was only for the back ground) so I would say the answer to your question is just plain black no gesso.

    Oh Sandra, how beautiful your work...I thank you for this demo, you did a great job, a real true natural you are.! Tell me Sandra, could I use a heat gun on acrylic that is mixed with glicerin or was sthat glicerin that you used. What exactly is Floetrol.?
    Keep up the GREAT work..!

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  6 лет назад

      Herbalistics 9 yes I use heat gun on regular acrylic pours, but not on this style. It does not need it. Floetrol or Owatrol is on Amazon. You can find Floetrol at Lowe's or Home Depot or some hardware stores in US. Owatrol is only from Amazon. They are paint conditioners created to add to latex or acrylic paint to make them more fluid. I use treadmill lubricant (100%) silicone which I ordered on Amazon but you can find at any hardware store or like Wal-Mart. Thanks for watching

    • @mitchellwintercat
      @mitchellwintercat 6 лет назад +1

      you do mean, treadmill lubricant, as in the exercise contraption? i have added left over wood stain used on my crown molding to create a beautiful balancing finish to a faux wall that dried perfectly. so the pure silicone lubticant will dry if added to water-based or acrylic paint???

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  6 лет назад

      Yes... actual treadmill lubricant or WD40... Coconut Milk Hair Serum... anything with Dimethicone in it... Once it is fully dry and cured... you simply wipe the oil off... use a dot of dish liquid on a wet paper towel... sponge it down lightly, wipe off again and dry real well. Then once it is sealed it is all good!

    OMG that's freaking gorgeous!! I have a few blank canvas's so I've been watching a lot of acrylic pour swiping Etc because I know I could do that I believe anybody could do that they're beautiful don't get me wrong but this is more what I've been looking for this form of a swipe has a purpose to me. But then I think you have to be a real certified artist like obviously you are but then I see the tools you use and I think huh I think I could get the hang of that MABEY? I'm sure I'd have a lot of redo canvases lol I winter section in Amazon I think where you list some things and yeah you do have a set of tools but I could tell the Big Tool wasn't there could you actually list what tools you used for this piece? And what did you prep the canvas with ? so if would you be so kind as to list them? just beautiful thanks for sharing I'm definitely a subscriber now!

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the awesome compliments! I started with a pre painted black canvas from Michael's. I did skim a light coat of black/floetrol 1:1 ratio (no silicone) over the canvas. The tool is on my Amazon link under the video. It's called a pool trowel by Marshalltown... it's plastic not metal

    My question is on your 1:1 ratio, how did you decide that to be best?
    Also, kudos to all ya'll who have that extra patience to record & share! (and I'm a photographer! ;-) )

    • @SandraLett
      @SandraLett  6 лет назад +2

      Thank you Marta! For some reason I did not see this comment until just now. Sorry for the delay... I try to keep up with all of them. I tried all different ratios... It works with paint/floetrol 1:2 ... but Floetrol or any medium, for that matter can get expensive. That is why I have not used pouring mediums in the past. I did faux finishes with Floetrol for 20 years before I started doing fluid art. So I am very comfortable and confident with the Floetrol... and the 1:1 ratio seems to work really well. The Owatrol is extremely nice too! Very smooth and self leveling, but harder to get and more expensive too. And yes... I spend hours editing videos and waiting to add the photos of dried paintings at the end so people can see the REAL results because wet paint and dry paint in an acrylic pour can totally change as it goes. Thanks for watching!
